Blockbuster Telugu Movie 'Virupaksha' Confirms Release In Other Languages

Mumbai, April 28 - Telugu mystic action thriller film Virupaksha has turned out to be a huge success at the box office. The Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon-fronted movie has crossed the 50 crores gross mark worldwide within the opening week and is looking unstoppable despite the new releases. ## Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, "Virupaksha" is now gearing up for its wide Pan India release in multiple languages. The producer announced today that the movie will next release in Hindi by Goldmines Telefilms, in Tamil by Studio Green, and in Malayalam by E4 Entertainment.## The movie will be hitting theaters on May 5 in the aforementioned languages. Interestingly, "Virupaksha" was originally announced for simultaneous Pan India release in multiple languages. However, it was a wise move by the makers to first release the movie in the original Telugu language as there was hardly any buzz in other versions. ## Now, with an excellent response to the Telugu version, the movie is in a better position to have a Pan India release because most of the paying audience is aware of it. It is about mysterious deaths that occur in a village due to an unknown person's occult practices. 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' and 'Agent' Open To Contrasting Responses

Chennai, April 28 - Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam's much-awaited period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 has been released in theaters today, and as expected, the movie opened to super positive responses from critics and audiences alike. ## The film, starring an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, among others in key roles, had early morning shows due to the huge curiosity among the fans and the early responses indicated that the movie has exceeded the expectations. ## Despite being called slow-paced, the critics and audiences are hailing the intense drama and superlative performances of the lead cast. Mani Ratnam has once again done very well with his excellent direction and given enough scope to each and every key character to show their skills. AR Rahman's music seems to be the cherry on the cake. ## Overall, "PS-II" has been able to deliver what the makers had promised, and just like "PS-I", it should also do well at the box office. ## Quite contrasting to "PS-2", the long-awaited Telugu movie Agent starring Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty opened to forgettable responses from critics who are calling it one of the poorest films of the actors and director Surender Reddy. The audience response is also not encouraging which has made it tough for the movie to survive. ## "Agent" has been in production for the last three years as it got delayed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic. Unlike the response to the movie, the teaser and trailer got a good response which generated decent hype for the movie but the final content couldn't justify the sort of pre-release expectations it had, as per audience response. ## It is not that all is bad for the movie as the performance of Akhil and Mammootty is getting praise, but again, other departments didn't stand out. As per critics' reviews, the movie is let down by the poor writing, direction, and mindless over-the-top action. ## Overall, "Agent" has failed to make the long wait worth it, and it will find tough to get going at the box office. RSVP was on board to produce this mega-budget movie. ## However, the movie has been in trouble which eventually led RSVP to back out as the studio was unable to allot the huge budget Dhar was asking for. Vicky Kaushal too left the movie due to his other commitments. Just when the movie was on the verge of getting shelved, Dhar tried to revive the project by offering it to Ranveer Singh by bringing Jio Studios on board to produce. ## Well, it seems the movie is still not finding its place as the latest reports state that Jio Studios too backed out, and the movie has been shelved for the time being. According to Peepingmoon.com, the studio didn't approve the budget Dhar was asking for as there is a risk involved in making films with huge budgets in the post-pandemic times. ## The report further stated Aditya Dhar has halted the pre-production work and the crew involved with this film has also been relieved now as he understands that there is definitely a big risk with this project. Disney-owned Star TV was the previous home of WBD content, but the deal with Star expired at the end of March this year.## The new landmark deal includes current and future seasons of HBO, Max Originals, and Warner Bros. shows. The upcoming television series will premiere on JioCinema on the same day as the U.S., making them exclusive to Indian viewers. It followed the titular cyborg as she discovered the truth about her identity, her friends, and the people who run the city she lives in. ## The movie ended on a cliffhanger, setting up the stage for a potential sequel. However, 20th Century Studios didn't seem too interested in the sequel, but the dedicated fans have been voicing for "Alita 2" to know the rest of the story.## Amid the continued demand, producer Jon Landau has finally provided good news regarding the sequel and said that the talks are happening for quite some time now. During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the "Avatar" producer confirmed that "We're working on it".## "I think what we've learned from Avatar is how much more facial nuance and subtlety that we can get into characters that we want to be emotional and emote that are humanoid.
