The 67th National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi on Monday. The ceremony bestowed honors on the best films and top artists for the year 2019. Jeethu Joseph To Direct Venkatesh In Telugu Remake Of Malayalam Film 'Drishyam 2'

Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie, Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 19 and it is getting brilliant reviews from the viewers. The Telugu remake of this suspense thriller is already in work with Jeethu Joseph returning to helm the much-anticipated remake with Telugu superstar Venkatesh. ## Released in 2014, the Telugu remake of Drishyam, titled Drushyam was directed by Sripriya, but this time, the sequel will be directed by Jeethu himself who shot to national fame with Mohanlal starrer. Venkatesh, who starred in Drushyam, will carry forward his role in the sequel. ## Jeethu Joseph announced the sequel of the Telugu remake. He also confirmed that the shooting will begin next month in March and will be wrapped up as soon as possible. It has been reported that Jeethu has already landed in Hyderabad and had been in talks with multiple people involved in the project.## Talking about Drushyam, the film tells the story of Rambabu (Venkatesh), a middle-class cable TV operator, and his family. They come under suspicion when Varun, the son of the Inspector-general of police (IG), goes missing soon after harassing Rambabu's daughter. The rest of the film reveals how Varun disappeared and what Rambabu does to keep his family from going to prison. ## Drushyam had Meena and Esther Anil from the original cast of Drishyam. Nadhiya played the role of the police officer whose son is murdered by Rambabu's daughter. ## Mohanlal's Drishyam has been remade in several languages including Hindi, Sinhalese, and Mandarin. Nishikant Kamat directed the Hindi remake and it starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta. Last year, Pawan Kalyan had announced his 27th film on his 49th birthday on September 2, tentatively titled PSPK27 with the director Krish. Now, the big-budgeted period drama film has got its leading lady in Niddhi Agerwal. ## Talking to IANS, the actress confirmed that she will be starring opposite Pawan Kalyan in his next film. "Yes, I am doing a film with Pawan Kalyan and it feels like a dream come true to be a part of this particular project. This is my ninth film, so I am looking at this as my golden film". ## Talking about shooting with Pawan Kalyan, Niddhi gushes, "He is simply amazing and so good to work with. All I can say is that he is the best!" ## According to reports, Krish recently shot some scenes including a song on Niddhi, and finalized her opposite Pawan Kalyan. The makers of the film are currently making preparations for another schedule which is going to resume very soon. Ravi Teja starrer Telugu movie, Krack, has been a box office blockbuster despite the pandemic and 50% seating capacity of theaters. It was released on January 9, and in no time, the movie emerged as a Sankranthi blockbuster. Fans showered their love for the movie by watching it in cinemas in large numbers. ## Though Krack got a positive response from the audience, it could have been bigger if there had not been the covid-19 pandemic. Keeping that in mind, the makers of the movie decided to premiere it on the digital platform after three weeks of theatrical release. Vakeel Saab Teaser: Pawan Kalyan Returns In Style With Intense Courtroom Drama

It has been a long enough wait for Pawan Kalyan fans to watch superstar on the big screen after the 2018 release Agnyaathavaasi. Well, the wait is finally going to end soon as actor-turned-politician is making a comeback with the upcoming film, Vakeel Saab. The teaser of the much-anticipated film was unleashed on the occasion of Pongal (January 14). ## The teaser of Vakeel Saab, which is the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Amitabh Bachchan's Pink, which dealt with the subject of consent, gives a glimpse of Pawan Kalyan as a lawyer in a powerful character in the intense courtroom-drama. ## The minute-long teaser video promises an action-packed show that includes action sequences shot inside a metro where Pawan Kalyan is giving a face breaking treatment to the goons. ## Not much has been revealed in the teaser but this looks exciting and promises high-voltage drama. The remake will see Shruti Haasan in an important role apart from Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, and Ananya Nagalla reprising Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari, and Andrea Tariang's role from the original.## Directed by Venu Sriram, Vakeel Saab jointly produced by Boney Kapoor, Dil Raju, and Sirish. Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has completed one year from its release today (January 12). Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, this action-family-drama emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in the Tollywood industry and shattered the many box office records. ## Now, as the movie turns one, Telugu star Allu Arjun on Tuesday celebrated the success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. He had a reunion with the film's team, including the leading actress of the movie, Pooja Hegde, and director Trivikram Srinivas. ## Sharing a pic of the reunion, Allu Arjun posted on Instagram, "One year ReUnion of AVPL. He decides to carve a place for himself within the family he truly belongs to.## Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo got a massive response from the audience at the box office. Made in a budget of over Rs. 100 crores, it grossed INR 269.35 crores worldwide. It also became only the third Telugu movie after Baahubali Part 1 & 2 to reach INR 200 crores mark in India as it collected INR 200.98 crores net in India. ## Along with the film, its soundtrack was also a big hit, with songs such as "Butta bomma" and "Samajavaragamana" becoming chartbusters. ## Stay tuned...
