Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR's 'War 2' Confirmed For IMAX Release

Mumbai, June 26 - The countdown has begun for Yash Raj Films' mega-budgeted spy action thriller War 2, which is set to hit the big screen in 50 days on August 14. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, it is easily the most anticipated Bollywood movie of the year, carrying massive hype among the audience. ## On Thursday (June 26), the makers dropped new posters featuring the lead trio and confirmed that War 2 will also be released in IMAX along with other formats in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. It is said that YRF has already booked all the IMAX screens available in India for the movie. Box Office: 'Kuberaa' Hits 100 Crore Worldwide In 6 Days

Hyderabad, June 25 - Director Sekhar Kammula's drama thriller Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, is turning out to be a big success at the box office as it has topped 100 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days. ## Released on June 20, the film has been soaring at the box office, thanks to the positive word of mouth. After scoring the biggest opening weekend for Dhanush and Nagarjuna, Kubraa is holding very well during the weekdays, and has managed to surpass 100 crores gross as I type this. ## In the first 5 days, through Tuesday, the film grossed an estimated 97 crores worldwide, including approximately 72 crores in India and 25 crores at the overseas box office. On its 6th day of business, it has entered the 100 crores club, becoming the 5th Telugu movie of the year to do so. ## Kuberaa is the 4th movie of Dhanush to hit 100 crores gross worldwide, after "Raayan" (also his highest-grossing movie), Vaathi/Sir, and Thiruchitrambalam. Interestingly, all four 100 crores grossers for Dhanush have come in the post-COVID-19 era. ## For Nagarjuna, it is his first 100 crores grosser, other than Brahmastra: Part 1, in which he played a cameo role, while Rashmika Mandanna scored her 9th 100 crore grosser. Mumbai, June 25 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn returns as Jassi Randhawa in the upcoming romantic action comedy Son of Sardaar 2, which is slated to hit the big screen on July 25 amid big expectations. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, it is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar. ## Son of Sardaar 2 will see mostly a new-looking star cast as Sanjay Dutt, Sonakashi Sinha, and Juhi Chawala, who were part of the first movie, won't be returning for the sequel. It was already confirmed that Mrunal Thakur is the female lead this time, alongside others. ## Meanwhile, ahead of exactly a month before the release date, the makers have revealed the complete star cast of Son of Sardaar 2 with a new poster. Mumbai, June 24 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par scored a good hold on Monday after the better-than-expected opening weekend collection at the domestic and worldwide box office with around 96 crores gross. ## Enjoying the superb word of mouth, Sitaare Zameen Par has topped 100 crores worldwide gross collection on Monday, becoming the 8th Bollywood movie of the year to achieve the feat. In India, the film has minted around 80 crores gross, while overseas collection is an estimated 30 crores, for the worldwide cume total of around 110 crores in 4 days. ## Needless to say, Sitaare Zameen Par is one of the surprise box office successes of the year. Released amid low buzz, the film opened to around 13 crores gross, before showing near-perfect 100% growth on Saturday, followed by another solid jump on Sunday as the opening weekend finished around 69 crores in India. ## The good hold on Monday has ensured that SZP may have a solid run; however, there is Ajay Devgn's production horror thriller "Maa", starring Kajol, that is releasing this Friday amid a decent buzz. Hyderabad, June 23 - Director Sekhar Kammula's Telugu-Tamil drama thriller Kuberaa starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna scored an excellent opening weekend, exceeding expectations at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Kuberaa recorded strong occupancies throughout the weekend, especially for the Telugu version. The movie opened to an excellent collection on Friday, grossing over 17 crores domestically. Of which, the Telugu version generated over 11.50 crores gross, which is around 65% of the total business. ## The opening day biz was driven by strong word of mouth, which translated into bigger numbers on Saturday and Sunday. The film finished the 3-day opening weekend with a gross collection of around 57 crores, including around 40 crores gross in the Telugu version. ## Overseas, Kuberaa grossed an estimated 23 crores, for a worldwide total of around 80 crores. This is the biggest opening weekend for Dhanush and Nagarjuna. Kochi, June 23 - After the official announcement, director Jeethu Joseph has dropped a major update regarding Drishyam 3. There have been speculations that the Hindi version of this crime suspense thriller will be different, unlike the first two movies, which were remakes of the original Malayalam films. ## During a recent conversation with the Times of India, director Jeethu Joseph, who directed the first two Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 and will return for the third instalment, said that the script of the upcoming film is nearing completion and contrary to the rumours, he confirmed the plot will be same in all versions. ## "There have been reports that the Hindi version will have a different story, but that's not true. The Hindi film will also be based on my story. Once I complete my script, it will be shared with the Hindi team, who will then adapt it to suit their setting and make suitable cultural changes", the filmmaker said. ## Both Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 will start rolling in October this year. There were rumours that the Malayalam movie would be released before the Hindi, but Jeethu Joseph hinted that both versions may have a simultaneous release. ## "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release. So, we have been discussing the prospect of releasing the films simultaneously. In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film's impact in other languages", he added. ## It is confirmed that Drishyam 3 Hindi will be directed by Abhishek Pathak and will see Ajay Devgn and the rest of the cast reprising their roles. The weekend biz of the movie is a classic case of the unpredictability of the box office, which can turn the tide either way of expectations. ## SZP, directed by RS Prasanna, scored the opening of a little over 10 crores net, something which would have been considered a disaster start for an Aamir Khan-starrer before the COVID-19 pandemic, but not in the present time, when big openings are no longer guaranteed, even for a superstar's film. ## It was still the lowest opening for Aamir Khan since Ghajini (10.20 crores net), but it can be called decent given the fact that there weren't high expectations from it, as trade was expecting below the double-digit start. This is the biggest second-day jump for a Bollywood movie with a double-digit start. ## According to early estimates, the film has scored in the range of 21-22+ crores net on Saturday, which takes its total collection to around 32 crores net in 2 days. The third instalment of it was recently confirmed for October 2, 2026, release. According to the report by Pinkvilla, the movie will start its shooting journey exactly a year before its theatrical debut. ## "The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise (those who have watched would know why), and hence, the makers are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025", says the report. ## Ajay Devgn has already reportedly allotted his dates for Drishyam 3, which will be shot at real locations of Maharashtra, as well as the studio set up during a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months. The script of the film is already locked, and the makers are working on the dialogue draft at the moment. ## The entire cast of the franchise, along with director Abhishek Pathak, will return for the third instalment. Hyderabad, June 21 - Tamil star Dhanush returns to Telugu cinema with director Sekhar Kammula's action thriller Kuberaa, after scoring a blockbuster with his debut Telugu film in the form of Vaathi/SIR (2023). The movie also stars Telugu veteran Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh in prominent roles. ## Kuberaa has been making noise for the last couple of weeks after the release of the teaser and trailer, which perfectly set the tone for the movie to score a big opening. Although the advances for the movie were not as big as the trade had thought, for some reason, the movie opened to an excellent collection all over. ## Kuberaa has taken the biggest opening for Dhanush with a worldwide collection coming in the range of 27 crores gross.
