Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Second Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 5 - Karan Johar's romantic family drama film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani exploded on the second Saturday at the domestic box office. The film is showing an excellent jump today and this has confirmed that it will cross 100 crores net by the second Sunday. ## Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani had a very good start to the second weekend and it is one of the rare mainstream Bollywood movies to score a jump on the 2nd Friday. Today, on the second Saturday, the movie is seeing an explosive jump of over 70%, and the collection can go as high as 85% which is excellent.## The early estimates for the second Saturday suggest the collection in the range of 11.50-12.50 crores net. This takes the total collection of the movie to around 91 crores net in 9 days, and tomorrow, on the second Sunday, it will go past the 100 crores net mark and will become the 6th Bollywood movie to reach the milestone this year.## The collections of RRKPK are strong in multiplex while smaller centers are also contributing well. RRKPK has now a real chance to emerge as a clean hit though it is already on course to emerge as a box office success. ## RRKPK is now headed to at least 125 crores net final collection and can go beyond as well if it manages to survive double competition in the form of "Gadar 2" and "OMG 2" which arrive on August 11. The movie falls in the same universe as Raanjhanaa and this instantly grabbed the eyeballs of the audiences who are eagerly looking forward to it.## "Tere Ishk Mein" is touted to be an intense love story in which Dhanush will portray the character of an angry young man named Shekhar. AR Rahman is on board to score music. Now, according to Pinkvilla, the makers have finalized the shoot details of the movie with an aim to release it in theaters worldwide in mid-next year.## "Aanand and his team of writers (Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav) have nearly completed the writing, and they will initiate pre-production in October. Mumbai, August 4 - After a good first week, Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starts the second weekend on a strong note, scoring a jump over the first Thursday collection. The jump over yesterday's collection is at least 10% and can go upto 15% which is fantastic.## The early estimate suggests 6.75-7.25 crores net on the second Friday of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This takes the total collection to around 80 crores and now, the movie has a real shot at crossing 100 crores net by the end of the second weekend itself.## The second Friday jump is more because the ticket prices have been increased to the opening weekend level after they were reduced during the weekdays. RRKPK will see further jump tomorrow and may hit the double-digit mark before another jump on Sunday. The movie scored the 5th biggest first week of the year for a Bollywood movie. ## The overseas collection of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is fantastic with approx. $7.25 million (60 crores). After the superb opening weekend, RRKPK held extremely well during the weekdays despite the competition with Hollywood movies to post very good numbers.## North America is leading the film's overseas numbers with $2.90 million (24 crores), followed by Gulf countries with $2.10 million (17.40 crores), and the United Kingdom with $890K (7.40 crores). Mumbai, August 2 - The Independence Day 2023 week is expected to be a big money spinner at the Indian box office with multiple tentpole movies lined up for release across different languages. There is Rajinikanth's much-awaited Tamil blockbuster "Jailer" as well as Chiranjeevi's Telugu movie "Bhola Shankar", and two of the highly-awaited Bollywood biggies, Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" and Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2". ## "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues", which is the sequel to the all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001) has been one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies ever since it was announced. Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 29 - After a decent opening day of 11.10 crores net, Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" witnesses a solid jump of over 40% today, on its second at the domestic box office. Positive word of mouth comes into play today as it scores one of the biggest second-day jumps post the covid-19 pandemic for a major Bollywood release. ## The early estimates suggest the second-day collection in the range of 15.50-16.50 crores, which takes the total net collection to around 27 crores in two days. The movie is strong in multiplexes which witnesses a solid jump while non-multiplexes also show a minor improvement over opening-day sales. ## RRKPK needed a big jump today after not so strong opening day and the makers will be happy with the jump. The best-performing city of the movie is Delhi while it is also collecting well in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. ## The film should show further jump tomorrow on Sunday, though the jump wouldn't be as big as today. Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 28 - Karan Johar's directorial return "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has a decent opening at the box office. The movie started on a decent note in the morning shows but due to super solid word of mouth, it showed a very good jump in the evening and night shows. ## The early estimates suggest the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net for this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer. The opening of the movie in the mid-10s would have been a very good one considering the budget but that is not the case anymore as it won't reach there.## RRKPK is strong in multiplexes but not that strong in single screens which is expected for this kind of genre. However, it was much for the movie to cross the double-digit mark which it has comfortably done. The opening of 11-12 crores net has given RRKPK a chance to grow over the weekend as word of mouth seems to be very positive. ## The movie should show gains on Saturday and Sunday as the 3-day weekend could well be around 40-45 crores net. Mumbai, July 28 - Well-known Bollywood filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's romantic drama "Bawaal" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor was supposed to be an experimental love story in the backdrop of World War II but it is turning into a major controversial attempt on this historical chapter.## The film has been accused of trivializing and demeaning the deaths of millions of Jews killed during the Holocaust by using Auschwitz as a metaphor for relationship problems. Many critics in India and internationally have slammed the film for drawing parallels to Jews suffering in Auschwitz camp and dying. ## Produced by Nadiadwala Entertainment, "Bawaal" tells the story of a history teacher who is embarrassed by his new wife's epilepsy. As they travel together to Europe to visit historic second world war sites, they fall in love with each other.## The movie receives a strong rebuke from the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), an NGO dedicated to the well-being of Jews as well as the Holocaust victims. The NGO has issued a statement demanding the removal of the film from Amazon Prime Video which is the exclusive streaming partner of the film. ## "Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man's capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that 'Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz', Nitesh Tiwari, trivializes and demeans the memory of 6 million murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler's genocidal regime", SWC said in a statement.## The NGO called on Amazon to remove the movie from its platform and to stop "monetizing" the Holocaust. "If the filmmaker's goal was to gain PR for their movie by reportedly filming a fantasy sequence at the Nazi death camp, he has succeeded. Amazon Prime should stop monetizing Bawaal by immediately removing this banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust", the statement further read. Prime Video has not responded yet.## "Bawaal" was meant for theatrical release before makers changed their minds and send the movie directly to Amazon Prime Video.
