Jolly LLB 3 Box Office Preview/Day 1 Expectations: Double-Digit Opening On The Cards

Mumbai, September 18 - Superstar Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi's much-awaited courtroom comedy-drama Jolly LLB 3 is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow, amid decent expectations. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film brings both the Jollys together for the first time, which has increased the stakes and expectations. The film's advance booking has progressed slowly but with a steady pace, as it has so far collected around 2.15 crores gross (without block seats) for the opening day. With the last few hours left for the release, the momentum in the sales is picking up, and it is expected to surpass or come near the advance of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par (3.31 crores for Day 1). To put things into perspective, Sitaare Zameen Par had collected 10.70 crores net on its opening day with 3.31 crores gross in advance sales on around 3300 screens. Jolly LLB 3 is reportedly releasing in around 3500 screens, and with minimal competition from Bollywood films, it is expected to fare better than SZP. As said, the pre-sales of Jolly LLB 3 are likely to be around the Aamir Khan-starrer, which puts it on course to take the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net. The franchise value is expected to boost the spot booking, and if the reports are positive, it might even challenge Jolly LLB 2's opening of 13.20 crores net, but it is something which depends on how things go on the release day. Early trends suggest that Jolly LLB 3 is poised to score Akshay Kumar one of his better openings in recent times. A double-digit debut looks assured, with the possibility of scaling higher depending on spot bookings and word of mouth. If the content delivers, the weekend collections could see a healthy surge, setting the stage for another successful outing for the popular legal comedy franchise. Stay tuned...

Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam's Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga Sequel In Works For Theatrical Release; Details Revealed

Mumbai, September 18 - In 2023, Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal teamed up for Maddock Films' heist thriller Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. The movie was directly premiered on Netflix, and went on to become one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer. Directed by Ajay Singh, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga received praise for being a one-of-a-kind heist thriller, and struck a chord with the audiences. Now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, the sequel to CNKB is in development at Maddock with Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam returning to lead once again. The report says that the script for Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2 is already locked, and the makers are expected to take it on floors by the end of this year. The bigger picture is that the makers are aiming to make it s theatrical film, unlike the first movie, which was made as a streaming product. "While Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga revolved around a heist in the air, the sequel has even higher stakes as the robbery takes place in the middle of an ocean. The entire plot of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2 is set on a cruise, where all the madness unfolds. Much like the original, this one too will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller with comic elements", says the report. The movie will be produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films in association with Amar Kaushik. Stay tuned...

PVR-INOX Halts Advance Booking For Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi's Jolly LLB 3

Mumbai, September 18 - Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi's much-awaited Jolly LLB 3 seems to be in trouble ahead of its September 19 release. In a shocking development, the largest multiplex chain in India, PVR-INOX, has halted advance bookings for this courtroom comedy drama. The theatre chain had opened the bookings for the weekend, but gradually started stopping them since Wednesday evening (September 17). It is said that the issue is regarding V.P.F. (Virtual Print Fees), which is being resolved now, and the bookings will be live anytime soon. "A meeting will be held between the two parties on Thursday at 10:00 am. We are all hoping that all the issues between them are resolved amicably. Once that happens, bookings in PVR Inox are expected to commence immediately", reports Bollywood Hungama. The pre-sales of Jolly LLB 3 are increasing gradually. As of 10 AM on September 17, the film has sold over 66,000 tickets worth approximately 1.75 crores gross for the opening day. After Box Office History, Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda's Saiyaara Storms To Number 1 On Netflix

Mumbai, September 17 - After scripting history at the box office, debutante Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda's romantic drama Saiyaara continues to wave its magic as it has taken Netflix by storm by emerging as the number 1 non-English movie worldwide this past week. Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara started streaming on Netflix from 12 September after completing the mandatory 8-week theatrical run. Despite the majority of its target audience having already watched it in theatres, the film has soared to number 1 on the streamer with 3.7 million (37 lakh) views in the first 3 days. With 3.7 million views or 9.3 million viewing hours, Saiyaara is among the most-watched Indian films in the first weekend on Netflix this year. It is also trending at the number 1 in 9 countries this week, including India, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Mauritius, while trending in the top 10 in 15 countries. It has been observed in the past that those films have fared better on Netflix, which did better at the box office, than those which began streaming directly, and Saiyaara, with a solid start, has proved that again. This is probably one of the main reasons why streamers have started refusing to take most of the films directly and wait for the box office validation to acquire them. Saiyaara, meanwhile, has been a box office breakout of the year. Made on a medium-range budget of around 50 crores, this Yash Raj Films production stunned the trade with its phenomenal box office run. The movie finished its theatrical journey with over 570 crores worldwide as the highest-grossing romantic Indian film of all-time and one of the highest-grosser of the year. Stay tuned...

