Aamir Khan's Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic With Rajkumar Hirani In Jeopardy

Mumbai, September 17 - Earlier this year, superstar Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani announced their reunion for the biopic of legendary Dadasaheb Phalke. The news created a stir among the fans as the blockbuster duo, who delivered two iconic films in 3 Idiots and PK, came together after more than a decade for their third collaboration. The movie was expected to be a landmark film for both Aamir and Hirani, but cut to a few months later, the much-awaited collab has hit a roadblock. According to the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, the Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic has been put on hold, and the reason is the script. It is said that Aamir Khan heard the script from Hirani and felt that it didn't have enough elements to make for a theatrical watch. The perfectionist wanted Hirani to have a typical approach of mixing laughter with emotion and drama. But the script was devoid of comedy, which raised a doubt in the mind of Aamir, and he requested Raju to rewrite the script and come back. The report further stated that Rajkumar Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi were shocked by Aamir's reaction and are now figuring out what to do next. The movie, which was supposed to go on floors by October this year, has now been delayed indefinitly, as per Bollywood Hungama. The Dangal star is now reportedly hearing other scripts for his next. Top Bollywood Films Post-Pandemic Footfalls Ranking: Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan Leads As Six Movies Top 3 Crore Admits

Mumbai, September 14 – The post-pandemic era has been a rollercoaster for Bollywood, with the industry witnessing both unprecedented highs and major setbacks. The box office dynamics in this age and era have changed drastically, where the brand value doesn't guarantee success. However, in the post-pandemic world, Bollywood has reached new highs, not just once, but on many occasions, with record collections, and those films have managed to pull massive footfalls, reaffirming the enduring charm of the big screen. According to the estimates, six Bollywood blockbusters have managed to breach the coveted 3 crore footfalls mark since cinemas reopened in late 2021, proving that audiences are still willing to flock to theatres when offered the right blend of entertainment, star power, and emotion. Topping the list is Shah Rukh Khan's action phenomenon Jawan, which stands tall with 3.80 crore admissions, making it the most-watched Bollywood film of the post-pandemic period. The film's pan-India appeal, coupled with Atlee's mass entertainer packaging, made it a cultural event across the country. Not far behind is SRK's comeback film Pathaan, which kick-started the revival wave for Hindi cinema in early 2023. Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, fueled by nostalgia and patriotic fervour, follows closely with over 3.40 crore admissions, proving that emotional connect remains as powerful as ever. Ranbir Kapoor's intense action drama Animal registered over 3 crore admissions, marking it as a remarkable run for an A-rated film in India. Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree 2 and Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava were among the biggest surprises in recent times as they managed to top 3 crore admissions each in India. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule remains the biggest blockbuster in Hindi with an estimated 3.90 crores tickets sold. Top Bollywood Films' Theatrical Performance In Post-Covid Era (Est.) No Valentine's Day Release: Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Pandey's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Gets Rescheduled To An Earlier Date

Mumbai, September 14 – Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's much-awaited romantic comedy drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has undergone a major release date shift after backing out of Valentine's Day debut. The film, which was earlier locked for February 13, 2026, will now arrive much earlier, hitting the big screens on January 31, 2025, coinciding with the New Year's weekend. The decision to prepone the release has surprised many, but the industry insider believes that it is to avoid the Valentine's Day rush as well as the film's early availability. By arriving in January instead of February, the film has secured a relatively open window. The New Year period is also considered a lucrative time for releases, with audiences in a festive mood and ready to embrace big-screen spectacles. Produced on a grand scale by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, Tu Meri Main Tera marks another collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday after their earlier pairing in Pati Patni Aur Woh. It also marks Kartik's reunion with director Sameer Vidwans after Satyeprem Ki Katha. The romantic entertainer is said to be high on music, emotions, and youthful charm — making it a potential crowd-puller. With its new release date locked, Tu Meri Main Tera now becomes one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of early 2026. Fans of Kartik and Ananya can look forward to celebrating the New Year with a fresh dose of romance on the big screen. Rajinikanth's Coolie Shatters Aamir Khan's Superhero Dream With Lokesh Kanagaraj?

Mumbai, September 13 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's courtesy cameo in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's recently released Coolie seems to have backfired. The actor played a cameo role as Dahaa, a gangster, in the film, which didn't go as planned for him. While Aamir Khan called his cameo a big moment as he got to share screen space with Rajinikanth, the audience didn't resonate with this character, and called it one of the weakest parts of the film. Apart from the cameo, the Dangal star also confirmed a full-fledged superhero film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, which was supposed to start rolling next year. There have been reports that Aamir Khan's superhero film with Lokesh has been shelved after the criticism for his cameo in Coolie. Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the duo has indeed parted ways, but the reason is not Coolie, but rather the script. "Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj have parted ways on their next film. The real reason the project was shelved is the script. While Aamir prefers to have the entire screenplay locked much in advance, Lokesh believes in the idea of having a draft in place and writing through the process of shooting," says the report. It is said that Aamir Khan wanted Lokesh to fully focus on the script as he believed that it had the scope to redefine Indian Cinema. However, the director insisted on following his own process of work, which didn't go well with the actor on the creative front, and decided to part ways on a good note with the intent of collaborating in the future. YRF Spy Universe Footfalls Ranking: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan Leads, Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR's War 2 Trails Behind

