The movie has been one of the highest-rated films worldwide on rating sites and now, it has set one more rating record. ## On the ticketing platform, Book My Show, the "Kantara" Kannada version has hit a 9.9 rating from 100K votes which is an all-time record on the platform. Bengaluru, October 20 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's adventure action thriller film Kantara is holding phenomenally well over the weekdays at the domestic box office. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" is on course to enter Rs. 200 crores club at the worldwide box office. At the time of its release, even Rs. 100 crores was looking like a far cry but such has been the response to the movie from audiences across the country, Rs. 200 crores now looks well within reach. ## The movie has grossed approx. 170 crores worldwide in 20 days and by the end of its week, it is expected to reach about 175 crores. With the Diwali holidays upfront, "Kantara" should reach the milestone despite the fact that there are many films releasing this weekend across languages. ## "Kantara" has grossed approx. 120 crores in the original Kannada version, followed by Telugu with approx. 18 crores (5 days), and Hindi with approx. 15 crores (6 days). In other words, the Rishab Shetty-starrer is setting new benchmarks for mid-range films. ## In one of Kantara's biggest achievements of its box office run so far, it has scored the 4th biggest 3rd Sunday at the Indian box office of all time. It scored 18.15 crores net on its 17th day (3rd Sunday) for all languages, including itself some of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## The highest 3rd Sunday box office collection belongs to SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster "Baahubali: The Conclusion" with 32 crores net in all languages, followed by "KGF: Chapter 2" (the highest Indian grosser of 2022) with 21.5 crores net, and Rajamouli "RRR" (2nd highest of 2022) with 20.5 crores net. ## Meanwhile, "Kantara" has also crossed the 100 crores gross mark in the home state, Karnataka, and becomes only the 4th movie ever to do so after two "KGF" films and "Baahubali 2". Bengaluru, October 16 - Hombale Films' adventure action thriller Kantara has had the biggest day of its box office run so far on its 3rd Sunday. The movie went overdrive to clock the mammoth as the early estimates suggest 23 crores gross on its 17th day for all languages. ## The Rishab Shetty-starrer has already become the non-KGF highest-grossing Kannada movie at the worldwide box office and with 3rd Sunday's collection has reached about 140 crores gross, including 100 approx. 100 crores in Karnataka state. ## The Hindi version of the movie was released on October 14 after the huge demand and it performed well in the opening weekend by clocking 9.50 crores gross, including an estimated 4.70 crores on Sunday. The Telugu version was released a day later to Hindi and has grossed approx. 9.70 crores in just two days.## Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam's mega-blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 has had another big day at the domestic box office, grossing an estimated 8.75-9 crores gross on its 3rd Sunday. Bengaluru, October 16 - On the day of Prithviraj Sukumaran's 40th birthday (October 16), Hombale Films unveiled the first look poster of his character and officially announced the actor onboard Salaar, fronted by Prabhas. ## Prithviraj Sukumaran was approached for "Salaar" in early 2021, but things didn't work out as he was busy with Jordan and Algeria shoots for Blessy's pandemic-delayed epic survival thriller "Aadu Jeevitham". However, luck was with him as the "Salaar" shoot was delayed due to the covid and the makers finally managed to get his dates before he officially came on board. ## The "Ayyappanum Koshiyum" actor, however, was always interested in this Prashanth Neel's directorial and there are multiple reasons for him to say yes to this high-octane action thriller film. During an interview with Variety, the actor revealed what made to sign the movie. ## "There are multiple reasons why 'Salaar' would be a no-brainer for anybody to say yes to – it's a Prashanth Neel film, a Hombale Films production and it is Prabhas' film. It is Prabhas' return to mainstream mass commercial cinema after a while. His films post 'Saaho' have been slightly away from the mass action genre", he said.## Prabhas plays the title role in the movie, and according to Prithviraj, most part of the film revolves around Prabhas and his own character, named Vardharaja Mannaar. With this, he has also confirmed his full-fledged role, contrary to the reports of an extended cameo. ## "I deem it a privilege that somebody like Prashanth Neel, post 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' thought it was worth waiting for me to be able to join the film. The sensational blockbuster movie grossed approx. 50 crores in India during the second week, helping itself reach 85.6 crores gross in just two weeks while the worldwide total stands at 93.6 crores. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" has been competing with the biggest Kannada blockbuster of all time, KGF: Chapter 2 in the home state, Karnataka, and is leading the Yash-starrer after 5th day at the box office. Thanks to the blockbuster trending at the box office so far, "Kantara" has set an all-time record in Karnataka for the second week. ## "Kantara" has grossed 46.42 crores in the state in the second week, which is the biggest ever.
