'I Didn't Want To Come To India And Just Use American Actors', Christopher Nolan on Why Dimple Kapadia Was Important For 'Tenet'

Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan says he did not just want to come and shoot in India, but bring out the true essence by having an Indian character, and that is the reason Dimple Kapadia became an important part of his recently released, Tenet.## "I've always been struck with the spy genre, one of the things that is really fun about the genre is as an audience member, you get to travel the world, be it places you would never normally go and see things you would never normally see," Nolan told IANS while breaking down the reason behind the diverse cast of his latest film.## "One of the ways in which you make that meaningful and real is to have a very international cast, and have people who are from all over the world, or actors playing different nationalities", he added.## He continued, "For example, I didn't want to come to India and just use American actors and use Mumbai as a backdrop. I wanted to have an Indian character. So Dimple Kapadia in the character of Priya became a very important part of the film".## "Taking the audience on a journey, and giving them the feeling of having people (from) all around the world, it's fun. But it also adds to the stakes of the story because we are making a story that ultimately is about a threat. So the more of the world you get to experience, the more you get to engage within the film", he shared.## Tenet is a spy thriller that takes one on a thrilling time-bending mission with two secret agents, essayed by Robert Pattinson and John David Washington. In the film, Dimple is seen as Priya, who is crucial to the narrative. Her character emerges as a deadly person, with various shades of grey.## The Warner Bros. Saif Ali Khan Clarifies and Apologises For His Controversial Statement on Adipurush

Saif Ali Khan, who is set to portray the character of 'Lankesh' in Om Raut's magnum opus, Adipurush, has landed in troubled water after his controversial statement of "justifying the abduction of Sita by Raavan" in a recent interview. ## In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Saif had opened up on playing Raavan in Prabhas starrer Adhipurush and said, "It's interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose".## His statement hurt the sentiments of a section of citizens and they demanded Saif's omission from the movie which will release in 2022. Mumbai BJP leader Ram Kadam criticized the actor for the same and had tweeted, "Actor #SaifAliKhan makes an extremely shocking statement regarding his forthcoming film Adipurush. Saif who plays Ravan's character says Ravan's abduction of Sita Maa will be justified in the film. Ravan's humane side will be shown and his war against Sri Ram will be justified". ## "Director @OmRaut director, you made #Tanhaji which was well received worldwide bcz it does justice to Hindu pride and Marathi asmita. But if #Adhipurush plans to show Ravan in positive light and justify the inhuman act of abduction of Sita Maa, we will never allow that to happen. Hope better sense prevails #JaiShriRam", he added. ## After found himself on the wrong side, Saif has now clarified and withdrawn his statement and has apologized for hurting the sentiments. He said that he never intended to hurt anyone as he himself idolize Lord Ram. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologize to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions", the actor said.## Talking about the film, Adipurush is an adaption of Ramayan in which Prabhas will portray the character of Lord Ram. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's film Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Sanjay Dutt was released one year ago on this day (December 6). The movie depicts the events that took place during the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761 between the Maratha Empire and the invading Afghan army of Ahmad Shah Abdali played by Sanjay Dutt.## Kriti Sanon, who played the role of Parvati Bai, wife of Sadashiv Rao Bhau played by Arjun Kapoor in the movie, gets nostalgic remembering her role and the action sequence filmed on her in the movie. Jacqueline Fernandez Joins The Cast of Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon Starrer Bachchan Pandey

Jacqueline Fernandez hitting the bull's eyes with a stunning line-up of movies. The actress has recently wrapped up her part of the horror-comedy Bhoot Police in Dharamshala with Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam, and Arjun Kapoor, and now, she is gearing up for her next biggie. ## On Tuesday, producer Sajid Nadiadwala announced that the 'Kick' actress will play the second female lead in gangster comedy-drama Bachchan Pandey led by superstar Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon along with Arshad Warsi. Directed by Farhad Samji, the movie will go on floors on January 6, 2021, in Jaisalmer, and will continue till March 2021.## Talking about getting back to a film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Jacqueline said, "I was very very new to the industry when I did the song 'Dhanno' in Housefull for Nadiad (producer Sajid Nadiadwala). While Kriti will portray the character of a journalist who aspires to be a filmmaker, Jacqueline's character is currently being kept under wraps. ## Meanwhile, Jacqueline will begin Rohit Shetty's first comedy film outside the Golmaal franchise, 'Cirkus' with Ranveer Singh, and dedicate the entire December month to the film. Prabhas Teams Up With K.G.F. Director Prashanth Neel For an Action Saga, Salaar To Be Produced By Hombale Films

The director of Yash starrer K.G.F, Prashanth Neel who is currently busy with the production of his upcoming film KGF: Chapter 2, has joined hand with Baahubali star, Prabhas for his next action saga titled, Salaar. The movie will be produced by Vijay Kirugandur of Hombale Films. ## According to India TV News, sources close to actor Prabhas revealed that director Prashanth Neel met the actor recently. The director narrated a story to Prabhas and the latter was impressed with the story and signed the film.## Salaar will go on floors in January 2021. It is also the first time when the actor-director duo of Prabhas and Prashanth has come together for a film. It will be a pan India movie and will release in multiple languages. ## BIGGG NEWS... He will start shooting for Om Raut's magnum opus, Adipurush which is an adaption of Ramayan. Adipurush will release on 11 August 2022.
