Los Angeles, December 14 - The year 2022 has seen some of the great films that have done wonders at the box office and managed to win over audiences. SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR has been one f the films, which not only did extremely well in India but has equally been successful internationally and continues to remain the favorite of movie lovers even after 8 months of its release.

There have been movies across the Indian film industries which did really well. IMDb, an online database of information related to films and others, has released a list of the top 10 most popular Indian movies of 2022, and in this list, "RRR" is the most popular Indian film of the year.



Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, which shocked the nations by showcasing the brutal dark chapter of Indian history, has been ranked as the second most popular film of the year, followed by the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022, KGF: Chapter 2 at number. Prashanth Neel's directorial grossed over 1200 crores at the global box office and is currently the 3rd highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

Kamal Haasan's biggest blockbuster, Vikram has been ranked as the 4th most popular film of the year while Rishab Shetty's magical blockbuster Kantara is at number 5. Both "Vikram" and "Kantara" grossed over 400 crores each at the worldwide box office.

The list of the most popular movies has been determined by the actual page views of the more than 200 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide. This exclusive and definitive data is derived from IMDb movie rankings, which are updated weekly throughout the year.

Of all the movies released theatrically or digitally in India between January 1 and November 7, 2022, and have an average IMDb user rating of 7 or higher with at least 25,000 votes, these 10 titles were consistently the most popular with IMDb users.
