Varun Dhawan Wrapped Up Filming On Bhediya; All Set To Release In 2022

Mumbai, July 10, 2021: The young Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan has announced that he has wrapped the filming of his upcoming horror-comedy, Bhediya, produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios. Bhediya, directed by Amar Kaushik, is the third installment in Dinesh Vijan's Horror-Comedy Universe with Stree and Roohi being the first two. Kriti Sanon, who is playing the female lead in the film, has already completed her portion. Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee are also playing key roles in the film. Sanya Malhotra To Join Rajkummar Rao In The Hindi Remake Of Telugu Film - HIT: The First Case

Mumbai, July 9, 2021: As the Bollywood film industry going after remakes, one more film that joined the list is the 2020 Telugu movie, HIT: The First Case starring Vishwak Sen, and Ruhani Sharma. Last year in July, producer Dil Raju announced the Hindi remake of HIT with Rajkumar Rao playing the lead role. ## The makers have now brought very talented Sanya Malhotra on board to play the female lead in this mystery action-thriller film. Sailesh Kolanu, who directed the original film, will also be helming the Hindi version. The movie is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on floors soon. ## The Hindi remake of HIT will be produced by Dil Raju, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore under the banners of Dil Raju Productions and T-Series. It is the second time when Rajkumar Rao and Sanya Malhotra will share the screen space. Mumbai, July 7, 2021: Dilip Kumar, India's acting icon, has died on Wednesday (July 7) morning at a Mumbai hospital after a prolonged illness. Aged 98, Dilip Kumar was credited with bringing the method style into Hindi cinema and was widely known as the "Tragedy King". ## Dilip Kumar started his acting career with Jwar Bhata in 1944 and acted in 62 films in a career that spanned over five decades. Starring in some of the all-time classic films, Kumar is widely regarded as the finest actor India has ever produced. Junglee Pictures Acquired Life Rights Of Jeevajothi Santhakumar Who Fought Legal Battle Against Dosa King, P Rajagopal

Mumbai, July 7, 2021: Vineet Jain of Junglee Pictures has acquired the life rights of Jeevajothi Santhakumar, who fought a lengthy legal battle against the dosa king, P. Rajagopal who was accused of the murder of Jeevajothi's husband Prince Santhakumar, and eventually being convicted of the crime by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.## Junglee Pictures has collaborated with the renowned screenwriter Bhavani Iyer to pen this story which traces the making of the rags-to-riches businessman, a connoisseur of food, who founded the biggest south Indian food chain that has over 100 outlets across 28 countries. It will also delve into how Rajagopal obsessively tried to take Jeevajothi, the daughter of one of his employees, as his third wife on the advice of an astrologer. ## Jeevajothi was already married to Prince Santhakumar and rejected P Rajagopal who was double her age at that time. The rejection didn't go well with the restaurant mogul, and after one attempted murder, he successfully orchestrated the murder of her husband Santhakumar. He was convicted for a 2001 murder, and began serving a life sentence in July 2019. Several days after his imprisonment, he had a heart attack and died. ## Jeevajothi Santhakumar, who is looking forward to sharing her story with the world, said to Bollywood Hungama, "I am overwhelmed and elated by Junglee Pictures’ decision to make a feature film about my legal and emotional battle with this affluent hotelier, a struggle that went on for 18 years. I am confident that seeing this story on the big screen will bring about a drastic change in the status quo of patriarchy". ## Bhavani Iyer, who also penned Raazi, collaborating with Junglee Pictures for the second time. She is excited to join Junglee Pictures again for an aspirational story of Jeevajothi Santhakumar who fought a long battle against an incredibly powerful person and has survived to tell the tale. His last directorial film was Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. ## The film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, was supposed to be announced last year but due to the covid-19 pandemic, the makers delayed the announcement. The movie features Ranveer and Alia as Rocky and Rani, which is said to revolve around family values and love. It's Raining Remakes In Bollywood - Not One Or Two But Bollywood Gears Up For More Than 20 Remakes In Next Two-Three Years

Mumbai, July 5, 2021: Bollywood's love affair with remakes is not hidden from audiences. The largest film industry in the country, Bollywood has mastered adapting films from different languages - be it regional or international, and also able to give them a Bollywood touch to lure the Hindi audiences. ## In the last one and a half-decade, Bollywood stars have done films like Ghajini, Gabbar Is Back, Force, Singham, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Simmba, Son of Sardaar, Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Kabir Singh, and Baaghi, which all are remakes of Tamil and Telugu films but proved to be some of the highest grosser of its respective release years. ## Even though the Hindi filmmakers have often been criticized for the lack of fresh ideas, they continued to acquire the Hindi remakes of other languages. Last year, John Abraham had bought the rights to the 2020 Malayalam thriller film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, in which he will also be starring alongside Abhishek Bachchan. ## Acclaimed filmmaker, S Shankar announced that he will be remaking his own 2005 Tamil film, Anniyan in Hindi with Ranveer Singh playing the lead role. She will be producing the Hindi remake of the 2016 Kannada supernatural thriller film, U-Turn, which starred Shraddha Srinath in the lead role. ## The Hindi remake will be headed by Aalia Furniturewalla, who made a smashing debut with the 2020 comedy-drama film, Jawaani Jaaneman. U-Turn remake will be Alaya F's only second film that will be directed by debutante Arif Khan. Gulshan Kumar Murder Case: The Bombay High Court Acquits Tips' Owner Ramesh Taurani From All Chargers

