Karan Johar's Dharma Production In Association With Still and Still Media Collective Announces A Film On C Sankaran Nair Who Uncovered The Truth Of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

Mumbai, June 29, 2021: Filmmaker Karan Johar of Dharam Productions has joined hands with Still and Still Media Collective production house to announce the biopic on the former President of the Indian National Congress and member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, C Sankaran Nair. It will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. ## The film, titled "The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair", will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi in his directorial debut. The film unravels the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.## The film is inspired by real-life events and adapted from the book "The Case That Shook The Empire" written by Sankaran Nair's great-grandson, Raghu Palat, and his wife, Pushpa Palat. Mammootty's Malayalam Political Drama 'One' To Be Remade In Hindi Under Boney Kapoor Production

Mumbai, June 28, 2021: The South Indian films have had a huge impact on Hindi audiences, hence, the Hindi remakes of South Indian films have become increasingly common in the last few years. Boney Kapoor is the one who has been heavily banking on remakes, be it in Hindi or other languages and he is keeping with that trend. ## After recently producing the Telugu version in form of Vakeel Saab, of the Hindi film Pink, Boney Kapoor has now acquired the remake rights for all languages of the 2021 Malayalam hit film "One". Mumbai, June 27, 2021: The Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil blockbuster, Vikram Vedha, has been a talk of the town for a long time now. While the original film starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan in the lead role, the Hindi remake will be headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, stepping into the shoes of Sethupathi and Madhavan respectively. ## While the movie is yet to be officially announced, it was reportadly set to go on floors in July 2021. However, according to the latest development, the movie is set to be delayed once again. Due to the covid-19 situation in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the makers have said to be canceled the plan to roll out the film in July in Mumbai. ## According to the reports, the makers are now planning to roll out the film in August this year with the first scheduled to be shot abroad. Pushkar – Gayatri (a husband-wife duo), who helmed the original Vikram Vedha, will also be directing the Hindi remake. It will be produced by the original producer, Y NOT Studios, and co-produced by Plan C Studios. ## The original movie starred R. Madhavan as righteous police officer Vikram while Vijay Sethupathi played the gangster Vedha. Kiara Advani On Board For RC15 And Anniyan Hindi Remake?

The actress had recently announced that she is collaborating with writer-director Sai Kabir for a political drama that revolves around former India Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. ## However, for a change, she has now decided to direct the film herself along with starring in the film in the role of Indira Gandhi. Hyderabad Shooters Contemplating Legal Action Against Makers Of Amazon Prime Video Film 'Sherni' For Projecting Them 'Trigger-Happy Shooters'

Mumbai, June 24, 2021: Vidya Balan starrer thriller film, "Sherni", invites fresh controversy. The movie, which released on June 18 directly on Amazon Prime Video, deals with the subjects like human-wildlife conflict and wildlife conservation. It shows how human greed is destroying wildlife. ## While the movie deals with the sensitive subject of wildlife, the makers of the film have been alleged for "twisting of facts" relating to the killing of tigress Avni. A Hyderabad shooter Asghar Ali Khan, who shot dead tigress Avni in Maharashtra's Yavatmal in 2018, is contemplating legal action against the makers of the film. "We are consulting the legal advisers. We have not yet taken a final call," Asghar Ali Khan told IANS on Wednesday. #### He has accused the makers of the film of presenting a completely different story regarding the killing of tigress Avni. Asghar Ali Khan, who is the son of well-known shooter Nawab Sahafath Ali Khan, alleged that the movie projected them as "trigger-happy shooters". "We had gone there at the invitation of the government and killed the man-eater tigress which had mauled to death 14 persons but we were projected as if we were hunting for fun", he said. ## He argued that the way the makers presented them in the film, could damage their reputation and add "fuel to the fire" to the sensitive matter which is already subjudice. Abundantia Entertainment Pvt Ltd, one of the producers of the film, however, clarified that "Sherni" is a creative work of fiction and will not hamper "any supposed ongoing investigation" or damage Asghar Ali or his father's reputation. ## Asghar Ali, however, is not satisfied with this. "If there is one similarity between what was shown in the movie and what happened in Avni's case, it can be called coincidence but there are so many similarities. There was a lady officer in the real operation, there is a lady officer (Vidya Balan) in the movie. There are other similarities like two cubs of the tigress and the use of urine of another tiger to attract the tigress", he said.## Sherni is directed by Amit V. Masurkar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Amit V. Masurkar under the banners of T-Series, and Abundantia Entertainment.
