'Tumbbad' Re-Release Sets A Major Record On Book My Show

Mumbai, October 8 - Producer Sohum Shah's folk horror thriller Tumbbad has become a big success in its re-release run. After the dismal show upon its original release in 2018, the movie was re-launched on September 13 this year and since then it has managed to turn things upside down. ## Tumbbad has been re-writing history for a re-release title at the Indian box office. It has become the highest-grossing re-release movie in India by beating Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli. Now, the movie has set a new record on the ticketing platform, Book My Show. ## Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie has sold 1+ million tickets so far on BMS, making it the first re-release movie ever to achieve the feat. At the box office, it has grossed approximately 36 crores so far in 25 days.## Tumbbad was a box office flop in its original release, but thanks to the tremendous response to its repeat run, the movie has managed to overturn the verdict to emerge as a hit. Mumbai, October 7 - Filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions announced on Monday that it will stop pre-release screenings of its future movies. The studio, like many others, used to host media screenings a day or two before the release dates. ## Describing this decision as a crucial measure to preserve the excitement surrounding the movie-going experience, Dharma said in a statement shared with the media, "This decision has been difficult to make, however, we believe it's a necessary step in ensuring that every viewer, including our friends in the media, witness our stories as they were meant to be experienced".## "We believe it will help in maintaining the excitement of the cinematic experience for all", the statement reads. Box Office: 'Tumbbad' Re-Release 17 Days Collection

Mumbai, September 29 - The second inning of folk horror comedy Tumbbad continues to get longer at the box office despite the competition. The movie has a good third-weekend collection which takes its total to around 50 crores gross (including the original run). ## Tumbbad re-released had an increased competition this weekend in the form of Jr. NTR-fronted Devara - Part 1 which was easily the number 1 at the Hindi box office. Despite that, the Rahi Anil Barve's directorial has done well to score around 2.60 crores net collection in the third weekend. ## On its third Friday, the movie minted approximately 55 lakh before jumping on Saturday for around 1 crore net.
