Chennai, December 12 - Tamil superstar, Thalapathy Vijay completely ruled Twitter trends in 2021, and that too without putting much effort. Vijay, who was last seen in box office blockbuster, "Master" earlier this year, was the most-tweeted-about actor in South Indian Entertainment.

One of the most popular actors among the Tamil audiences, Thalapathy Vijay beat the likes of Pawan Kalyan, and Mahesh Babu, who were the second and third most tweeted South Indian actors. Interestingly, Vijay's "Master" remained the most talked-about South Indian movie on Twitter in 2021. It beat Thala Ajith's "Valimai", which is scheduled to release on Pongal 2022.

Suriya, who grabbed accolades and headlines for his "Soorarai Pottru" and "Jai Bhim", was the 4th most tweeted South Indian actor, followed by Jr. NTR at 5, Allu Arjun at 6, Rajinikanth at 7, Ram Charan and Dhanush at number 8 and 9 while Thala Ajith was the 10th most talked-about actor on Twitter in 2021.

On the other hand, Keerthy Suresh, who headlined "Rang De", "Annaatthe", and "Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham" this year, was the most tweeted South Indian actress. She is currently shooting for "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", which releases next year in April. Pooja Hegde grabbed the second spot in Twitter trends. Despite featuring in just one film this year in form of "Most Eligible Bachelor", the actress remained the hot topic for her upcoming features "Radhe Shyam", and "Beast".

Samantha Ruth Prabhu (3) also was one of the trending topics on Twitter over her personal and professional front. Her divorce from Naga Chaitanya was one of the main headlines in South Indian cinema. Kajal Aggarwal and Malavika Mohanan along with Sai Pallavi, Anushka Shetty, Rakul Preet Singh were also among the most tweeted actress in South Indian entertainment.
