'Carry on Jatta 3' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Indian Punjabi Movie of All-Time

Mumbai, July 7 - Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal's comedy "Carry on Jatta 3" has surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor to become the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi movie of all time at the worldwide box office.

Directed by Smeep Kang, the third installment of the blockbuster franchise took just one week to become the biggest Indian Punjabi language movie. In its extended 8-day opening week, COJ3 grossed approx. 65 crores worldwide, surpassing COJ2's lifetime collection of approx. 58 crores to claim the top rank.



At the domestic box office, COJ3 has grossed approx. 33 crores (~28 crores net) while the overseas collection is 32 crores (estimated) after the first week. It is now the second biggest Punjabi language film ever after the Pakistani movie "The Legend of Maula Jatt" which grossed around INR 80 crores (estimated).

COJ3 will be eyeing to become the biggest Punjabi grosser as well as the first Punjabi title to reach 100 crores worldwide gross collection. It has no competition in the second week which should help it to score another big numbers at the box office.

The film stars Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles with Gurpreet Ghuggi, Kavita Kaushik, Binnu Dhillon, Nasir Chinyoti, Jaswinder Bhalla, B.N. Sharma, and Karamjit Anmol in supporting roles.