Jolly LLB Franchise Box Office Journey: Can Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi-led Jolly LLB 3 Outperform Its Predecessor?

Mumbai, September 17 - Over the year, Bollywood has produced multiple successful film franchises, including courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the Jolly LLB series has grown from a modest courtroom satire into one of the most reliable franchises. Well, the fan favourite franchise has returned with the third instalment with stacks higher than before. Both the Jollys, Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, who headlined the first two films separately, have come together for Jolly LLB 3, which is scheduled to release on September 19. With less than 2 days to go before the release, the trade is anticipating it to repeat the success of the first two movies and is hopeful that it will take things a notch higher. Jolly LLB (2013) - Released in 2013, Jolly LLB featured Arshad Warsi in the lead alongside Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Boman Irani. Made on a modest budget of around 15 crores, the film emerged as a surprise success thanks to its sharp satire on corruption in the legal system. At the box office, it grossed around 46 crore worldwide, including β‚Ή43.75 crore from India, and drew close to 35 lakh footfalls. The film received praise for the direction and story, along with appreciation for the lead cast. Its impact was further amplified when it went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, establishing a solid foundation for a franchise. Saurabh Shukla, who has been a major reason behind the franchise's success, won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor. Jolly LLB 2 (2017) – Star Power Takes The Franchise To New Highs - The sequel arrived in 2017 with Akshay Kumar stepping into the role of the quirky lawyer, replacing Arshad. The results were phenomenal as Jolly LLB 2 collected superb around 197 crore worldwide gross, out of which 162.50 crore came from India, while footfalls rose more than 3x to nearly 1.20 crore. This massive jump in both revenue and audience turnout showed the difference that star power could make, transforming the series from a small hit into a full-fledged blockbuster franchise. It also won multiple awards at different awards shows. Can Both Jollys Take Jolly LLB 3 Past Its Predecessor - As said, the stakes are higher than before, and with both Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar coming together for the first time in the series, expectations are running high for Jolly LLB 3. The first two films combined have already amassed around 250 crore worldwide with over 1.50 crore footfalls, proving the franchise's strong box office pull. If the third instalment successfully blends its signature mix of satire, courtroom drama, and entertainment, it has every chance to surpass the benchmark set by Jolly LLB 2 and solidify Jolly LLB as one of Bollywood's most enduring courtroom sagas. The franchise films have seen a higher ratio of failure than success this year, but the trade is optimistic about Jolly LLB 3. Stay tuned...

The news about the duo coming together after many decades has been making noise for the last few weeks, especially since they have officially confirmed the mega collab. While the legendary duo have officially confirmed that they are coming together, the uncertainty over the director is still looming large. Interestingly, it was reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has directed both the superstars in Coolie and Vikram, had narrated a two-hero script to them and was supposed to direct the film. But it seems the project is not happening with Lokesh anymore. According to the social media buzz, Lokesh Kanagaraj has backed out of the film, which will now reportedly be directed by some other director. The official confirmation about the same is not revealed yet, and if true, there is no clarity on why the Leo director is not directing it. There have been rumours that Pradeep Ranganathan might direct the film. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth told the media at Chennai airport that the movie will be produced by Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International and Red Giant Movies, but the director and script have not been finalised, which has hinted but confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj is not in the fray. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan last appeared together in the 1979 fantasy film Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum, following earlier collaborations in Ninaithale Inikkum (1979), Aval Appadithan (1978), and 16 Vayathinile (1977). Aamir Khan's Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic With Rajkumar Hirani In Jeopardy

Mumbai, September 17 - Earlier this year, superstar Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani announced their reunion for the biopic of legendary Dadasaheb Phalke. The news created a stir among the fans as the blockbuster duo, who delivered two iconic films in 3 Idiots and PK, came together after more than a decade for their third collaboration. The movie was expected to be a landmark film for both Aamir and Hirani, but cut to a few months later, the much-awaited collab has hit a roadblock. According to the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, the Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic has been put on hold, and the reason is the script. It is said that Aamir Khan heard the script from Hirani and felt that it didn't have enough elements to make for a theatrical watch. The perfectionist wanted Hirani to have a typical approach of mixing laughter with emotion and drama. But the script was devoid of comedy, which raised a doubt in the mind of Aamir, and he requested Raju to rewrite the script and come back. The report further stated that Rajkumar Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi were shocked by Aamir's reaction and are now figuring out what to do next. The movie, which was supposed to go on floors by October this year, has now been delayed indefinitly, as per Bollywood Hungama. The Dangal star is now reportedly hearing other scripts for his next. Top Bollywood Films Post-Pandemic Footfalls Ranking: Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan Leads As Six Movies Top 3 Crore Admits

