Box Office: 'Vettaiyan' Opening Day Early Estimates

Chennai, October 10 - After the massive success of Jailer last year, superstar Rajinikanth returned to the big screen with the action drama Vettaiyan which was released on October 10 amid much anticipation and is off to a very good start at the box office. ## Vettaiyan is different from a regular commercial entertainer and despite that, the movie has taken a solid start in the home state, Tamil Nadu. According to the early estimates, the film is headed for 20-22 crores gross opening day in the state which can go higher depending on how strong walk-ins are. ## Apart from TN, Vettaiyan is expected to gross 6-6.50 crores in Karnataka and 3.50+ crores in Telugu states. In Kerala, the movie has taken a solid start with an estimated 3.50+ crores while the rest of India gross is expected to be in the range of 1 crore. ## Overall, the film is estimated to score 35-37 crore gross collection at the domestic box office on its opening day which may vary a little bit depending on spot bookings. Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' Worldwide Pre-Release Theatrical Business Details

Chennai, October 9 - Superstar Rajinikanth made a grand comeback last year with the mega-blockbuster success of Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The movie made over 600 crores gross worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Indian titles of the year. ## Rajinikanth has now teamed up with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel for an action drama Vettaiyan which is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 10, during Dussehra weekend. The movie carries a decent buzz among the fans and pre-sales are good for the opening day in Tamil Nadu and overseas. ## Meanwhile, Vettaiyan has managed to generate good pre-release theatrical business. In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the movie's theatrical business is valued at 73 crore, according to T2BLive. Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' Overseas Pre-Sales Crosses $1 Million

Chennai, October 5 - Superstar Rajinikanth returns to the big screen after the blockbuster success of Jailer last year with the upcoming action drama Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie is scheduled to release on October 10, coinciding with Vijayadasami.## Vettaiyan has been carrying decent buzz among the fans and is expected to take a very good start at the box office. Thalapathy Vijay's 'The Greatest of All Time' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection

Chennai, September 5 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time was released on this day last year, in 2024. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT finished its box office run as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. The GOAT was released on September 5, on Thursday and scored the second biggest opening ever for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection. It is also the third-biggest opening for an Indian title of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD and Devara. The movie received a mixed reception from critics and audiences, and despite that, Thalapathy Vijay pulled off a fantastic first weekend with approximately 281 crores gross worldwide. It was, however, a different story when it came to the different parts of the country as far as the box office was concerned. The GOAT, after the not-so-encouraging reception, didn't get the desired result in Telugu states and Kerala, where Vijay's popularity was soaring. Chennai, September 14 - Thalapathy Vijay, arguably the biggest Tamil star, has officially announced his 69th film which is said to be his final movie before his political entry under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.## Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film will be directed by H. Vinoth, marking his maiden collaboration with the superstar. The leading Kannada production house, KVN Productions will produce T69 and it will be the studio's maiden Tamil production. ## Sensational Anirudh Ravichander is on board to compose the music of T69 which has been confirmed to hit the big screens in October 2025. While the other details were not revealed, the movie is expected to start shooting in October this year. ## The makers announced the film on Saturday, September 14 with the first look concept poster with the tagline, "The torch bearer of Democracy", indicating a political drama. Box Office: 'The Greatest of All Time' Scored Excellent First Week Worldwide

Chennai, September 13 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had an excellent extended first week at the worldwide box office with approximately 340 crores gross collection. This includes 209 crores in India and 131 crores overseas. ## The GOAT performed opposite in the home state, Tamil Nadu and other domestic areas. In TN, the movie minted approximately 143.50 crores gross while the rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 65.70 crores, including 24.75 crores in Karnataka where the movie performed second best after TN. ## At the overseas box office, the Venkat Prabhu's directorial blockbuster was excellent throughout the first week and earned approximately 131 crores, for a worldwide cume of 340 crores gross in 8 days. The GOAT will outgross the final collection of Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 (344 crores gross) at the end of its 9th day to become the 6th biggest Tamil grosser of all time. ## As reported earlier, The GOAT is the second movie of Thalapathy Vijay to cross 300 crores worldwide gross and is currently the second biggest grosser of the actor after Leo (606 crores) which is the second highest-grossing Tamil title, behind only 2.0 (744 crores gross). ## The GOAT is expected to finish as the 5th biggest Tamil grosser by crossing Kamal Haasan's Vikram (414 crores gross). Chennai, September 10 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has crossed 300 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the second movie of the actor to achieve the feat after last year's Leo. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT topped 300 crores worldwide gross after scoring approximately 22 crores gross on its 5th day for around 303 crores. With this, it has outgrossed the lifetime total of Bigil (295 crores) and Varisu (297.50 crores) to become Thalapathy Vijay's second-biggest grosser. ## The GOAT is performing very well at the home state, Tamil Nadu where it has so far grossed approximately 120 crores in 5 days. The rest of the domestic market has been underwhelming with 58 crores gross, for 178 crores total India gross. ## Overseas, The GOAT is exceptional with approximately 125 crores gross collection which is the second highest for Vijay after Leo's 204 crores gross collection. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time sees a drop of around 60% on its first Monday, which is a working day from Sunday, which was expected due to mixed word of mouth and huge first-weekend collection. ## The drop could have been even bigger if not for the home state, Tamil Nadu where the movie remained solid by holding close to 50% collection on Sunday. According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score in the range of 13-14 crores gross collection on its 5th day/first Monday in Tamil Nadu. ## The total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is around 120 crores in 5 days. Chennai, September 9 - One of the biggest Tamil films of the year, Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a fantastic first-weekend collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu and overseas box office, however, the movie is not performing in other parts of the country. ## Other than Tamil Nadu, The GOAT has heavily underperformed in other states of India, especially in Telugu and Hindi states where it has grossed just around 23 crores of gross collection. The performance of the movie in Telugu states is shockingly poor as Thalapathy Vijay's previous few films did well there. ## While the audience outside Tamil Nadu is not loving the movie, director Venkat Prabhu has made a weird excuse for the film's failure in Telugu and Hindi. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has become the 8th movie of the actor to cross 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu after the excellent 4-day first weekend. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 106 crores gross in the state. Chennai, September 8 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time scored an excellent first weekend at the box office with 160+ crores gross in India. This is by far the biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024 and one of the biggest of all time. ## The Venkat Prabhu's directorial is showing a fantastic hold everywhere, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu, and the overseas territories.
