Upendra, Kichcha Sudeepa's 'Kabzaa' To Release In 7 Indian Languages

Bengaluru, September 17 - The Kannada film industry is flying high after the mega-blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2, and now, the industry is looking to score another big success with the upcoming period gangster drama film Kabzaa. ## The teaser of Upendra and Kichcha Sudeepa-fronted was released on Saturday (Sept. 17) and it brings back the vibes of KGF. The movie revolves around a 1947 Gandhi follower and a freedom fighter and how they were brutally attacked. Due to unavoidable circumstances, the freedom fighter's son gets trapped in the mafia world and the story unfolds between 1947 to 1984.## The teaser did not reveal any story or dialogues, but it still managed to leave a mark, thanks to the Ravi Basrur standout background score which perfectly syncs with the theme of the movie. Upendra is playing the lead role of a gangster while it also stars Shriya Saran as the female lead. ## "Kabzaa" will be a Pan India film that will release in seven Indian languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Odia, and Marathi. Hyderabad, September 17 - Telugu actor Varun Tej teased his new film announcement today (Sept. 17). The actor took to Twitter and shared a video, in which he can be seen reading through a script. He closes the script book, with a sigh of satisfaction and then keeps a toy aircraft on it, indicating the movie will be based on Indian Air Force. ## Tentatively titled VT13, the film will officially be announced on September 19. Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, VT13 will be based on Balakot Air Strike, carried out by the Indian Air Force in 2019 in Balakot, Pakistan against a terrorist training camp.## The reports say the movie will be a Pan India outing and will be helmed by a new director. VT 13 is believed to be the career-changing film for Varun Tej, whose career has been up and down. It is based on the epic Ramayana in which Prabhas is playing the role of Lord Rama. ## During the promotion of "The Ghost", Sonal Chauhan shared her excitement about doing this magnum opus and sharing screen space with Prabhas. SS Rajamouli Stresses On The Importance of Making Films On 'Ramayana' And 'Mahabharata'

Toronto, September 17 - India's maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli has stressed the importance of making films by taking the essence of Hindu epics Ramayan, and Mahabharat to make the film industry strong. ## The RRR director, during the press interaction at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, said that there is a lot of emotional drama and action in the aforementioned epics and the movies on them can go beyond boundaries. ## Speaking highly about the Telugu film industry, Rajamouli said that Tollywood out of all other film industries has made more films by taking the essence of "Ramayana" and "Mahabharata". ## He further said that if the Telugu industry continues to make more films on these epics, then it needn't be restricted to only Telugu people and can go beyond the state and the country. ## Giving the example of his path-breaking film series Baahubali, Rajamouli said that it was the film that broke all barriers, and then slowly people started realizing that the Indian film industry is not all about Bollywood, but there are other industries, particularly the Tollywood. ## Lately, Bollywood too seems to have realized the importance of making films on "Ramayana" and "Mahabharta" which provide wholesome larger-than-life experiences. Currently in theaters, "Brahmastra" is based on Ancient Indian Astras, and the audience is loving it. Mumbai, September 17 - Dharma Productions' Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has stormed past 300 crores at the global box office and it took just 8 days to reach the milestone. ## The Ayan Mukerji-directed fantasy action adventure film has had a record-breaking opening weekend with 214 crores worldwide. The movie outperformed negativity and scored well over the weekdays to ensure a very good first week at the box office with 290.14 crores globally for all languages. ## It was important for the movie to perform well on the second weekend, and (not so) surprisingly, it witnessed a jump of around 13% on the second Friday (normally films holds or decline going into the weekend) and this helped the movie to go past 300 crores worldwide.## "Brahmastra" has become only the second Bollywood film after "The Kashmir Files" to go past 300 crores since Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" in January 2020. Mumbai, September 16 - Director Ali Abbas Zafar has worked with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in three blockbuster films that include "Sultan" (2016), "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), and "Bharat" (2019). The maverick filmmaker is now working on plans to collaborate with the superstar again. ## Ali Abbas Zafar was supposed to direct "Tiger 3", which is scheduled to release on April 21, 2023, however, due to his prior commitments, he couldn't direct the movie and it was Maneesh Sharma, who grabbed this mega movie. However, Abbas Zafar said he is working on a different script and will soon share it with Salman Khan. ## "Salman sir and I will come together to do a big-budget quintessential Indian entertainer. I want to do a big action film with him. It is something I am working on and I will share (the script) with him soon", the filmmaker said in an interview with PTI.## Zafar may not have been able to direct the third part of the much-awaited action-thriller "Tiger" franchise, but he is looking forward to the movie, backed by Yash Raj Films. ## "Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) is like an elder brother. When the third part of 'Tiger' was happening I had some engagements that I was committed to. Our timelines couldn’t match. But I think Maneesh, who is taking the franchise forward, will do justice to it.## "Kabir Khan, me, and now Maneesh, all of us brought our individuality to the films we made. I am looking forward to 'Tiger 3'. I think it will be very entertaining. On Friday (Sept. 16), the actor announced Dream Girl 2 along with the star cast and release date. ## Ayushmann announced the film by sharing a hilarious video. In the video, the actor is seen planning with his friends to get back his popular character 'Pooja' to Mathura where the second part of the film is set. Box Office: 'Brahmastra' Scored The Biggest Opening Week of Pandemic Era For A Bollywood Film

