Box Office: Jawan First Monday Early Estimates; Very Good Hold

Mumbai, September 11 - After the historic extended opening weekend, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller Jawan has a fantastic hold on its first make-or-break Monday. The overall biz, however, got impacted by the India vs. Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup in the evening and night shows.

Directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan is looking to score an estimated 27+ crores net collection but also has a shot at hitting 29-30 crores in Hindi which mostly depends on the impact of the match. At once during the day, the movie was heading to 30+ crores net but the biz got slowed down after the match started.



Nonetheless, despite the match impact, Jawan holds fantastically well in the Hindi version. Additionally, it scored an estimated 2.50-3 crores net in Tamil and Telugu versions for an all-India 30 crores net first Monday. This takes the movie past 300 crores net at 316 crores, including 279+ crores in the Hindi version alone.

Jawan is looking at 380-390 crores net collection in the extended 8-day week in all versions. The Hindi version is alone eyeing 335-345 crores net which is an excellent first-week total. The movie has no competition for at least 3 weeks, and this should be enough for its go past 500 crores net collection.