Mumbai, September 12 - Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe has been one of the biggest crowd-pullers over the year. From Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, which shattered records back in 2012, to Shah Rukh Khan's record-breaking Pathaan, Spy Universe has proved its stamina in attracting audiences to theatres. However, just like a coin has two sides, Spy Universe too is showing the sign of fatigue after peaking with Pathaan in 2023. It has been over a decade since the franchise kicked off, but over the past few years, the cinema has evolved, which has started reflecting in the Spy Universe with the underperformance of Tiger 3 and War 2. The biggest downfall for the YRF Spy Universe came with the recently released War 2. The Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR-fronted failed to score even half the admissions of Ek Tha Tiger at the domestic box office, despite a much bigger scale and a bigger market. Ek Tha Tiger, despite only releasing in Hindi, sold a huge 2.47 crores tickets in India, and is the third most-watched Spy Universe film in theatres after Tiger Zinda Hai and Pathaan. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, meanwhile, remains the path-breaker film in the series. It is not only the most-watched film with approximately 3.50 crores admissions, but also the first and the only film in the Spy Universe to gross over 1000 crores gross at the worldwide box office. The record is likely to remain intact until Pathaan 2, which is expected to start after the upcoming Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol. Stay tuned...

Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR's War 2 Final Worldwide Box Office Collection, Verdict, and Records

Mumbai, September 12 – Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy action thriller War 2 has ended up as one of the major box office disappointments of recent times. It was one of the most-awaited films of the year, carrying the legacy of 2019's blockbuster War. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie promised high-octane action, cutting-edge visuals, and the first-ever collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar Jr. NTR. However, despite the hype and sky-high expectations, War 2 massively underperformed, not just at the domestic but also the overseas box office, wrapping up its run on a disappointing note as the second-lowest-grossing film in the YRF Spy Universe. It is the costliest film in the famous Spy Universe, with over 400 crores. War 2 started struggling with the advance sales itself as it failed to build the moment despite the star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, along with the brand value of the franchise. The pre-sales trend was clearly reflected in the opening, which was also affected by the negative reviews. Here Is The Final Worldwide Box Office Breakdown of War 2 (expected) India Net Box Office Collection₹ 237.00 CrHindi Net Box Office Collection₹ 178.00 Cr India Gross Box Office Collection₹ 283.00 Cr Overseas Box Office Collection₹ 82.00 Cr Worldwide Box Office Collection₹ 365.00 Cr India Footfalls/Admits1.20 Cr approx. Box Office VerdictFlop The Hindi version, which was expected to lead the charge, finished below 200 crores net as the lowest in the Spy Universe and far below the benchmarks set by other spy universe outings like Pathaan and War. However, the big letdown was the Telugu version, which couldn't even cross 100 crores domestically despite the presence of one of the biggest stars of South Indian cinema. As a result of poor collections, War 2 finished below 300 crores gross domestically. In the overseas market, the collections were also not up to the level the franchise has set over the year, reaching 82 crores gross, a low figure for a film of this scale. It has also been the least-watched movie in the Spy Universe. Despite its lavish scale, budget, star power, and action-packed marketing campaign, War 2 failed to resonate with audiences beyond the initial buzz. Weak storytelling, mixed word-of-mouth, and high expectations worked against it. For YRF’s spy universe, which has otherwise delivered record-smashing successes, War 2 serves as a reminder that brand value alone cannot guarantee box office glory. Stay tuned...

Mumbai, September 11 - Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Ek Tha Tiger (2012), starring superstar Salman Khan, is returning to theatres. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is the foundation stone of YRF's blockbuster Spy Universe. Originally released in August 2012, Ek Tha Tiger was a massive success and went on to become a blockbuster at the worldwide box office. With 320 crores worldwide, it was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2012 and the second-highest-grossing of all time at that time, behind Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots (350 crores worldwide). Salman Khan's Meeting With Rajnath Singh Clears Roadblocks for Battle of Galwan Shoot

Mumbai, September 10 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has commenced shooting for Battle of Galwan, and recently met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to seek assistance for the smooth progress of the same. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, has faced several logistical challenges in obtaining permissions to shoot in the sensitive Ladakh region. According to Bollywood Hungama, the meeting, which lasted for about 45 minutes, proved crucial in clearing hurdles that were threatening to delay the project. The production team had been concerned about losing the narrow Ladakh shooting window, which could have derailed their schedule. Salman's direct approach to the Defence Minister ensured that the issues were taken up at the highest level. During the discussion, Rajnath Singh assured Salman Khan that the government would extend full support in facilitating the shoot. However, he placed a very clear condition - the film should not defame China. It is said that the Defence Minister stressed on the importance of maintaining diplomatic sensitivity, especially at a time when New Delhi and Beijing are working towards stabilising bilateral ties. Salman Khan reportedly agreed to this condition without hesitation. He clarified that the Battle of Galwan is not conceived as an anti-China film but as a tribute to the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces. The actor assured Singh that the film would focus on honouring the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and would instil national pride without disturbing diplomatic relations. The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is currently being shot in Ladakh. It will be released in the first half of 2026. Stay tuned...
