Box Office: Vikram Vedha First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 5 - Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha sees further growth at the box office, thanks to the Dussehra holiday. ## The Pushkar/Gayatri-directed movie scored an estimated 7 crores net on its first Wednesday, jumping approx. 21% from Tuesday. The total net collection of the film has reached approx. 55 crores net in 6 days as the opening week collection is eyeing around 58-60 crores. ## "Vikram Vedha" has underperformed in the first six days though the movie has managed to hold well over the week. The remakes are not working big at the Hindi box office post-pandemic, however, VV has had a strong audience word of mouth which is driving its biz. ## While will be an uphill task to achieve, the 100 crores net mark is still within sight for the film if it manages to hold on to the lower level. Hyderabad, October 5 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan's Godfather has taken a very good opening at the box office despite the direct competition with Nagarjuna Akkineni's The Ghost. ## Directed by Mohan Raja, the political action thriller film scored an estimated 20-35 crores gross in both Telugu and Hindi languages. Chiranjeevi's last film Acharya had opened to approx. 43 crores gross but it had no competition.## "Godfather" grossed approx. 10.50 crores worth share collection in the Telugu states on the first day. It has been valued at approx. 90 crores worldwide and will need to hold well for at least two weeks to achieve the break even. Unlike "Acharya", the reviews and audience word of the mouth are positive for "Godfather" and this should help it achieve its target. ## Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film has underperformed, which was very much expected. As per the early estimates, "Godfather" has minted approx. 80 lakh net in Hindi. The lack of promotion in Hindi and the film being a remake have probably played a part in less footfall for the Hindi version. ## On the other hand, Nagarjuna Akkineni's "The Ghost" takes a decent start considering the clash with "Godfather". Going by the early estimates, the action thriller film has grossed approx. 4-4.50 crores on the first day, including approx. 2 crores share. Chennai, October 5 - Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions' epic period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 has crossed 300 crores at the worldwide box office through the first Wednesday (6 days). ## The Mani Ratnam-directed film scored an estimated 24 crores gross on its first Monday, dropping approx. 7% from Tuesday. The total domestic gross collection has also crossed the 200 crores mark, for approx. 201 crores. "PS-1" is the second Tamil movie of 2022 to score 200 crores gross domestically.## Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name, "Ponniyin Selva - 1" continues to score big in the home state, Tamil Nadu as it grossed an estimated 17.50 crores more on Wednesday, pushing total collection in TN to over 130 crores in just 6 days. ## With the way "PS-1" is performing in Tamil Nadu, it is looking a sure shot 200 crores grosser in the state, which will make it the first ever film to achieve the feat. The movie is equally strong overseas for an estimated 115 crores gross till now, helping worldwide gross collection to reach over 315 crores after Wednesday.## Meanwhile, the Kannada movie Kantara is taking maximum use of the size of its release and turned out to be a massive blockbuster just like "PS-1". Kannada films have had great success this year, and "Kantara" is another huge blockbuster on the list. ## The Rishab Shetty-starrer has grossed approx. 32 crores in the first five days, and it grossed an estimated 10.20 crores on its first Wednesday. "Adipurush" is probably the most trolled movie in recent times, however, Om Raut has strongly defended the teaser amid criticism. ## Om Raut and T-Series showed the teaser to industry people on the big screen, and the reaction from the screening has completely opposite to what the audience is saying. The teaser also revealed the first look of Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, based on Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Ravana from the epic Ramayana respectively. ## The filmmaker interacted with the media after showing the teaser to the industry people. Chennai, October 4 - Tamil blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is a one-horse race at the box office and is racing towards the 300 crores mark globally. ## Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie has another massive day at the domestic box office, as it grossed an estimated 26-28 crores on its first Tuesday, jumping over 20% from Monday. The total domestic gross collection has reached approx. 180 crores in just 5 days. ## As reported earlier, "PS-1" has crossed 100 crores gross mark in Tamil Nadu state and becomes the fastest film ever to achieve the milestone. It collects an estimated 19 crores on Tuesday, for a total of approx. 114 crores gross in the state. ## Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film is surprisingly doing well and witnesses a jump of over 30% on its 5th day for an estimated 1.90 crores gross, pushing the total collection to approx 13.40 crores gross in the dubbed version. Worldwide, "PS-1" has grossed an estimated 284 crores (not counting the overseas total on Tuesday). The movie witnesses a jump of approx. 10% on the first Tuesday for an estimated 6 crores net. ## The jump on the first Tuesday is not big but considering the working day, the jump is a good sign for the film going forward. It also benefits due to the Dussehra holiday tomorrow as the night shows are stronger than yesterday. ## "Vikram Vedha" grossed 74 crores worldwide in the first four days, and including today's collection, the total collection has raced past 80 crores. Hyderabad, October 4 - Director Mohan Raja is coming with another remake film Godfather with Megastar Chiranjeevi. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on October 5th in Telugu and Hindi. Mohan Raja is known as the remake king as 7 of his 9 previous directorial films were remade, and except for one film, all have been big hits at the box office. ## "Godfather" is Mohan Raja's only second Telugu film, despite the fact that he made his debut with the Telugu movie, titled "Hanuman Junction" in 2001. It was his Tamil movie "Thani Oruvan" (the first film with an original story) that was later remade in Telugu with Ram Charan under the title of "Dhruva".## "Dhruva" was released in 2016, and now, Mohan Raja is in talks with Ram Charan for its sequel. The sequel of the movie has been in discussion for a long time now, and now, producer NV Prasad, who produced "Dhruva", confirmed that early development for the sequel.
