Dhanush's Box Office Blockbuster 'Raayan' Sets Digital Release Date

Chennai, August 17 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is all set to premiere digitally after the record-breaking box office performance. The movie is written, directed, and stars Dhanush in the leading role alongside Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.## Released on July 26, the A-rated blockbuster is the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 so far with a worldwide box office collection of around 152 crores gross. The movie has been in theatres for more than three weeks and is now set for its digital release.## Produced by Sun Pictures, Raayan will premiere via Amazon Prime Video on August 23 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, languages. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. As per reports, TFPC has decided to hold the shootings of the new Tamil movies after August 15. ## It is learned that many producers have complained about actors' negligence towards completing the films despite taking advance payment. Box Office: Dhanush's 'Raayan' Scored Excellent First Weekend Worldwide

Chennai, July 29 - Tamil star Dhanush scored a much deserving success with his latest action thriller Raayan after the excellent 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The A-rated blockbuster scored close to 70 crores gross collection, already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year.## Directed and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan witnessed a continued jump over the weekend at the domestic box office, which is not a regular case for South Indian films. With approximately 49 crores gross collection, the movie scored the second biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024, behind only Indian 2. ## In Tamil Nadu, Raayan minted approximately 34 crores gross, followed by approximately 5.50+ crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telengana). The rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 10 crores gross collection. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has had a superb weekend with approximately 22 crores gross. This led to approximately 71+ crores worldwide cume, making it the 6th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024. Box Office: 'Raayan' Scores Biggest Opening For Dhanush

Chennai, July 27 - Tamil action thriller Raayan has had an excellent start at the domestic box office with approximately 15.75 crores gross collection. It is now the biggest opening for actor Dhanush, beating his previous high of approximately 12 crore gross with Karnan in 2021. ## At the overseas box office, the A-rated title scored approximately 7.25 crores gross, for approximately 23 crores worldwide on opening day, again the biggest for the actor beating Captain Miller which scored approximately 14 crores gross.## The domestic box office of 15.75 crores of Raayan includes approximately 10.60 crores in Tamil Nadu which is again the biggest for the actor in the state. The Telugu version of the movie also fared decently with approximately 2 crores gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, followed by 1.80 crores in Karnataka, 90 lakh in Kerala and 40 lakh in the rest of India market.## It is the second biggest opening for a Tamil movie of 2024, behind only Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which scored 30.25 crores gross in India and 56.25 crores worldwide on the opening day. Prashanth has asked over three years of Ajith's time. Their first collaboration, which could be AK 64, will be a standalone project. Box Office: 'Indian 2' Becomes Highest-Grossing Tamil Movie of 2024, Beating 'Maharaja' In 3 Days

Chennai, July 15 - Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2 topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend and has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, beating Vijay Sethupathi's actioner Maharaja in just three 3 days.## Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 witnessed a continuous drop over the weekend due to mixed to negative word of mouth, but did enough to cross 100 crores worldwide. In India, the movie grossed an estimated 69+ crores gross and overseas, it minted an estimated 40 crores, for 109+ crores worldwide cume, beating Maharaja (105 crores gross approx.). ## Despite the 100+ crores opening weekend, Indian 2 somehow performed underwhelmingly as it was projected to score 100 crore weekend at the domestic box office alone. The movie's 69 crores domestic collection includes an estimated 35.50+ crores in Tamil Nadu and 17 crores in Telugu states.## Language-wise, the original Tamil version grossed an estimated 48.50+ crores, followed by 16+ crores in Telugu, and 4.50+ crores collection in Hindi. Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, July 11 - Legendary Kamal Haasan and director Shankar reunited for the sequel to their vigilante action film Indian (1996). Indian 2 has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year which can be seen in the pre-sales. ## The advance sales of Indian 2 started a couple of days ago and as of 9 PM on July 11, it scored approximately 15 crores gross pre-sales (with block seats) for the opening day in India. The original Tamil version is leading the sales with over 10 crores gross, followed by the Telugu version.## Indian 2 has already become the biggest Tamil opener of 2024 with advance sales only, and considering the trend, it is heading for 35+ crores gross start in India which could go towards 40 crores depending on word of mouth for all versions. ## The Hindi version (Hindustani 2) of the movie, however, is expected to take a low start. The Hindi version pre-sales are currently approx. 30 lakh which indicates an opening in the range of 2 crore net (2.50 crores gross). It could go a little higher if WOM is positive but the competition with Akshay Kumar's Sarfira and holdover Kalki 2898 AD could dent its growth during the day. It will be released on nearly 2000 screens in Hindi. ## Indian 2 is expected to take the worldwide opening of 55+ crores gross which will be a fantastic start for the movie. Los Angeles, July 11 - Kamal Haasan's vigilante action film Indian 2 is set for a good start at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. The pre-sales of the movie have been picking up with just a day to go before the release which is July 12. ## Apart from the domestic pre-sales, Shankar's directorial movie has managed to generate good advance sales for the North American premiere.
