Suriya's 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' To Release In Five Languages On February 4, 2022

Chennai, December 13 - Tamil superstar Suriya is going Pan-India with his next film "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" with director Pandiraj. On the occasion of his birthday, the Rajini Makkal Mandram on Sunday said the Rajinikanth Foundation would provide training to 100 students from poor and marginalized sections for the civil services in Tamil Nadu. ## Rajini Makkal Mandram convenor V.M. Chennai, December 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Master" has topped the list of most tweeted films of 2021 in India. The first Indian blockbuster of the pandemic era has taken the first spot over films like "Valimai" (Pongal 2022 release), Vijay's own "Beast" (summer 2022 release), "Jai Bhim", and "Vakeel Saab". ## Vijay's tweet unveiling the first look poster of "Beast" is also the most retweeted tweet in Indian entertainment in 2021. Suriya's Critically Acclaimed 'Jai Bhim' Is Google's Most Searched Indian Film Of 2021

Chennai, December 8 - Tamil superstar Suriya has won critical acclaim for his last two films, "Soorarai Pottru" and "Jai Bhim". Interestingly, both films were released on Amazon Prime Video and were among the most-watched films in Prime Video's history. ## Now, Google India has declared the list of its 'Year in Search' findings as it explained the top search trends of 2021 in the country. "Jai Bhim" which focuses on the real-life struggles of marginalized groups was the most googled film of the year in India. Despite winning accolades for making such a hard-hitting film, the social drama film is being subjected to show the Vanniyar community in a bad light. ## While the makers of the film, including actor Suriya, are facing criticism, director Tha Se Gnanavel, feels responsible for all the trouble Suriya facing for doing this film. On Sunday, Gnanavel posted a statement on Twitter and said that he regretted the trouble Suriya was facing on his account.## "The welcome that 'Jai Bhim' got from all segments has brought us happiness. In the same way, I did not actually expect some opinions that have gone against the film", he said in a statement, claiming that he did not know that a calendar that was in the background would be construed as an identity of a community. ## He explained that the intention behind placing the calendar there was only to manifest the idea that the year was 1995. "None of us had any intention of showing the calendar as an identity of any community. When I got to know about the calendar from social media on the night of November 1, after the film had released on Prime Video, all efforts were made to immediately get the calendar changed on the morning of November 2 itself", he added. ## Stating that it was unfortunate that actor Suriya was being asked to take responsibility for something that he, as director, was solely responsible for, Gnanavel said he wished to express his regret for the difficulty it had caused to Suriya. Suriya To Enact Duel Roles In His Next With Director Siva?

Chennai, November 9 - Tamil superstar Suriya will be teaming up with "Annaatthe" director Siva for the first time. Though the film has not been announced officially yet, Siva recently confirmed in an interview that he will be directing Suriya in his next, which will go on floors next year. ## The latest report around this much-awaited collaboration suggests that Suriya will be enacting a duel role in the film that is said to be a commercial family drama that will also play to Suriya’s big image in that category. Playing duel roles is not new for Suriya as he has previously essayed double roles in the films like Massu Engira Masilamani (2015), and Maattrraan (2012). ## While Suriya's film with Siva will take some time to start rolling, the actor will complete his ongoing projects first. He is currently working on the final shoot schedules of "Etharkkum Thunindhavan". He will then head to director Vetrimaaran's highly-awaited film "Vaadivaasal". ## Suriya also has a film with director Bala. The untitled film will be their fourth venture together and it will be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. The actor-director duo first joined hands for Nandha, which was released in 2001. Later, they reunited for "Pithamagan" (2003). Their last film together was "Avan Ivan" (2011), in which the "Soorarai Pottru" actor played a cameo role. ## Meanwhile, Suriya is winning accolades for his recently released "Jai Bhim", which is a legal drama film directed by T. Rajinikanth's 'Annaatthe' Bags Second Biggest Opening Weekend After Thalapathy's 'Master' Of Pandemic Era

Chennai, November 8 - Superstar Rajinikanth strikes gold with his latest Tamil action drama film, "Annaatthe". The veteran actor, at the age of 70, proved his commercial worth and scored the century as the box office. Directed by Siva, "Annaatthe", which was released on November 4, scored ₹ 123.4 crores in the 4-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office, including ₹ 96.4 cr. in India alone. ## "Annaatthe" currently is the second biggest opening weekend grosser Indian film during the covid-19 pandemic. Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Master", which was released on 13 January this year, recorded ₹ 143.90 in the 5-day opening weekend. Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi" is going neck to neck with "Annaatthe" and collects ₹ 116 crores in the 3-day weekend, beginning on Friday (Nov. 5). ## The Sun Pictures' production, "Annaatthe" has earned ₹ 79.20 crores gross in Tamil Nadu alone, followed by ₹ 8 crores in Karanataka, ₹ 5.60 crores in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, ₹ 2 in Kerala, and ₹ 1.60 crores for the rest of India. Overseas, it has grossed ₹ 27 crores so far from the release of over 1100 screens in 66 countries. ## "Annaatthe" took the 3rd best opening of the pandemic era at the Indian box office. Pawan Kalyan's Telugu hit, "Vakeel Saab" earned ₹ 40.10 crores net and is at the top spot, followed by Vijay's "Master", which earned ₹ 34.80 crores on the first day on the occasion of the Pongal festival. "Sooryavanshi" is the 4th biggest opener with ₹ 26.29 crores. ## "Annaatthe" revolves around the relationship of Kaalaiyan (played by Rajinikanth), a village president who only bows to goodness and moral fairness, and his sibling Thanga Meenaatchi (played by Keerthy Suresh). Box Office: Sivakarthikeyan's Blockbuster 'Doctor' Grossed Rs. 100 Crores Worldwide

Chennai, November 3 - It has been a remarkable few weeks for Tamil cinema, which was on the ventilenter a month ago. And this is all because of Sivakarthikeyan's action-comedy, "Doctor", which is ruling the box office since its debut on October 9. Thalapathy 66: Director Vamshi Paidipally Gives Major Update On The Cast And Story Of Vijay-Starrer

Chennai, November 2 - Maharshi director, Vamshi Paidipally will be directing Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay for the first time in his next film. Tentatively titled "Thalapathy 66", the film will be produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. ## Since the film announcement on September 26, there hasn't been much development on the rest of the cast and other details. However, in a recent media interaction, director Vamshi gave major updates about the cast and story of the film. He revealed that the upcoming film will be high on emotions with a touch of Thalapathy's stardom. ## "My core strength is human relationships and emotions so, the film with Vijay sir will also have these two factors.
