Los Angeles, December 14 - The box office projection for James Cameron's mega movie Avatar: The Way of Water is getting better and better with each passing day. The movie was anyway projected to take a huge opening but after highly positive critics' reviews, the projection has increased significantly. ## The sequel to Cameron's all-time biggest grosser "Avatar" (2009), "Avatar 2" has been projected to take the opening of approx. $175 million - $200 million at the domestic (North America) box office opening weekend, which is nearly 3X of the first movie's debut.## The movie was recently confirmed to release in China on December 16, and this has raised its overseas box office projection massively. As per the Hollywood trade analysts, "Avatar 2" is tracking one of the biggest openings in China wherein some have projected a $200 million debut for the movie. ## The Disney tentpole is currently tracking a $350 million - $400 million overseas opening weekend start, for a global start of $550 million. Since the release of "RRR", Ram Charan has been picking films that appeal at the Pan India level. ## Ram Charan is currently working on director Shankar's political action thriller film, tentatively titled RC15. The shoot of the movie is underway at a rapid pace. Apart from RC15, the superstar recently confirmed his maiden collaboration with "Uppena" director Buchi Babu Sana for his 16th film. ## Now, according to the latest reports, the "Rangasthalam" actor has also confirmed his next after Buchi Babu's movie. 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Pre-Sales Gains Momentum Ahead of The Big Release In India

Mumbai, December 13 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water is all set to explode at the Indian box office on December 16. The science-fiction epic has been one of the most-anticipated Hollywood films of the year and it can clearly be seen in the pre-sales booking. ## The advance booking of "Avatar 2" was opened a month before the release date and it was going at a steady pace, however, over the last 24 hours, the booking has picked up and has gained upward momentum. The movie has sold over 3.5 lakh tickets in all versions for the opening day (Dec. 16), and nearly 30% of tickets have been booked in the last 24 hours. ## The movie will be released in multiple languages, but it is the original English version which is having a maximum number of tickets booked. The 3D, 2D, IMAX 3D, and 4DX 3D of English version has sold approx. 1.9 lakh tickets worth approx. 7.50 crores gross so far for the opening day.## The Hindi 3D version has been able to sell approx. 44K tickets worth approx. 1.40 crores gross. The overall advance booking collection of "Avatar 2" for the opening day is approx. 11 crores gross (till December 13 afternoon). Lokesh Kanagaraj Confirms Future Films In His Cinematic Universe (LCU)

Chennai, December 13 - Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj has made his mark in his little career so far and is finding himself standing with some of the most successful directors in the country. The last three films of Kanagaraj became huge hits at the box office and put him in the elite league. ## Lokesh is one of the directors in India who is creating his own cinematic universe. It was his "Kaithi" (2019), starring Karthi, which kickstarted LCU and the second film is Kamal Haasan's "Vikram", which was released in June this year. Before "Vikram", Lokesh directed Thalapathy Vijay in "Master" which was a standalone film. ## Going forward, Lokesh will only focus on the films that will feature in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The star filmmaker is currently busy with the pre-production work of Thalapathy Vijay's next. It will be the third film in the LCU. Tokyo, December 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" long-standing box office record has finally been broken as SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. ## "RRR", starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan has completed its 8th week at the Japan box office and has grossed ¥410 million (Rs. 24.88 crores) with 271K footfalls so far, which is also the highest for an Indian film. It has outdone Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" which had grossed ¥400 million in 1998. ## The SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR" was released in Japan in October this year and scored the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie there. Though the numbers of "RRR" weren't as high as the makers had predicted it maintain a steady run throughout and finally topped "Muthu's" record to become the new number one Indian grosser in Japan. ## "RRR" is looking to go past ¥500 million and it was originally predicated to have this number. The movie has found appreciation wherever it has been released so far and Japan is the latest market in that list.
