'Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse' Set To Be The Longest Hollywood Animated Movie of All-Time

Los Angeles, May 3 - Sony Pictures' Marvel animated movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is inching closer to its release date and the anticipation around it is building up.

Co-directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the sequel to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (2018) will see Miles go on an adventure with Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman across the multiverse where he meets a new team of Spider-People, known as the Spider-Society, but comes into conflict with them over handling a new threat.



Now, it has been revealed that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" will be the longest-running Hollywood animated movie of all time. According to Cryptic4KQual, who has been a reliable source for runtime info on Hollywood films, the movie has a theatrical run time of 2 hours and 20 minutes (140 minutes).

The reported runtime makes "Across the Spider-Verse" the longest-running Hollywood animated film, beating "Consuming Spirits", which has a runtime of 2 hours and 16 minutes (136 minutes). Among the Spider-Man movies, it will rank third longest-running film.

The lengthy runtime of "Spider-Verse 2" isn't surprising as it will have a lot more to tell and introduce many storylines and characters than the first movie. It will feature new characters such as Issa Rae's Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya's Spider-Punk, and Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099 along with the potential cameos from live-action characters from the likes of Venom and even Tom Holland's Spider-Man (per MCU - The Direct).

The movie is slated to release on June 2, 2023. In India, it will release in as many as 10 languages.