Mumbai, September 14 – The post-pandemic era has been a rollercoaster for Bollywood, with the industry witnessing both unprecedented highs and major setbacks. The box office dynamics in this age and era have changed drastically, where the brand value doesn't guarantee success. However, in the post-pandemic world, Bollywood has reached new highs, not just once, but on many occasions, with record collections, and those films have managed to pull massive footfalls, reaffirming the enduring charm of the big screen. According to the estimates, six Bollywood blockbusters have managed to breach the coveted 3 crore footfalls mark since cinemas reopened in late 2021, proving that audiences are still willing to flock to theatres when offered the right blend of entertainment, star power, and emotion. Topping the list is Shah Rukh Khan's action phenomenon Jawan, which stands tall with 3.80 crore admissions, making it the most-watched Bollywood film of the post-pandemic period. The film's pan-India appeal, coupled with Atlee's mass entertainer packaging, made it a cultural event across the country. Not far behind is SRK's comeback film Pathaan, which kick-started the revival wave for Hindi cinema in early 2023. Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, fueled by nostalgia and patriotic fervour, follows closely with over 3.40 crore admissions, proving that emotional connect remains as powerful as ever. Ranbir Kapoor's intense action drama Animal registered over 3 crore admissions, marking it as a remarkable run for an A-rated film in India. Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree 2 and Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava were among the biggest surprises in recent times as they managed to top 3 crore admissions each in India. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule remains the biggest blockbuster in Hindi with an estimated 3.90 crores tickets sold. Top Bollywood Films' Theatrical Performance In Post-Covid Era (Est.) Mumbai, September 14 – Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's much-awaited romantic comedy drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has undergone a major release date shift after backing out of Valentine's Day debut. The film, which was earlier locked for February 13, 2026, will now arrive much earlier, hitting the big screens on January 31, 2025, coinciding with the New Year's weekend. The decision to prepone the release has surprised many, but the industry insider believes that it is to avoid the Valentine's Day rush as well as the film's early availability. By arriving in January instead of February, the film has secured a relatively open window. The New Year period is also considered a lucrative time for releases, with audiences in a festive mood and ready to embrace big-screen spectacles. Produced on a grand scale by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, Tu Meri Main Tera marks another collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday after their earlier pairing in Pati Patni Aur Woh. Rajinikanth's Coolie Shatters Aamir Khan's Superhero Dream With Lokesh Kanagaraj?

Mumbai, September 13 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's courtesy cameo in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's recently released Coolie seems to have backfired. The actor played a cameo role as Dahaa, a gangster, in the film, which didn't go as planned for him. While Aamir Khan called his cameo a big moment as he got to share screen space with Rajinikanth, the audience didn't resonate with this character, and called it one of the weakest parts of the film. Apart from the cameo, the Dangal star also confirmed a full-fledged superhero film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, which was supposed to start rolling next year. There have been reports that Aamir Khan's superhero film with Lokesh has been shelved after the criticism for his cameo in Coolie. Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the duo has indeed parted ways, but the reason is not Coolie, but rather the script. "Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj have parted ways on their next film. The real reason the project was shelved is the script. While Aamir prefers to have the entire screenplay locked much in advance, Lokesh believes in the idea of having a draft in place and writing through the process of shooting," says the report. It is said that Aamir Khan wanted Lokesh to fully focus on the script as he believed that it had the scope to redefine Indian Cinema. However, the director insisted on following his own process of work, which didn't go well with the actor on the creative front, and decided to part ways on a good note with the intent of collaborating in the future. YRF Spy Universe Footfalls Ranking: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan Leads, Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR's War 2 Trails Behind