Mumbai, July 1, 2021: The Bombay High Court today delivered the judgment in the murder case of T-Series owner, Gulshan Kumar, who was brutally killed in broad daylight on August 12, 1997. Ramesh Taurani, the owner of the music label Tips Industries Limited, was one of the accused with music director Nadeem Akhtar Saifee (of Nadeem-Shravan fame) in the case. ## Taurani was charged with allegedly conspiring with Saifee by hiring Dubai mafioso Abu Salem to carry out the murder. He was also charged for paying Nadeem a sum of Rs 2.5 million to carry out the execution. Taurani was arrested by Bombay's crime branch for 'abetting' music magnate Gulshan Kumar's murder but was later granted bail after being imprisoned. ## Five years later, in 2002, the sessions court dropped all charges against him. After his acquittal in the lower court, the State of Maharashtra then appealed in the High Court which has now been dismissed by the court after 19 years when a division bench of Justices Sadhana Jadhav and NR Borkar delivered a judgment today (July 1) and acquitted him from all chargers. ## Taurani called it a triumph of the truth after he got relief in the Gulshan Kumar murder case. "The appeal has been dismissed and my family and I happy and relieved. I was expecting the verdict. I had to go through a long ordeal that was not required. It has been almost 25 years and I have gone through a lot of trouble. I got my acquittal in 2002 but since then there have been so many appeals. The sessions court had given a detailed order so I felt that it was unnecessary to bring it up in the High Court. The judiciary is already burdened so I believe this was stretched too far", Taurani said (via News 18). ## Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court upheld the conviction of Abdul Rauf Merchant in the murder case. He was an aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2002 for Gulshan Kumar's murder in 1997. While delivering the judgment in the Gulshan Kumar murder case, the high court bench noted that Abdul Rauf Merchant had "criminal antecedents".## The bench said, "He is not entitled to remission as he absconded right after his arrest. He was released on furlough in 2009. His conviction continued as he fled parole and continued with his criminal activities. Hence in the interest of justice at large, he does not deserve any leniency". ## The bench, in its order, stated that they upheld the conviction and sentence passed against Abdul Rauf Dawood Merchant under section 302, 307 of IPC by the judgment of sessions court judge dated April 29, 2002. They also added that he is also convicted for the section under section 120-B of IPC. Top Filmmakers Have Written Against The Government's Proposed Changes To Cinematograph Act

Mumbai, June 30, 2021: Some of the top filmmakers of the country - Vetrimaaran, Anuraga Kashyap, Kamal Haasan, Hansal Mehta, among others have slammed the union government for proposed amendments to the 1952 Cinematograph Act, which, after the proposed changes, will grant the Centre "revisionary powers" and allow it to "re-examine" films that have already been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). ## These actors and filmmakers have written an open letter to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) opposing the government's proposed amendments to the 1952 Cinematograph Act. The proposal to amend the Cinematograph Act comes two month Centre dissolved the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) in April 2021", the letter said.## Kamal Haasan, who has often criticized the BJP-led central government, has again come hard on the government and slammed the proposed changes. Abhishek Bachchan To Reunite With John Abraham In The Hindi Remake Of The Malayalam Film Ayyappanum Koshiyum?

Mumbai, June 29, 2021: Last year on May 26, John Abraham had announced that he had bought the Hindi remake rights of the 2020 Malayalam film "Ayyappanum Koshiyum". He had said that he will be producing this action thriller film under his banner JA Entertainment. ## While the casting of the film was not announced then, it has now been said that John Abraham will play one of the lead roles in the film. And to make things even more interesting, Abhishek Bachchan, who has starred with John in Dostana and Dhoom earlier, will reportadly reunite with him in the Ayyappanum Koshiyum Hindi remake. ## The official announcement on the casting is yet to be made, but according to reports, John and Abhishek will step into the shoes of Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran respectively. Mission Mangal fame Jagan Shakti will be directing the film and the shooting will reportadly commence in September this year. ## Ayyappanum Koshiyum revolves around the conflict between Koshy Kurien, an influential and wealthy ex-Havildar, and Ayyappan Nair, a Sub-inspector in Attappadi. The film was written and directed by Sachy and produced by Ranjith and P. M. Sasidharan under the company Gold Coin Motion Picture Company.## Stay tuned...

Akshay Kumar's Next With Bell Bottom Makers Is The Remake Of Tamil Psychological Crime Thriller, Ratsasan?

Mumbai, June 29, 2021: Recently, it was reported that Akshay Kumar will be doing one more film with the makers of his upcoming spy thriller film, Bell Bottom (scheduled to release on July 27). It was said that producer Vashu Bhagnani narrated the script to Akshay during the shoot of Bell Bottom and was agreed to star in it. ## Now, according to Peepingmoon, the reports were indeed true and the movie is the official remake of the 2018 Tamil psychological crime thriller film, Ratsasan. The report said that Akshay will be stepping into the shoes of Vishnu Vishal in the critically-acclaimed film. Rakul Preet Singh has reportadly been cast opposite Akshay to play the female lead. ## It will be directed by Ranjit M Tewari, who also helmed Bell Bottom while Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment will be producing it. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on the floors in August in London following the bio-bubble protocols. The film will be finished in quick succession as the cast and crew will fly to London on August 5, for a start-to-finish schedule. ## Ratsasan is about an aspiring filmmaker who becomes a police officer after his father's death and investigates the murder of school girls. Directed by Ram Kumar, the original that also starred Amala Paul was a surprise hit that left everybody in the trade stunned. ## Stay tuned...
