Box Office: Drishyam 2 Third Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, December 6 - Drishyam 2 is heading for yet another fantastic day at the box office as the early estimate collections suggest approx 2.75 crores net on its 3rd Tuesday. The film has shown a drop of around 10% which is fantastic.## The third Tuesday collections will take the entire box office collections to around 192.50cr net box office mark. The film will hit the 200cr net mark by this Friday or at worst by Saturday. There is no competition at the box office till the release of "Avatar 2". No doubt Avatar 2 will hit the collections of Drishyam 2 but it will still be left with enough capacity to collect well as we are in the age of multiplexes where multiple films can collect well if the content is liked by the audience.## Drishyam2 continues its extraordinary trend in Mumbai and Gujarat circuits. The film is eyeing the record of Sooryavanshi which is the highest-grossing film in the circuit post-pandemic for Hindi films. Drishyam2 is already ahead in Mumbai but since Sooryavanshi was released on Diwali which helps the Gujarat market to overperform the overall collections are still behind. In the final run, Drishyam2 will likely cross the numbers of Sooryavanshi. ## The big achievement for Drishyam2 is going to be the 300cr worldwide collection which is very much achievable and will be the third 300cr worldwide film of Ajay Devgn after Tanhaji and Golmaal Again. Mumbai, December 6 - Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 has emerged a blockbuster at the box office thanks to the outstanding trending of the film. The film is set to cross the 200cr mark at the box office and it is expected to put 225cr or more total in its final lifetime run. Drishyam 2 has emerged as the 5th blockbuster of Ajay Devgn's career though footfalls wise it will be his lowest. "Phool Aur Kaante" was the first blockbuster of Ajay Devgn's career which was his debut film in 1991. Later on, "Golmaal 3" (2010), "Golmaal Again" (2017), and "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" (2020) emerged as his other blockbusters. ## If we talk about 90s generation superstars then Salman Khan leads the most number of blockbuster count and that too by around 50% margin. In total, Salman Khan has delivered 15 Blockbusters at the box office and 9 of them came in the last decade only. Shah Rukh Khan with 10 Blockbusters occupies the second position on the list. Both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are the only stars who have crossed a double-digit number of blockbusters from 90s generation stars. Aamir Khan has delivered 9 Blockbusters at the box office while Akshay Kumar delivered 2 Blockbusters till now. ## If we go back further and include the stars from the golden period of the Hindi film industry then most of the 90s stars won't find a place in the list of most blockbusters. The most celebrated screen icon Amitabh Bachchan had around 15 blockbusters to his credit while the he-man of Bollywood Dharmendra had 11 Blockbusters. The legendary Dilip Kumar who ruled the silver screens from the late 1940s to the early 1960s had delivered close to 13 Blockbusters at the box office.## Then there were some phenomenal stars as well who ruled the industry and was number one star for a brief period like Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Rajendra Kumar, Jeetendra, and Sunny Deol who also delivered numerous blockbusters at the box office but cut it short Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Dilip Kumar are the three stars who are well above everyone in terms of blockbuster count.## Stay tuned...

The film will become the only third film to cross the 200cr mark after the pandemic along with The Kashmir Files and Brahmastra. Mumbai, 4th Dec 2022: Drishyam 2 continues its dream run at the box office as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 10.20cr net box office mark which is an outstanding number for a third Sunday. The growth from yesterday is around 20-25% which is huge as yesterday the film witnessed a nearly 90% jump in the collection and to go higher on the next day is simply superb. ## The third Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections of Drishayam2 to a huge 186.58cr net box office mark. The third-weekend collection of Drishyam2 is over 23cr net box office mark which will put it among the highest 3rd-weekend films of all time. The film has emerged as a blockbuster and now the question is whether the film can emerge as the highest-grossing film of the year or not. Drishayam2 needs to cross the 250cr net box office mark to become the highest-grossing film of the year which is pretty much possible seeing the extraordinary trend of the film. ## Bhediya which looked like a big underperformed after the first week has surprised on the weekdays with better holds and eventually saw some decent growth over the weekend. The second Sunday's early estimate collections are set to be around the 4.50cr net box office mark which will take the entire box office collections of Bhediya to over the 52.26cr mark. The lifetime total should cross the 65cr mark now thanks to the excellent business of the last two days. The film is an average performer at the box office though at one point in time it was looking like a rejected film. ## An Action Hero continues with low figures at the box office as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 2.40cr net box office mark which will take the total collections of the film to around 4.50cr net box office mark. Drishyam2 is heading for another huge day at the box office as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 8cr net box office mark which will mean a near 85-90% jump from yesterday. This type of growth was not seen before at least in an organic way. The growth is universal with Mumbai and Gujarat leading the way by huge margins. ## Drishyam2 is now a certified blockbuster film and the third Saturday will take the entire box office collections to over 175cr net box office mark. The lifetime total is set to be between 215cr to 225cr and even a higher total cannot be ruled out the way the film is performing at the box office. The film is set for further growth tomorrow and it should collect in double digits. The third weekend collections are likely to be around the 20-22cr net box office mark which will put it among the highest third-weekend collections of all time. ## Bhediya on the other hand also seen good growth at the box office as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 3cr net box office mark which is around 50% more compared to yesterday. The second Saturday collections will take the entire box office collections of the film to over the 47cr net box office mark. If the film shows another growth on Sunday which it should then the film might collect a 65-70cr net box office mark in the final run. The film will be a below-average performer at the box office. ## An Action Hero which had a low opening day collection has also seen growth but the growth is not big enough and when the starting point is so low then this kind of average growth won't help the film. The early estimate collections are set to be around the 1.70cr net box office mark which is again a low number but the positive is the trajectory and the hope is that the film gets a much-needed big growth on Sunday. The Blockbuster Drishyam2 continues to lead at the ticket window despite being in the third week of its box office run as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 4.20cr net box office mark which is an excellent third Friday number. The film had shown a drop in the region of 3-5% compared to yesterday which is phenomenal. No doubt Drishyam2 will continue to lead at the box office for this weekend as well and it won't be a surprise if the film alone puts a higher total than the combined business of Bhediya and An Action Hero. ## The third Friday collections will take the entire collections of Drishyam2 to around 167.68 cr depending on the actual third Friday collections. The film should target 18-20cr third weekend which is pretty much possible looking at the hold and the advance for the weekend. There is no doubt that the film will cross the 200cr net mark at the box office but whether it can challenge the numbers of Brahmastra and The Kashmir Files is yet to be known and if the film gets near 20cr third weekend then it's possible to reach those numbers. ## Bhediya on the other hand showed a steady hold on the second Friday as the early estimate collections are set to be around the 2cr net box office mark which is a low number but when you look at it from the other way the hold is decent enough the audience did not like the content and in the second week most film crashes but Bhediya can still have a healthy little run at the box office. The second Friday collections will take the entire collections of Bhediya to around the 44cr mark. The film should target 8-10cr second-weekend collections which will help the film to cross the 60cr mark in the final run. ## The new release of this week An Action Hero starring Ayushmann Khurrana took a dull start at the box office which was expected from the trailer and songs as they gave a feeling of a b-grade film. Action films are the best bets for initials but you have to have face value for that initial pull Ayushmann Khurana doesn't have any initial pull and on top of that he is not an action hero. The film is heading to collect around 1.50cr net box office mark on the first day. ## Stay tuned.

