Maddock Films Advances Shraddha Kapoor's 'Stree 2' On Independence Day 2024

Mumbai, June 14 - The Independence Day 2024 weekend is getting super crowded after Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films advanced the release date of its highly-anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 was supposed to be released on August 31 but after the postponement of Ajay Devgn's Singham 3 and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, the makers decided to prepone the movie by two weeks and it will now be released on August 15, 2024, which is one of the best release dates of the year.## A sequel to 2018's film, Stree 2, however, will have to face a double challenge this Independence Day weekend as Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's action drama Vedaa are already scheduled to hit the big screens on this exact date. ## Stree 2 is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Mumbai, June 14 - Director Rohit Shetty and Bollywood star Ajay Devgn have locked the Diwali 2024 release date for his highly-awaited action drama Singham Again after postponing it from Independence Day weekend. The makers announced the new date a day after Ajay Devgn confirmed the movie wouldn't make it to the August 15 deadline. ## Produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez with Reliance Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Devgn Films, Singham Again was supposed to clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule on this Independence Day weekend but now both movies have been pushed back, however, new release date of Pushpa 2 is not yet locked. ## Singham 3 will now clash with Kartik Aaryan's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which is already scheduled for Diwali release. Box Office: 'Munjya' Score Fantastic First Week

Mumbai, June 13 - Producer Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy Munjya ends the opening week with a fantastic collection of over 35 crores net after the miraculous trend during the weekdays with almost no drop from Monday - Thursday. ## The Aditya Sarpotdar's directorial movie cleared the 35 crores mark after scoring an estimated 3.75-4 crores net on its first Thursday. Interestingly, or rather incredibly, the collection of Munjya remained in the range of the 4 crores mark which indicates a long run for the movie at the domestic box office. ## The opening week collection of Munjya is the 7th biggest first week total for a Bollywood movie of 2024. Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's highly-anticipated action thriller Jigra has been postponed to avert a clash with Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's Devara. Ajay Devgn Confirms 'Singham Again' Postponement Rumours

Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn has confirmed the rumours about the postponement of the highly-anticipated action drama Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. The actor said that the shoot of the movie is still pending and the team is not eyeing the already announced date. ## Ajay Devgn was speaking at the trailer launch event of his upcoming romantic thriller, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, which is scheduled to release on July 5. When asked about the status of Singham 3, the actor said that he doesn't think the movie will be ready by August 15. ## "I am not sure (about the release date). The work on the film, which kicked off earlier, has not been completed yet and a few portions of the shoot are pending as well. Mumbai, June 13 - Filmmaker J. P. Dutta has joined hands with producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series to announce the sequel to War epic Border. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's 'Stree 2' Teaser Details Revealed

Mumbai, June 7 - The most-anticipated film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe is Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 which is the sequel to 2018's Stree. The movie is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios. ## The industry is waiting for the response to Stree 2 which will be released in August this year. Meanwhile, the makers are gearing up to launch the movie's teaser soon after completing the censorship formalities yesterday. ## It is learned that the teaser of Stree 2 was censored on June 7 and it received a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 1 minute and 23 seconds. Mumbai, June 8 - Director Aditya Sarpotdar's Munjya has taken the third-best opening in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe after performing way above expectations. It is the 4th movie in the studio's successful Supernatural Universe after Stree (2018), Roohi (2021), and Bhediya (2022).## Starring Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Sathyaraj in the key roles, Munjya scored approximately 4 crores net on its opening day, including the previews. In the horror-comedy universe, it is the third-best start after Bhediya (7.50 crores net) and Stree (6.82 crores net). Box Office: Munjya Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 7 - The latest entry in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjya surprises with a better-than-expected opening at the domestic box office, thanks to the lower-than-normal ticket prices which boosted its prospects. ## The movie has less face value but its connection with the horror-comedy universe, plus reasonable ticket prices seem to have worked wonders as it has taken the opening of 3.50-3.75 crores net, as per the early estimates, which wasn't looking a possibility before the release. ## Munjya scored a decent pre-sales which indicated the opening in the range of 2 crores net but credit should be given to the makers for opting for non-popular prices. The initial word of mouth also seems to be on the positive side which pushes the collection beyond 3 crores net. ## The opening weekend collection of Munjya could well be 13-15 crores net which is a good total. Chandigarh, June 6 - Actress turned-politician, Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday, according to a report by NDTV. ## Kangana Ranaut was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh on the Bhartiya Janata Party ticket. The actress was about to board a flight to Delhi from Chandigarh airport when the incident happened at around 3 PM today. ## It is alleged that Kangana was moving towards the boarding area at the airport to travel to Delhi when the CISF official, Kulwinder Kaur, allegedly argued with her and slapped her. The constable has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur.
