Hyderabad, October 15 - Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu has taken to social media to slam fake news peddlers over his alleged remarks on Prabhas-fronted Adipurush teaser. The teaser of "Adipurush" has widely been discussed on social media for its VFX shots, however, public opinion changed after the makers show the teaser on the big screen. ## Some of the Telugu websites reported that Vishnu Manchu criticized the "Adipurush" teaser and allegedly said that he felt cheated after watching the teaser. "You got to prepare the audience. The visuals of the Adipurush teaser look cartoonish and if you don't prepare and cheat the audience, then this is the reaction you will get", Vishnu said as per Telugu media. ## Now, the actor took to Twitter and called the news fake and said that some items in Telugu are trying to spread negative news to downgrade his own upcoming movie, "Ginna". Bengaluru, October 14 - Rishab Shetty's adventure action thriller film, Kantara has had an excellent second week at the domestic box office. The sensational blockbuster movie grossed approx. 50 crores in India during the second week, helping itself reach 85.6 crores gross in just two weeks while the worldwide total stands at 93.6 crores. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" has been competing with the biggest Kannada blockbuster of all time, KGF: Chapter 2 in the home state, Karnataka, and is leading the Yash-starrer after 5th day at the box office. Thanks to the blockbuster trending at the box office so far, "Kantara" has set an all-time record in Karnataka for the second week. ## "Kantara" has grossed 46.42 crores in the state in the second week, which is the biggest ever. Previously, "KGF 2" had this record with 34.2 crores though it had grossed over 100 crores in the opening week against 34.05 crores of "Kantara". ## "KGF 2", which was also produced by Hombale Films, finished its lifetime run in Karnataka with approx. 183 crores. Chennai, October 14 - Mani Ratnam's mega-blockbuster movie Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 has become the biggest-grossing movie of all-time in Tamil Nadu state, after beating Kamal Haasan's all-time blockbuster Vikram, which was released in June this year. ## "Ponniyin Selvan", which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name, has surpassed the total lifetime collection of "Vikram" in Tamil Nadu in just 15 days. The Lokesh Kangaraj-directed movie grossed 180.57 crores, and with today's collection, "PS-1" has reached approx. 182 crores in the home state. It is all set to become the first movie ever to enter the 200 crores club. ## Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, "PS-1" has not only beaten "Vikram" in Tamil Nadu but also overtaken its worldwide lifetime collection (414.43 crores) to become the second biggest Tamil movie of all time, behind only Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" (744 crores). With approx. 417 crores to date, "PS-1" is now the 4th biggest Indian movie of 2022, and it will become 3rd after the end of the 3rd weekend. ## "Ponniyin Selvan: I" dramatizes the early life of Chola prince Arulmozhi Varman, who would become the renowned emperor Rajaraja I (947–1014). The movie largely received positive reviews from Tamil critics and audiences but the reaction was mixed from Telugu and Hindi audiences and critics. Mumbai, October 14 - Ayushmann Khurrana's campus comedy-drama film Doctor G has been released in theaters today along with Parineeti Chopra and Harrdy Sandhu's spy action thriller Code Name: Tiranga and a few other films. ## Going by the initial reaction from the movie-goers and critics, it seems "Doctor G" will be the first choice of the audience over the weekend along with the Kannada movie Kantara, of which the Hindi version has been released today after creating waves in Kannada. ## Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap in her directorial debut, "Doctor G" is being called hilarious while dealing with a complicated subject where Ayushmann plays a gynecologist. Social comedy-drama has always been Ayushmann's strong zone and it looks like he is back in that after a couple of missed opportunities. ## Apart from Ayushmann, the performances of Rakul Preet Sigh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha are getting big recognition. The direction of the movie is also being praised. The only debatable point of the movie, as per the critics' talks, is the second half where the plot of the movie gets off-track, but overall, the film is getting a very good reception. ## "Code Name: Tiranga", directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, is a spy action thriller but the initial response is average to the movie. The movie had created a decent buzz through teaser/trailer, but the critics are calling it a failed attampt in this genre. The performence Parineeti Chopra along with other actors is praiseworthy but the direction by Ribhu Dasgupta is being criticised. Chennai, October 13 - Two of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema, Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar are shooting for their next films, titled Varisu, and Thunivu, respectively. The shooting of both films is in the last leg as they are getting ready for release in 2023. ## Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu", which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie and it has already been announced to release on Pongal 2023, mostly on January 12. And now, the latest news is that the makers of "Thunivu" are also eyeing the Pongal release, mostly on January 13. ## "Thunivu" is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios. Pongal has always lured Indian filmmakers, especially South filmmakers, to release their films in theaters and make the most out of it. This year, except for Nagarajuna's "Bangarraju", no other big films were released in theaters due to the 3rd covid-19 wave, but the 2023 Pongal festival will not have to face such things. ## Apart from the mega box office clash between Tamil superstars, the Telugu superstars are also coming with their films on Sankranthi. One of the biggest Indian films of 2023, Adipurush, starring Prabhas was long back confirmed to hit big screens on January 12, 2023, in multiple languages apart from original Hindi and Telugu. ## "Adpurush" is the only Pan-Indian film, releasing on Sankranthi 2023 occasion.
