Chennai, August 18 - The trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) scored 34+ million views in the first 24 hours on YouTube, emerging one of the most viewed South Indian movie trailers. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the GOAT trailer scored 29.25+ million views in the original Tamil version, making it the second most-viewed Tamil trailer of all time in the first 24 hours, behind only Leo (32 million), also headlined by Vijay.## Overall, it is the 4th most-viewed trailer in a single South Indian language, after Guntur Kaaram (37.60 million), Salaar Part 1 (32.50 million), and Leo. Apart from the Tamil version, the GOAT trailer scored 3.25 million views in Hindi and 2.30 million views in the Telugu version, for 34.75+ million overall views during the said period. ## Produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT star Vijay in a dual role as a father and son. The makers have used de-age technology to create the son's character. Superstar Mohanlal's 'Barroz' Gets A New Release Date

Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has once again been postponed from September 12 and is now to be released on October 3rd during the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. ## Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. On Saturday (August 17), Mohanlal took to social media to announce the new release date. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year.## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and then to September 2024 release, and will not hit theaters in October.## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. Mumbai, August 17 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped the 100 crores net collection and become the fastest Bollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat, reaching the milestone in less than 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the blockbuster sequel scored approximately 91.70 crores net in the first 2 days, including previews. On its third day (first Saturday), it scored an estimated 43+ crores net and with that, the movie has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie and 10th Indian movie of the year to do so.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the 7th film of Shraddha Kapoor and the second for Rajkummar Rao (after Stree) to top 100 crores net collection. Rishab Shetty-fronted action thriller Kantara won the Best Actor award to Shetty and the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Mumbai, August 16 - Marvel Studios and Disney's superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has officially become the highest-grossing R-rated (equivalent to A-rating in India) movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Warner Bros. Pictures' Joker. ## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles, Deadpool & Wolverine has earned $1.08+ billion globally so far, which takes it past Joker which had grossed $1.07 billion in its lifetime run. These two are the only R-rated movies to top $1 billion worldwide.## As reported earlier, Deadpool 3 is the first Disney-released Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 to top $1 billion globally, and, it is also the first R-rated movie released by Disney. Overall, it is the first MCU title since Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) to reach the milestone.## Earlier, the third Deadpool instalment scored the biggest opening of 2024 at the domestic (North America and Worldwide box office with $211 million and $444 million, respectively.
