Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' Story To Be Based On 100 Crore Tax Evasion

Mumbai, June 6 - The shooting of Ajay Devgn-fronted Raid 2 has reportedly been completed and it has now entered the post-production stage. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the movie also stars Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in prominent roles and is gearing up for release soon. ## Raid 2 is the sequel to 2018's hit crime thriller Raid which was based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. Ajay Devgn played the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik and has reprised in the sequel. ## The sequel is also reportedly based on real-life events of a businessman fooling the Income Tax Department for Rs. 100 crore. Netflix Top 10: Crew Emerges Third Most Watched Indian Movie of 2024

Mumbai, June 5 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's heist comedy Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon is turning out to be a big success on Netflix after emerging as one of the biggest box office successes of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, taking one of the best starts of the year for an Indian title. ## The movie's viewership shot up in the second week (May 27 - June 2) as it scored 8.9 million views. In 10 days so far, Crew has generated 14.3 million views and become the third most-watched Indian movie of the year on Netflix. By next week, it is expected to become the most-watched title by topping Laapataa Ladies.## Crew was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of May 27 - June 2. Mumbai, June 3 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi passes the Monday test with a decent hold with a drop of around 60% from Sunday collection of 5.50 crores net approx.## According to the early estimates, the sports romantic drama scored around 2-2.25 crores net collection on its first Monday/fourth day. The drop from the opening day is around 65% but the first day collection was boosted by cinema lovers day. Mumbai, June 2 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi has a good opening weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 17 crores net. ## The romantic sports drama witnessed a jump of around 20% on Sunday for an estimated 5.25-5.75 crores net collection, pushing the total collection to around 17 crores in the first 3-day weekend which is on the expected lines. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi got a cinema day boost on its opening day so the weekend collection is probably around 3 crores higher than what it could have been with the regular prices. The positive word of mouth also played its part as the movie held decently on Saturday before seeing a good jump on Sunday. ## The overall fate of the movie will be determined by how it performs during weekdays and for consistent collection, Mr and Mrs Mahi will need to hold well on Sunday with a collection of 2-2.50 crores net. Mumbai, June 2 - One of the biggest Tamil hits of 2022, romantic-comedy Love Today is getting its Hindi remake with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in the lead roles while Advait Chandan, who directed Secret Superstar (2017) and Lal Singh Chaddha (2022), is directing it. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Hindi remake of Love Today has been titled Loveyapa, named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa. Junaid and Khushi play a deeply-in-love young couple in this quirky love story. ## Produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, the shoot of Loveyapa reportedly commenced on May 27 and is currently being shot at Mira Road in Mumbai. Mumbai, May 31 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi has taken a good start at the domestic box office, thanks to the Cinema Lovers Day which boosted the footfalls due to lower ticket prices. ## The movie witnessed excellent occupancy throughout the day and scored an estimated 6.75-7.25 crores net collection on its opening day. Cannes, May 25 - Actress Anasuya Sengupta has created history by becoming the first Indian to win the Best Actress award at the Un Certain Regard segment of the Cannes Film Festival. ## Sengupta received the prestigious award for her role in the film Shameless directed and written by Bulgarian filmmaker Constantin Bojanov.
