Blockbuster 'The Kerala Story' Completes 50 Days In Cinemas With Excellent Box Office Collection

Mumbai, June 24 - One of the biggest blockbusters post the covid-19 pandemic, director Sudipto Sen's The Kerala Story has completed 50 days in cinemas, which is no short of miraculous achievement. The movie has been in controversy since its release due to its subject but that couldn't stop it from scoring big numbers at the box office. ## The Kerala Story falls in similar lines as Vivek Agnihotri's last year's blockbuster The Kashmir Files. TKF, which took the opening of just 3.55 crores net, ended up as one of the biggest grosser of 2022 with over 250 crores net collection. ## Unlike TKF, The Kerala Story had a much bigger opening of 8.03 crores net, however, it is most likely to finish below TKF's final total. In 50 days, TKS has scored around 242 crores net (239 crores Hindi) collection, which is the second highest for a Bollywood movie in 2023, after Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, and 21st overall of all time in Hindi.## At the overseas box office, the Adah Sharma-fronted drama film has seen a good run with approx. 15.50 crores gross, this takes the total worldwide collection of the film to 302 crores. TKS is currently the 3rd highest-grossing Indian film of the year after Pathaan and Adipurush.## Both, The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files have been made in similar budgets of around 15-20 crores and both the movies have managed to top 300 crores worldwide gross each. Mumbai, June 22 - Director Om Raut's magnum opus Adipurush was one of the most-awaited films of the year and it proved with an excellent opening at the domestic box office. ## The effect of Ramayana, plus the star power of Prabhas worked wonders for the film in the opening weekend despite the negative word of mouth as the movie scored 261 crores gross in India. However, what happened next was unexpected as "Adipurush" slipped to a historic low after the opening weekend wonder. ## Despite the word of mouth being against the film, it was still expected to score at a decent level during the weekdays but it faced a near-complete rejection from the audiences. From Monday to Thursday, "Adipurush" grossed just around 46 crores domestically in all languages, for approx. 307 crores opening week domestic collection.## While the opening week numbers of "Adipurush" are big, the drastic fall during the weekdays has more or less sealed the fate of the film as it will be extremely tough to regain the momentum. Los Angeles, June 22 - The long-range box office projections for the upcoming Tom Cruise-fronted Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One are revealed and they are good enough to make it the biggest opener in the Mission Impossible franchise. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, MI7 is tracking for a franchise-best opening in the $90 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. On the other hand, Box Office Pro shared their projections that the film will open between $65 million and $80 million in its 3-day domestic opening weekend.## Should MI7 open as projected, it will be the biggest opener in the franchise, beating "Mission: Impossible - Fallout's" $61.2 million opening weekend in 2018. The first-time combo of SRK and Tamil director Atlee has grabbed the eyeballs and the movie is expected to explode at the box office upon its release.## "Jawan" is one of the costliest films of Shah Rukh Khan as it has been shot on a massive scale and boasts a super solid star cast. It commenced filming in late 2021 and the entire shoot was recently wrapped up with a song. It has been shot in over 160 days and the reported budget is approx. 200-250 crores. ## The makers have been tight-lipped about the movie so far, but the latest reports have revealed some key details regarding the film. It is said that "Jawan" is a VFX-heavy film and is behind only SRK's "Ra.One". It is the third highest-grossing of the year, behind Universal's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" ($572 million) and Marvel/Disney's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" ($345 million). ## internationally, it has scored $215.9 million so far, which brings its worldwide tally to a mighty $506.3 million. It is the 4th biggest worldwide grosser after "Super Mario" ($1.3 billion), "GoTG3" ($822 million), and "Fast X" ($679 million). ## The movie opened at $208.6 million globally, including $120.5 million at the domestic box office.
