David Dhawan On Recreating Songs For 'Coolie No. 1' From 1995 Original

Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No. 1 is all set to release on the occasion of Christmas 2020, on the digital platform Amazon Prime Video. The remake of Govinda and Karishma Kapoor's blockbuster movie from 1995 of the same name is already creating a lot of buzz because of the songs of which, a few of the songs are recreated from the original movie. ## After Husnn Hai Suhaana, the latest song, Tujhe Mirchi Lagi, from the movie released today on Monday and is already trending on social media. While the original song is sung by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik, the new version, filmed on Sara and Varun, has been reimagined by Lilo George and DJ Chetas. Director of the film, David Dhawan, hopes the songs will give extra mileage to the film.## "Songs from the original Coolie No. 1 are hugely popular and timeless. According to me, these tracks helped the film. I was always clear that if I ever made this film again, I would use these blockbuster songs".## "The songs from the original were created by music directors Anand-Milind and written by lyricist Sameer, who are close to me. After giving the blockbuster Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has become one of the bankable stars in Bollywood. He has been on a signing spree after Kabir Singh. The actor recently wrapped the filming of the Hindi remake of the Telugu movie, Jersey which is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who also helmed the original movie. ## Now, he has plans of beginning an Amazon Prime Video's original series which will be helmed by the Family Man director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK aka Raj & DK. The web series also happens to be Shahid's big debut on the digital medium.## While the web series is yet to go on floors, Amazon Prime Video is set to make the show big as one of the top Tamil stars, Vijay Sethupathy has reportedly signed the series and will play an important role in the show. ## According to a source quoted in Bollywood Hungama, "Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in for a pivotal role in the series. Raj and DK wanted someone of his stature to join the cast of the action thriller. The team plans to kickstart the shoot of the same from January in Mumbai and Goa. The action thriller will be an episodic series and have both Shahid and Vijay in a never seen before role. Ajey Nagar, who is popular as CarryMinati on YouTube, will enter Bollywood with a role in the Amitabh Bachchan-Ajay Devgn starrer, MayDay. He will play a social media sensation in the movie, which is based on the real life incidents. ## "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be aligning creative forces with such reputed personalities from the film fraternity. I'm eagerly looking forward to being a part of this brand-new adventure and learning a thing or two about acting while I'm at it", CarryMinati said as reported by India TV.## "In the past, I've got offered film roles but I agreed to be a part of this project because I had the opportunity to play myself and bring my alias, Carry Minati alive on the 70 mm screen. I remember enacting these skits as a child and my parents always thought I'd grow up to be an actor. You see acting is something that comes to me naturally just like music so it's no rocket science for me really", he added.## CarryMinati has a message for his fans. "For all my anxious fans out there, I'm just exploring and experimenting within the creative gamut, but content creation will always be my passion and true calling", he shared.## Mayday is directed and produced by Ajay, and the film marks his return on screen with Big B after Major Sahab, Khakee, Satyagraha and Hindustan Ki Kasam. Filmmaker Patty Jenkins says she is hoping to use her upcoming film, Wonder Woman 1984, to add to the conversation on how each of us can discover the hero within. The $200 million-budget superhero adventure was originally supposed to release earlier this year but got delayed repeatedly amid the COVID crisis. Finally, the Gal Gadot-starrer will open in India just ahead of Christmas, on December 24.## "I hope that people come to the film and love it, of course. But I also hope that everyone gets something more out of it as well", Jenkins said as reported in Zee News.## "I want it to be a great time and a great superhero film experience, but I also hope to use our film to add to the conversation in this world about how each of us can find the hero within. That's what this world needs, so I'm so happy to get to be a part of that thought process", she added.## Gadot reprises her role as Diana Prince and her superhero alter ego Wonder Woman in the sequel of the 2017 DC blockbuster.