Mumbai, September 16 - Director Ayan Mukerji's passion project Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has brought some joy to the Hindi film industry and scored the biggest opening week at the box office during the pandemic era for a Bollywood movie. ## The fantasy action adventure film took the flying start and scored 124.49 crores net collection in the opening weekend for all languages. The movie witnessed a drop over the weekdays but still managed to put up a decent hold knowing the fact that it got mixed reviews, and minted 48.93 crores net from Monday to Thursday, pushing the total net collection to 173.22 crores in the first week. ## "Brahmastra" is only the second Bollywood movie during the covid-19 pandemic to score 100+ crore in the opening week. The Hindi language collection of the movie is 156.4 crores net after the first week. Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi was the last film to reach this milestone and scored 120.66 crores net in November 2021. ## Overall, "Brahmastra" is the 18th highest 1st-week collection film of all time in the Hindi language while it currently stands at 39th spot among the all-time biggest Hindi grosser at the domestic box office. The movie is likely to reach the 33rd position among the all-time Hindi grosser after the end of the second week. It is said that the movie was not passed by the Censor Board as they have decided to stop the release of the film in the city. ## While there have been no official comments on the exact reason for the ban, it is being speculated that the satirical comedy on religious views in the movie has made the Censor Board take the harsh decision. Mumbai, September 15 - South Indian sensation, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to headline her maiden Bollywood movie and will star alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. The movie will be produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films, the official announcement, however, is due but expected to be made soon. ## Now, according to peepingmoon.com, the movie will be a horror comedy in Vijan's proposed Horror-Comedy Cinematic Universe. Samantha will reportedly play the role of princess opposite Ayushmann, who will play a vampire in the film, which is said to be a unique, intriguing horror story that has an ample dose of humor and suspense. ## The report further said that the upcoming movie will be directed by Amar Kaushik from the script written by his regular collaborator, Niren Bhatt. Kaushik previously directed Maddock's "Stree", which was the first film in the studio's horror-comedy universe, and the upcoming "Bhediya". ## The shoot of Ayushmann and Samantha's film will kickstart next year. Mumbai, September 15 - Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar spoke highly about Kannada's blockbuster film franchise KGF and called it the industry-saving film. The filmmaker graced a star-studded event, held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on September 14, where some of the most prominent personalities of Marathi cinema were present. ## Mahesh Manjrekar was speaking in the context of giving more importance to regional cinema and said that the Kannada industry is the prime example of it, which, the filmmaker believed, was changed because of one person. ## "Some years back, the condition of the Kannada film industry was such that it seemed like it would shut down anytime. But there was one person who believed in making a film and spending a lot of money on it. That person (probably referring to producer Vijay Kiragandur) made a film named KGF and it created history.## "What makes me happy is that they didn't make both parts of KGF in Hindi. They shot the film in Kannada, dubbed it in Hindi aur fir audience ke sir ke upar feka!", he said, according to Bollywood Hungama. ## "I envy these guys. I would have loved to do something like this. It is superb", the "Antim" director added. "We have to shout from the rooftops that Marathi cinema is (also) great. There's no dearth of talent when it comes to Marathi cinema. Then what is it that we are lacking? We also need people who believe in our vision. It's crucial that we make big-scale films, that too with conviction and confidence".## The filmmaker further said that investors should also believe in Marathi cinema and its filmmaker like Vijay Kiragandur believed in director Prashanth Neel's vision and Yash's confidence, called KGF. "Somebody has to believe in us and spend money, like the way KGF producers did. I mean, come on, KGF - Chapter 2 collected Rs. 1000 crores! Can you imagine?", he added.## "KGF" was released in 2018 and went on to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time before its sequel came in 2022 and shattered box office records at the Pan India level. Released in April 2022, "KGF: Chapter 2" grossed over 1200 crores worldwide, including approx. 1000 crores in India alone.
