Box Office: Drishyam 2 Races Past 200 Crore Gross Worldwide

Mumbai, November 28 - Ajay Devgn-fronted suspense thriller Drishyam 2 has breathed a new life into the ailing Bollywood film industry and emerged as a huge blockbuster. ## The Abhishek Pathak-directed movie has raced past the 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office in just 10 days, becoming only the 5th Bollywood movie of 2022 and 6th after the covid-19 pandemic to achieve the feat. The sequel is on track to finish over 300 crores in its lifetime run.## Produced by Panorama Studios, Viacom18, and T-Series, "Drishyam 2" is a remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam blockbuster of the same name and a sequel to Ajay's 2015 movie, which itself was a huge hit. The movie opened to super positive reviews from critics and audiences alike which led to the foundation of a strong first week of over 104 crores net.## "Drishyam 2" remained equally strong in its second weekend despite the arrival of "Bhediya". In 10 days, the movie has managed to gross around 170 crores at the domestic box office while overseas, it has collected approx. 33 crores, helping the total worldwide to reach around 203 crores. ## Ajay Devgn plays the titular role of Vijay Salgaunkar, who along with his family copes with the reopening of a murder case that refuses to stop haunting them. Box Office: Bhediya First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, November 27 - Varun Dhawan starrer "Bhediya" opened to an average response on day one though the film had a good growth of nearly 30% on the second day and the expectations were that the film will have a big day on Sunday which just not happened. The creature comedy is witnessing a jump of around 15% on Sunday.## The early estimate collections suggest around 11 crores net. The first Sunday collections will take the entire collections of Bhediya to a little over the 28cr net box office mark and the film will struggle to collect well after the first weekend due to mixed reactions. ## There is no doubt the film has been affected by the Drishyam2 wave as that film remains the number one choice for moviegoers even outside Mumbai, Gujarat, and Maharashtra belts where Bhediya appeals more than Drishyam2. The film should hold well on Monday and then on subsequent days otherwise it will be another nonperformer for the Hindi film industry.## The box office is now in a healthy position compared to the last 6-8 months but the content has to be appealing to the audience otherwise many films will keep biting the dust. Box Office: Drishyam 2 Second Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, November 27 - Drishyam 2 is in no mood to slow down at the box office as the film continues its upward trend. It has seen good growth today as the early estimate collections suggest a 16.50-17 crores net collection which will be more than the opening day collections of many huge films released in the last 6 to 8 months. ## The huge second Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections to approx 143.50cr net mark. Prabhas, Kriti Sanon's Magnum Opus 'Adipurush' To Be Delayed To 2024?