Mumbai, September 12 - Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe has been one of the biggest crowd-pullers over the year. From Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, which shattered records back in 2012, to Shah Rukh Khan's record-breaking Pathaan, Spy Universe has proved its stamina in attracting audiences to theatres. However, just like a coin has two sides, Spy Universe too is showing the sign of fatigue after peaking with Pathaan in 2023. It has been over a decade since the franchise kicked off, but over the past few years, the cinema has evolved, which has started reflecting in the Spy Universe with the underperformance of Tiger 3 and War 2. The biggest downfall for the YRF Spy Universe came with the recently released War 2. The Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR-fronted failed to score even half the admissions of Ek Tha Tiger at the domestic box office, despite a much bigger scale and a bigger market. It is not only the most-watched film with approximately 3.50 crores admissions, but also the first and the only film in the Spy Universe to gross over 1000 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR's War 2 Final Worldwide Box Office Collection, Verdict, and Records

Mumbai, September 12 – Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy action thriller War 2 has ended up as one of the major box office disappointments of recent times. It was one of the most-awaited films of the year, carrying the legacy of 2019's blockbuster War. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie promised high-octane action, cutting-edge visuals, and the first-ever collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar Jr. NTR. However, despite the hype and sky-high expectations, War 2 massively underperformed, not just at the domestic but also the overseas box office, wrapping up its run on a disappointing note as the second-lowest-grossing film in the YRF Spy Universe. It is the costliest film in the famous Spy Universe, with over 400 crores. War 2 started struggling with the advance sales itself as it failed to build the moment despite the star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, along with the brand value of the franchise. The pre-sales trend was clearly reflected in the opening, which was also affected by the negative reviews. Here Is The Final Worldwide Box Office Breakdown of War 2 (expected) India Net Box Office Collectionβ‚Ή 237.00 CrHindi Net Box Office Collectionβ‚Ή 178.00 Cr India Gross Box Office Collectionβ‚Ή 283.00 Cr Overseas Box Office Collectionβ‚Ή 82.00 Cr Worldwide Box Office Collectionβ‚Ή 365.00 Cr India Footfalls/Admits1.20 Cr approx. Box Office VerdictFlop The Hindi version, which was expected to lead the charge, finished below 200 crores net as the lowest in the Spy Universe and far below the benchmarks set by other spy universe outings like Pathaan and War. However, the big letdown was the Telugu version, which couldn't even cross 100 crores domestically despite the presence of one of the biggest stars of South Indian cinema. As a result of poor collections, War 2 finished below 300 crores gross domestically. In the overseas market, the collections were also not up to the level the franchise has set over the year, reaching 82 crores gross, a low figure for a film of this scale. It has also been the least-watched movie in the Spy Universe. Despite its lavish scale, budget, star power, and action-packed marketing campaign, War 2 failed to resonate with audiences beyond the initial buzz. Weak storytelling, mixed word-of-mouth, and high expectations worked against it. For YRF’s spy universe, which has otherwise delivered record-smashing successes, War 2 serves as a reminder that brand value alone cannot guarantee box office glory. Stay tuned...

Krrish 4 Update: Hrithik Roshan To Begin Directorial Journey With Superhero Saga In Summer of 2026; Release Plans Locked

Mumbai, September 8 - After facing a major setback with War 2, Hrithik Roshan is looking to bounce back, and there is no bigger project than Krrish 4 to do that. The ambitious superhero film has been in the making for a long time, but shooting keeps getting delayed for various reasons. As reported previously, things are finally heading in the right direction. Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who will be producing this mega-budgeted film with Yash Raj Films, has given clarity on one of Bollywood's most-awaited projects, which will also mark Hrithik's directorial debut. During a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker confirmed that the pre-production is going on in full swing, as the Hrithik Roshan-starrer will go on floors in the summer of 2026. The announcement has put an end to years of speculation surrounding the fourth instalment of the beloved superhero franchise, which last saw its release back in 2013 with Krrish 3. The current plans to start shooting Krrish 4 are slightly different from the earlier plans of starting it in early 2026, and Rakesh Roshan said that the reason for this delay is the extensive pre-production time, which is required to mount the film on the desired scale. Rakesh Roshan further revealed that the team is aiming for a 2027 theatrical release. Given the scale of the project, the makers want to ensure ample time for filming and post-production, especially since the Krrish series is known for its ambitious visual effects and larger-than-life action set pieces. Fans can expect a film that not only continues the story of India’s first mainstream superhero but also elevates the cinematic experience to a global standard. Adding to the excitement, Krrish 4 is expected to bring the original cast back. Priyanka Chopra has reportedly been locked to continue reprising her role. Also, with YRF coming on board, the film has a powerful backing, which is expected to provide it with both the technical excellence and the grand scale needed to compete with international superhero films.
