Akshay Kumar Says No To The Sequels To Blockbuster Film Franchises

Mumbai, November 11 - A few days ago, it was reported that Akshay Kumar would be reviving the sequels to the blockbuster film franchises, such as Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Pagal Deewana, which has been in demand for a long time now. ## Things had started falling in place with multiple meetings between Akshay and producer Firoz Nadiadwala, however, it seems all goes in vain. According to the latest reports, Akshay has pulled out from doing "Hera Pheri 3", "Welcome 3", and "Awara Pagal Deewana 2". ## It is said that despite continued efforts to bring the aforementioned films to life, Akshay Kumar didn't convince by the idea of Firoz Nadiadwala to take these franchises forward. The actor reportedly believes these are iconic films and compromising with the quality will not do justice to these films. ## Akshay Kumar is looking to do a fresh comedy film, instead of riding on the popularity of past franchises with half-baked scripts. National Award-Winning Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur Confirms Reviving His Dream Project 'Paani'

Mumbai, November 1 - National award-winning filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was working on his most ambitious project, titled Paani. Yash Raj Films was supposed to produce the film with Sushant Singh Rajput playing the lead role. ## The project came to light after the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput when Shekhar released the script of "Paani". It was put on the back burner after Yash Raj Films reportedly opted out. However, things now seem to be returning on track and the filmmaker is keen to revive the film. ## During a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Shekhar Kapur confirmed that he is in touch with producers to revive "Paani" and he is hopeful that the project will meet its sweet end. ## "Hopefully next year, but let's talk when everything is locked. Ram Setu First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 31 - Ram Setu had an average first extended weekend at the box office with around 56cr net box office collections. There was a chance of hitting the 60cr mark but the film remained flat on Sunday due to a cricket match between India and South Africa in peak collections time.## That was one reason but the biggest reason for a limited Saturday growth and flat Sunday was due to average to poor feedback from the audiences as they did not like the film. The extended weekend collections of 56cr came due to the Diwali holidays and the star power of Akshay Kumar and not due to the film.## The first Monday's early estimates suggest 2.70 crores net which is a poor number once again and the film will continue to fall from here on. The first Monday collections will take the entire box office collections of Ram Setu to around the 58.70cr net box office mark. The lifetime business of the film is set to be around 80-85cr net unless the film drops heavily. Prabhas' 'Adipurush' To Be Postponed To Summer 2023?

Mumbai, October 30 - Prabhas fronted magnum opus Adipurush has reportedly been postponed to the summer of 2023. The makers are expected to make the official announcement of the postponement of this Om Raut's directorial in the coming days. ## "Adipurush" is currently slated for January 12, 2023, release on the occasion of Sankranthi. Sankranthi 2023 festival is jam-packed with big-budget South Indian films including Chiranjeevi's "Waltair Veerayya", and Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Veera Simha Reddy". ## It is said that the makers of "Adipurush" have been finding it difficult to get theaters in Telugu states due to multiple other releases and they have reportedly informed Telugu distributors about opting out from the Sankranthi race. ## Though the makers are yet to make the official announcement, reports say the movie will now release in the early summer of 2023. Ram Setu First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 30 - Ram Setu which underperformed on the first weekend had shown its first growth yesterday when it grew around 20% and it was expected that the film will show further growth today but that did not happen. Of course, the collections are better than yesterday but the trajectory of the film is not as good as it should have been. ## The film scored an estimated 7.75 crores net on its first Sunday, jumping approx. 5%. The main reasons for limited growth are a cricket world cup match of India and that too in peak collection time. The other reason for limited growth is less appreciation of the film barring a few circuits where it had done decent business.## The first Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections of Ram Setu to around the 56.50cr mark. There is a shortfall of 4cr which would have made the extended weekend of Ram Setu on a decent note. The Monday hold will give the idea of the lifetime business of the film and whether it will be able to cross 100cr net collections or not.
