Low Budget 'Kantara' Scores 4th Biggest 3rd Sunday For An Indian Movie; Crosses 100 Crores In Karnataka Box Office

Bengaluru, October 17 - Hombale Films' adventure action thriller, Kantara was made on a budget of approx. 16 crores but the movie is outperforming most of the big-budget Indian biggies at the box office. In other words, the Rishab Shetty-starrer is setting new benchmarks for mid-range films.
In one of Kantara's biggest achievements of its box office run so far, it has scored the 4th biggest 3rd Sunday at the Indian box office of all time. It scored 18.15 crores net on its 17th day (3rd Sunday) for all languages, including itself some of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time.
The highest 3rd Sunday box office collection belongs to SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster "Baahubali: The Conclusion" with 32 crores net in all languages, followed by "KGF: Chapter 2" (the highest Indian grosser of 2022) with 21.5 crores net, and Rajamouli "RRR" (2nd highest of 2022) with 20.5 crores net.
Meanwhile, "Kantara" has also crossed the 100 crores gross mark in the home state, Karnataka, and becomes only the 4th movie ever to do so after two "KGF" films and "Baahubali 2". It has achieved this milestone in just 17 days.
The humongous success of "Kantara" is fast establishing Hombale Films as one of the biggest and most successful production companies in the country. "KGF" is a Hombale Films franchise that gave it nationwide recognition and now with "Kantara", the studio has taken a giant step towards becoming the most trusted and respectable brand in film production.