It is an extraordinary hold as the film has already collected more than 160cr at the box office despite that the drops are so less.## The second Thursday box office collections of Drishyam2 will take its entire collection to around the 163.50cr mark depending on the actual second Thursday collections. The second-week collections have also crossed the 60cr mark and very few films from the Hindi film industry have crossed that number in the second week. The film has emerged as a blockbuster and it is the 5th blockbuster in the hugely sustaining career of Ajay Devgn. There are only 6-7 stars in the history of Hindi cinema who crossed at least 25 hits and 5 blockbusters and Ajay Devgn is one of them. ## Bhediya on the other hand continues with a downward trajectory but holding really well as the early estimates are approx. 3 crores net which will mean a drop of around 10%. The first Thursday collections of Bhediya will take the entire box office collections of the film to just a little over the 42cr mark. ## The film will find it very hard to collect big numbers from here on as the first week has underperformed. Mumbai, November 30 - Drishyam 2 continues its fantastic run at the box office as the film has shown a below 10% drop only which is similar to yesterday's drop. The film has shown a tremendous hold over the weekdays not just this week but also in the first week. The hold over weekdays is the reason why this film is going to cross the 200 crores net box office mark. ## As per the early estimates, "Drishyam 2" scored an estimated approx. 4.85 crores net on its second Wednesday which will take the entire collection to approx 159.40cr. The second-week collections will be around 60 crores which will be only second to The Kashmir Files as far as this year's box office goes. The film will emerge as a blockbuster as the lifetime total is set to be more than 200cr minimum. It can also reach to 225cr mark as well but that depends on how the film fares when a mega competitor like Avatar2 arrives. ## Bhediya on the other hand continues with its downward trajectory as the early estimate collections suggest approx. 3.20 crores net on its first Wednesday. The film is showing approx 10% daily drop despite collecting very low figures at the box office. The first Wednesday collections will take the entire collection of Bhediya to a little over the 39cr net box office mark.## The final lifetime total is set to be around the 60cr net box office mark unless the film shows massive drops over the next couple of days. The film has underperformed at the box office as the trailer gave a nice feel about the film being a box office winner. The music was the main reason why the film failed to take a good initial and then the content did the rest. There will be very few collections from here on. The film will reach the 50cr mark easily but there's a doubt if it can reach to 60cr figure though that depends on the second-weekend collections.## Varun Dhawan had an average performer this year in the form of JugJugg Jeeyo and Bhediya despite being a more universal film that won't reach to JugJugg Jeeyo numbers. On its second Monday, the movie scored an estimated 6 crores net. This is an excellent second Monday collection for a film that already had collected around 144cr net box office mark.## The second Monday collections will take the entire box office collections of Drishyam2 to approx 150cr net box office mark depending on the actual second Monday collections though even if it misses it will be a few lakhs only. The road for 200cr net grosser is set from here on even if the film sees a 10% drop every day. ## There is not much competition until Avatar which arrives in the middle of December through Drishyam2 will collect even after the arrival of Avatar. The film has also cruised past the 200cr worldwide gross and the final target should be going above the 300cr mark. Mumbai, November 28 - Bhediya underperformed in the first weekend and has a decent hold on the first crucial Monday of its box office run as the early estimate collections suggest 4 crores net. The hold could have been good if the collections were in the range of 6 to 6.50cr net box office mark.## The first Monday collections will take the entire collections of Bhediya to a little over the 32.50cr net box office mark. The fact that the first Monday collections of Bhediya are lower than the second Monday collections of Drishyam 2 suggests the difference between their appreciation at the box office.## The collections of Bhediya at best can be called decent as the film was coming with high expectations and when you look at it from that point of view then the film has failed to live up to the mark. The film will enjoy a healthy little run at the box office due to no competition. The minimum target should be reaching a 60cr lifetime total and even if the film manages to reach that number it will be a below-average performer at the box office though in today's time anything better than a flop is better. Varun Dhawan's filmography has been filled with many successful films without any outright big flops except Kalank. But big stars are judged on big hits whereas Varun Dhawan lacks big time.