Mumbai, November 26 - A lot has changed since the release of the teaser of Prabhas-fronted Adipurush and it looks like there is a lot yet to change. The teaser, which was launched in early October, got mixed to negative responses which forced the makers to take a step back and re-work the quality of the movie. ## It was recently revealed that the movie would not able to meet its original release date of January 12, 2023, and would be delayed, which the makers officially confirmed and announced June 16, 2023, release. However, as per the latest reports, "Adipurush" will be further delayed as the makers are re-working on the entire VFX shots. ## It is said that the budget of "Adipurush" will be increased by approx. 100 crores and the release might get delayed to Sankranthi 2024. It was supposed to be Prabhas' next release, but now, it seems his action thriller "Salaar" with director Prashanth Neel will be hitting theaters first. ## "Salaar", produced by Hombale Films, was announced for September 28, 2023, release and it is very much on track to meet the date without any issues. Box Office: Bhediya Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, November 25 - The big release of this week "Bhediya" starring Varun Dhawan has been released in theaters today. The film has seen a big release on approx more than 2500 screens though some Varun Dhawan starters had gone higher in screens compared to Bhediya. The morning start of the film was low and that proved to be a killer for the film. After the dull morning start, the film did see some walk-ins in subsequent screenings but it couldn't pick as the early estimates suggest around 7.50 crores net (final numbers may vary). Mumbai, November 25 - Drishyam 2 continues its blockbuster run at the box office. Once again the drop in the film will be less than 10% which is a huge achievement for any film in the second week. The second Friday collections of Drishyam2 will come out to be higher than many big films opening day collections.## The early estimate suggests around 8 crores net on the second Friday, which takes the entire collections of the film to over 112.50 crores net mark. The film is set for a big second-weekend number and it won't be surprising if Drishyam 2 collects better than Bhediya which is visible on day one as Drishyam2 will come out to be on a higher side compared to Bhediya despite being on the eighth day compared to the first day of Bhediya.## The film will see further growth tomorrow and eventually will fire on the second Sunday as this will be the first choice for moviegoers. Mumbai, November 23 - Drishyam 2 continues its victory march at the box office with strong collections across all the circuits. Just like yesterday when the film had a negligible drop of around 10% today also the film witnessed a similar sort of drop which is extraordinary as in real terms the business has dropped due to lower average ticket prices. If we compare the number of admits then there is not much difference between the first-day admits and today's admits.## On its first Wednesday, "Drishyam 2" scored an estimated 9.25-9.75 crores net. A double-digit Wednesday cannot rule out too as the way the film has performed over the last few days these type of multiplex films generally does the highest business in night shows and if night shows outperform then 10 cr Wednesday won't be that hard. ## The first Wednesday collections will take the entire box office collections of Drishyam 2 to approx 96.25cr net box office mark depending on the actual Wednesday collections. The first week business of 100cr which looked difficult a few days back will be surpassed easily due to insane holds over the weekdays. The business on weekdays has proved to be better than the first weekend collections as the weekdays business enabled the film to score the 100cr mark in the first week.## Drishyam2 has a shot at a 200cr grosser from here on although next week will see a big release in the form of Bhediya, which won't harm the business of Drishyam2 due to being an established film with universal appreciation. The Cast For Akshay Kumar's Comedy Film With Mudassar Aziz Locked

Mumbai, November 23 - A few months ago, it was reported that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar would be teaming up with director Mudassar Aziz for a comedy-drama film, titled Khel Khel Mein. The yet-to-be-announced film will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.## While the movie is not yet made official, the makers have reportedly locked the rest of the cast alongside Akshay in prominent roles. According to Hindustan Times, Akshay's "Bell Bottom" (2021) co-star Vaani Kapoor, and also his "Naam Shabana" (2017) and "Mission Mangal" (2019) co-star Taapsee Pannu would be playing the female lead role.## In addition to this, the upcoming movie will also reportedly feature popular Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk in a prominent role. Some more actors are also expected to come on board for which the details are not revealed yet. "Khel Khel Mein" is said to be a proper comedy feature with emotional elements. ## The shooting of "Khel Khel Mein" is expected to kickstart sometime next year after Akshay wraps up his ongoing projects. He will also start Ali Abbas Zafar's big-budget comedy actioner "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", co-starring Tiger Shroff, in January 2023. Ajay Devgn's And Mohanlal's 'Drishyam 3' Hindi And Malayalam Versions To Be Made Simultaneously?

Mumbai, November 22 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's suspense thriller Drishyam 2 was released directly on Amazon Prime Video in February 2021 and received critical acclaim. Jeetu Joseph directed the film that was hailed as one of the best thrillers ever in Malayalam cinema.## The Hindi remake of "Drishyam 2", starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, was released in theaters on November 18 and scored blockbuster numbers in the opening weekend. Box Office: Drishyam 2 First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, November 22 - Drishyam 2 continues its dream run at the box office as the film did not show a big drop despite higher collections on the first Monday. The film is probably the biggest success for the Hindi film industry post-pandemic in real terms though the job has not been finished till now.## The early estimate collections suggest 10.50-11 crores net on the first Tuesday. The first Tuesday collections will take the entire box office collections of the film to over 86.50 crores net mark and the target of 100cr first week is easy now.
