Los Angeles, May 3, 2021: Marvel Studios has announced the upcoming scheduled movies under its Phase 4 slate. In and amongst the slate is new footage from "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", as well as the very first glimpse of "Eternals".## The studio has also confirmed the titles for two of the franchise's upcoming sequels — "Captain Marvel: The Marvels", and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". Los Angeles, May 3, 2021: As the covid-19 pandemic is slowing down in North America, the theaters in the USA have started to reopen after more than a year. Among them, Los Angeles' "New Beverly Cinema", which is owned and operated by filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, is also set to see the light again.## In a post shared on its social media channels and website Saturday, the historic revival theater (located on 7165 Beverly Blvd.) announced plans to reopen on June 1. Los Angeles, May 2, 2021: The next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and 4th film in the Thor franchise, "Thor: Love and Thunder" is on the verge of completing the shoot. Directed by Taika Waititi, the filming on Thor: Love and Thunder has been underway since late January in Australia. ## The director said that the fourth film in the Thor franchise might be the best Marvel film ever. "Filming is going great. We've got four weeks left, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It might be the best Marvel film ever!", Waititi told Weekend Today (via comicbook). ## The movie stars Chris Hemsworth as a mighty superhero Thor, along with Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Natalie Portman, who last appeared in 2013's Thor: The Dark World before reprising her role in 2019's Endgame, is also returning to Love And Thunder as Jane Foster. The movie will also see Jaimie Alexander as Sif and Jeff Goldblum as Ragnarok's cosmic Grandmaster along with the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy.## On reuniting with Hemsworth, Waititi said, "He is a funny guy, he's a good friend and he's also someone that you just want to hang out with all the time. Los Angeles, April 28, 2021: Chadwick Boseman's family has a message for those saying the late actor got snubbed from an Oscar. Chadwick's brother Derrick Boseman spoke to TMZ, and said that his family has no hard feeling following the 93rd Academy Awards as every nominated actor in the category was deserving of the award. ## Anthony Hopkins, who played the role of a man who has dementia and constantly forgets important life events in the movie "The Father", won the Oscars of the Best Actor over presumed frontrunner Boseman. Hopkins, after winning his second Oscar, released a belated acceptance speech the morning after the Academy Awards, which aired on 25 April, including the shoutout to Boseman. ## Boseman's family congratulated Hopkins and his family, as Derrick put it, "I'm sure [Anthony] would if Chad won". Derrick says Chadwick wasn't one to put too much value on the Oscars anyway. Derrick says Chadwick "always described them to me as a campaign. Yes, an Oscar would have been an achievement, but was never an obsession for him". ## To the surprise of many viewers, the Best Actor category concluded the Oscars ceremony (25 April) when it is typically Best Picture that closes the evening's events. Some have speculated that producers moved Best Actor to the end as they had predicted Boseman would win the prize for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" which won two Oscars for Best Makeup And Hair, and Best Costume Design. ## Chadwick Boseman was died last year on August 29 due to colon cancer at the age of 43. Director Adam Wingard, who has helmed "Godzilla vs. Kong", is in talks to return to direct the new monster film. ## "Godzilla vs. Kong", which debuted in theaters on March 31 in the USA, has grossed over $400 million at the box office, marking the highest-grossing Hollywood release of the pandemic era. The movie was released simultaneously on the streaming platform, HBO Max as part of Warner Bros' multi-platform release strategy for the studio's 2021 slate. ## "Godzilla vs. Kong" is the fourth movie in the franchise since Legendary kicked off their MonsterVerse plans, after partnering with Japan's Toho Studios for 2014's "Godzilla". Los Angeles, April 27, 2021: The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, which was held in the early morning (as per IST) on Monday (April 26), couldn't grab the attention of the audience, as the TV Ratings of the ceremony was all-time low as per early numbers. ## This year's Oscars joined the recent awards shows such as Grammys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards, which witnessed a sharp decline in tv viewing from the previous year. As per early numbers, the 93rd Oscars drew 9.85 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults of 18-49 on Sunday. However, the final numbers may increase after they come out on Tuesday. ## Last year, the numbers were high with 23.64 million viewers and 5.3 ratings in the key ad demographic. The decline of 58 percent for Oscars 2021 is the second-highest after Golden Globes (62 percent) in the recently organized award shows. The Grammys and SAG Awards also had witnessed a decline of more than 50 percent from their previous year. ## Despite making changes in the format of the show, the reviews for the Oscars were mixed. Los Angeles, April 24, 2021: Marvel's one of the highly successful, Captain America series is set to get longer. When Captain America got a retired role in Avengers: Endgame, many speculated that this could be the last outing for 'Cap' in Marvel movies, however, things have changed with Disney+ and Marvel's "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" series. ## Malcolm Spellman, the head writer, and creator of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is developing a fourth installment of the Captain America film franchise for Marvel Studios. Spellman will co-write the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on Falcon and the Winter Soldier.## No castings for the project are officially known yet. Up until this point, Chris Evans has played Captain America via the Steve Rogers character, appearing in a trio of solo movies along with Avengers outings, and assorted other Marvel films. ## The story of "Captain America 4" is likely to continue with Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, and the current wielder of the shield.
