Hombale Films' 'Dhoomam' Starring Fahadh Faasil Release Date Revealed

Bengaluru, March 22 - Hombale Films delivered two mega-blockbusters last year in the form of KGF: Chapter 2 and Kantara which combed grossed over 1600 crores worldwide in a combined budget of approx. 120 crores. ## After such mega success, Hombale Films has become the synonym of blockbusters and there is genuine excitement regarding its next films. The studio will have a couple of releases this year, and one of them is Fahadh Faasil-fronted drama film "Dhoomam". ## "Dhoomam" was announced in September last year under the direction of Pawan Kumar, who directed the Kannada movie "U-Turn". Dhoomam is said to be the revival project of Pawan Kumar who reportedly wanted to make it with either Rakshit Shetty or Dhananjay under the title of C10H14N2 (the chemical formula of Nicotine). ## Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, Hombale Films is planning to release "Dhoomam" in the last week of June, either on June 23 or 30. The movie, as announced earlier, will be released in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil languages. It has Aparna Balamurali as the female lead along with Roshan Mathew in a pivotal role.## Hombale Films, on the other hand, has multiple films in the pipeline, and the most-awaited of them is Prabhas-fronted "Salaar" which is slated for September 28, 2023, release. Mumbai, March 22 - SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster and Oscar-winning film RRR is having the success of a lifetime. While this period action drama movie is on the historic run at the Japanese box office it is simultaneously trending on Netflix even after many months of release.## The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted flick won the Best Original Song Oscar for Naatu Naatu last week. The big win increased the buzz of the movie for another round and the result is clearly visible with its return to the top 10 list of the most-watched non-English films on Netflix last week. ## The "RRR" Hindi version scored 2.67 million viewing hours during the week of March 13 - March 19 and was the 7th most watched non-English movie during the week. Netflix didn't reveal the total viewing hours but one can assume it to be around 100 million so far. ## Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has now been in the top 10 for 18 weeks on Netflix which is the highest ever for an Indian title. It is currently trending in the top 10 in 6 countries, including India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius. ## Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor and Tabu's "Kuttey" was streamed for 3.55 million viewing hours during its opening weekend on Netflix and was the 5th most watched non-English film during the week. Mumbai, March 22 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's much-awaited romantic-action drama film Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor has been announced to release in theaters on October 6, 2023. ## The movie was supposed to release in April this year, however, due to the delay in post-production, the makers decided to postpone the release. In between, there were rumors that Bawaal would be released directly on digital platforms before makers denied such development. ## The movie marks the second collaboration between producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari after their National award-winning film "Chhichhore". Los Angeles, March 22 - The fourth installment of the neo-noir action thriller franchise John Wick is looking all set to conquer the box office this weekend. ## The Lionsgate/Thunder Road Films/87 Eleven's John Wick: Chapter 4 is aiming at a record opening for the franchise with $120+ million worldwide weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, John Wick 4 is projected to start with $70+ million and about $55+ million internationally. ## The Keanu Reeves-fronted 'R' rated flick is flying high with critics' reviews. It is the best-reviewed John Wick movie among all four with a critics' score of 96% and certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The all-important audience score too is super solid with 96% currently.## The last film of the franchise, "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" (2019) grossed $171 million domestically after scoring the franchise's biggest opening weekend of $57 million. Worldwide, the movie tallied $328 million, becoming the highest-grossing installment in a $589 million grossing franchise. ## Surprisingly, John Wick 4 is having very good pre-sales in India for the opening weekend. Mumbai, March 21 - Ranbir Kapoor-fronted romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is keeping up with study run at the box office during the weekdays. ## After scoring 92.31 crores net in the extended first week, Luv Ranjan's directorial movie did well on the second weekend to score 16.83 crores, a drop of approx. 61% from like-for-like first Fri-Sun weekend. It held well on its second Monday for approx. 2.40 crores, pushing total net collection to over 111.50 crores in 13 days.## TJMM has entered among the top 5 highest-grossing films of Ranbir Kapoor at the domestic box office. On its second Tuesday, the movie crossed the lifetime net collection of Ranbir's "Barfi!" (112.10 crores) and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (113.20 crores) to become his 4th biggest net scorer. ## Produced by Luv Films and T-Series, TJMM is Ranbir's 7th 100 crores grosser. It will finish as the 4th biggest of him as it is still approx. 75 crores away from topping "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" which looks unlikely. ## Meanwhile, TJMM is the 6th 100 crores net-grossing film of Shraddha Kapoor's career. Los Angeles, March 21 - Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi has slammed DC fandom for spreading unnecessary hate and negativity for DCEU films. ## As the SnyderVerse era is nearing its end before a new DCU will begin in earnest with Superman: Legacy under James Gunn, these changing dynamics are not going well with the passionate DC fans who are rejecting anything that is not connected to Zack Snyder's vision for DCEU.## It all began with Snyder's Cut of Justice League, which wasn't the result of organic filmmaking but extreme fan movement. Later, Warner Bros. reportedly accepted that surrendering to the fan movement was a major mistake the studio did and things went from bad to worse which forced the studio to start from the beginning. ## In the earlier, interview, Levi explained why SnyderVerse didn't prove to be good for DC as it failed to tap into a larger audience when compared to the MCU. Now, in a new interview with Josh Horowitz's The Happy Sad Confused podcast (via The Direct), Levi called out DC fandom for continuously being negative. ## "It's very very difficult. It's very difficult, but, you know, listen, I did my best, I have to accept that, I know that I did my best, and all the other stuff is out of your hands. But yeah I mean even on Twitter today, scrolling through, there's people that have released some advanced reviews, or just you know fans who have seen it, and there's this incredibly positive stuff out there. And then, of course, there's these other people, like the internet is full of, which is a very just negative to be negative people", he said.## The actor pointed out to one particular group of fans, and said, "There's a whole contingent of comic book fans that it's really unfortunate that there's this one particular group of people that think I... well, they don't like me because I don't agree with them on other comic book movies. You know who I'm talking about". ## "But instead of there being a conversation, they take up so many of my words, or things completely out of context, and then they go stir up all the other people that they know online, and they all just want to attack, and attack, and attack, and attack. And it's really sad because this is just one example of so many examples of the amount of just venom, toxicity, and bullying that goes on in these cyber dimensions", he added.## The actor's latest superhero flick, "Shazam! Fury of The Gods", directed by David F. Sandberg, opened at approx. $65 million worldwide, which is much lower than the projection. The movie got criticism for poor writing and direction which led to its major disappointment. ## Now, the dialogue writer of the film, Piyush Mishra opened up about its failure at the box office. In a candid chat with Hindustan Times, the veteran actor and writer said that "I also didn't understand why it didn’t work. People said it didn’t work due to the script". ## "I think we have already seen fantastic stunts so many times. Now you will have to compete with them, the revolution in the South. Baahubali was not merely CGI, it also had a very solid script. To compete with a Baahubali, you will have to write an equally brilliant script. Pushpa also had a very good script, it wasn't made just like that. Adding CGI is only beneficial when you have a solid script, CGI without a script is of no use", he added.## Though there wasn't too much criticism for dialogues, Mishra said that it's the screenplay that decides the quality of dialogues in a film. "I derive my inspiration only from the screenplay. Dialogues depend on the screenplay. It's not possible to write dialogues for a bad screenplay, at least for me it's not possible", he concludes.## Produced by Yash Raj Films on a budget of around 150 crores, Shamshera did a worldwide business of approx. 60 crores, including approx. 48 crores domestically.
