Mega Blockbuster 'RRR' Wins Major International Awards

Hyderabad, December 6 - With an eye on the Oscars, SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has begun its awards hunt at the international level as the movie continues to spread its magic. ## SS Rajamouli has been honored with the Best Director award at the New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC). He beats the likes of Steven Spielberg, and Darren Aronofsky to bag this major honor. Earlier, "RRR" won Best International Feature Film at the Saturn Awards. ## Apart from the aforementioned awards, "RRR" has also won the Best International Feature Film at Atlanta Film Critics Circle, and the latest award goes to "RRR" is the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Spotlight Award, which will be given to the Cast and Crew of the movie. ## In other big awards, composer M.M. Keeravani grabbed the Best Music Score award in "RRR" at the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards while SS Rajamouli came second in the Best Director's category, falling a little short to "Tár" director Todd Field. ## Meanwhile, the "Naatu Naatu" song, which has become the dance number of the year, is the front-runner to score the Oscars 2023 nominations in the Best Original Song category. Mumbai, December 5 - Ajay Devgn's suspense thriller, Drishyam 2 continues its winning run at the box office and becomes the 3rd highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office. It has outgrossed Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 for the 3rd spot. ## Directed by Abhishek Pathak, "Drishyam 2" has been unstoppable at the domestic box office, grossing over 220 crores through 3rd Sunday (17 days). Overseas, the movie has minted approx. 45 crores so far, pushing the worldwide gross total to over 265 crores. It crossed BB2 (266 crores) at the time of writing this piece. ## "Drishyam 2" is very much on track to hit 300 crores worldwide, which will be an extraordinary achievement for it. There have been only two Bollywood movies to top 300 crores worldwide post the covid-19 pandemic - Ayan Mukerji's "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" (430 crores), and Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" (338 crores). ## Produced by Panorama Studios, Viacom18 Studios, and T-Series, "Drishyam 2" is based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, also serving as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from the eponymous 2013 Malayalam film. The superstar recently jetted off to attend the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he interacted with the media and talked about the movie. ## "I'm making a movie on sex education. It's a very important subject. In a lot of places, it is not there. We have all kinds of subjects we learn in school but sex is one education I'd like all the schools in the world to have because it is important", Akshay said, according to Deadline.## Akshay further said that even though these types of movies are not commercially huge, he likes doing such films on social issues as they give him satisfaction. In the past, he has made social films like "PadMan" and "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha", and both were successful. ## "It's going to take time to release. April or May I will be releasing that movie. Ram Charan Stresses On Not Doing A Lot of Remakes

Hyderabad, November 30 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan is not keen on doing a lot of remakes as he thinks that due to OTT platforms, the recall value of remakes has dropped. It has been seen in the recent box office performances where except for a couple of movies, remakes have failed badly across languages.## Ram Charan, who is currently shooting for director Shankar's political thriller film, recently produced "Godfather", starring Chiranjeevi. It was the remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam movie "Lucifer". The movie did decent business of little over 100 crores worldwide but that is mainly because of the star power of Chiranjeevi. ## "Godfather" was expected to do very well but because its dubbed version is already available on OTT, the movie couldn't give rich rewards to the makers. Ram Charan said during a recent interview that he is not keen on doing remakes and if he does, he would make sure that the original movie is not available in dubbed versions.## "I'm not sure I'd continue doing a lot of remakes. If I did a remake, I'd probably ask the original's producer not to release it on OTT. I might do a remake under those conditions. Otherwise, we'd all prefer to do original scripts in the future", he said.## Ram Charan, who headlined the multistarrer "RRR" directed by SS Rajamouli, recently confirmed his next film after Shankar's "RC15".
