Kochi, May 13 - The Kerala box office is witnessing a history to unfold as superstar Mohanlal's drama thriller Thudarum has become the first film ever to enter the 100 crore club in the state. It took just 19 days to achieve the historic milestone. ## Thudarum was released on April 25 and scored a fantastic 5+ crore gross opening in the home state. The positive word of mouth helped the movie to score big gains over the weekend, followed by the sensational hold during the weekdays, as it scored approximately 47 crores gross in Kerala in the first week. ## Even after the big first week, the Tharun Moorthy's directorial remained a strong force at the box office and grossed a solid approximately 36.75 crore in the second week, followed by another 11.75 crore gross in the third weekend. On its 3rd Tuesday, the film enters the 100 crore club in Kerala and scripts a red-letter moment for the state's box office. ## With this, Kerala has become the 5th South Indian state after Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka to have a 100 crore grossing film. Given the movie market of Kerala, which is not as big as the other South Indian markets, this record is truly special. ## Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, Thudarum has grossed approximately 208 crores, including 118 crores in India and 90 crores overseas in 18 days. Mumbai, May 13 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's hugely anticipated action thriller King is getting bigger with each passing day, with its casting. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who reunites with King Khan after the mega blockbuster Pathaan (2023). ## Recently, it was reported that Arshad Warsi joined the cast of King, and now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, veteran Anil Kapoor has also joined the film. He will reportedly play the role of SRK's mentor. "Shah Rukh Khan plays an assassin in King, Anil Kapoor will be seen as his handler", says the report.## "There were multiple actors considered for the part, but the team amicably feels that Anil Kapoor suits the role to the T. Anil Kapoor is also excited to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan on this mega-budget actioner", the report further states.## The shoot of King will commence in Mumbai between the window of May 18 to May 20. The film will be shot over a 100-day period in India and abroad as the makers are eyeing to release it on the big screen worldwide in the last quarter of 2026.## "The film has been written keeping the theatrical sensibilities of the modern audience in mind, and presents Shah Rukh Khan like never before – raw and rooted. Kochi, May 11 - A day after becoming the highest-grossing film ever in Kerala, superstar Mohanlal's drama thriller Thudarum has topped 200 crores at the worldwide box office and emerged the third Malayalam movie of all-time to do so. ## The film has taken just 17 days to pull off the double century, which makes it the second fastest Mollywood title after Empuraan to do so. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum is estimated to have grossed around 205 crores globally, including 115 crores in India and around 90 crores overseas through the third Sunday (17 days). ## Before Thudarum, Mohanlal's Empuraan (267 crore) and Manjummel Boys (241 crores) achieved the milestone of a 200 crore Mollywood grosser. Empuraan, which was released in March this year, is also the highest-grossing Malayalam film and the domestic as well as overseas box office. ## The Kerala gross collection of the latest blockbuster is nearing 95 crores, and it will be entering the 100 crores club this week to become the first film to achieve the milestone in the state. Mumbai, May 11 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is once again set to display his stardom among the Indian audience as his spy action thriller, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is heading for a big opening at the Indian box office upon its release on May 17. ## The Christopher McQuarrie's directorial sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) is hitting fantastic advances in India. With 6 days still to go before the release, the blockbuster has sold over 12,000 advance tickets in the three multiplex chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis) for the opening weekend. ## For the opening day alone, The Final Reckoning has sold over 8K tickets in PIC, which is fantastic. The pre-sales are mainly scoring in the premium format. It needs to be seen how the pre-sales progress leading up to the release date, but the early signs are super positive. ## Dead Reckoning was a big hit and took the opening of approximately 15 crore gross in India. Here, the upcoming tentpole to expected to hit 20 crores gross or higher opening, given that it will be released on Saturday (May 17) and also be the final film in the Mission: Impossible franchise. ## As said, the predecessor was a big success with the lifetime gross collection of 131+ crores in India. Kochi, May 11 - Superstar Mohanlal's mega blockbuster drama thriller Thudarum has become the highest-grossing film ever at the Kerala box office, beating 2023 blockbuster survival thriller 2018 Movie in just 16 days. ## The film, directed by Tharun Moorthy, grossed approximately 90.25 crores in Kerala in 16 days and surpassed the lifetime Kerala gross of 2018, which was around 88.50 crores. The movie is now marching towards the rare 100 crore club in the state, and it is expected to achieve the feat this week. ## At the worldwide box office, Thudarum is set to cross 200 crores gross collection today, on its 17th day after grossing approximately 196 crores in the first 16 days (through the third Saturday). It will become only the third Malayalam movie of all time after Manjummel Boys (241 crore) and Empuraan (267 crore) to enter the 200 crore club. ## In 16 days so far, the movie has minted around 109 crore gross in India, which is the third highest for a Malayalam movie, and around 86 crore gross at the overseas box office. Mumbai, May 10 - National multiplex theatre chain, PVRINOX, has reportedly sued producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films for cancelling the theatrical release date of its romantic comedy drama Bhool Chuk Maaf at the last minute. ## A day before the film's release on May 9, Maddock Films and Amazon Prime issued a statement stating that the theatrical release of Bhool Chuk Maaf was called off aftermath of the ongoing border conflict between India and Pakistan. The studio announced that the movie would now be released directly on Prime Video on May 9. ## According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, PVR Inox has decided to take legal action against the production house for damages of Rs. 60 crores for non-playability of the movie. While Maddock stated the conflict as the reason behind the decision, the theatre alleged that the decision was taken due to poor advance booking. ## "PVR has submitted their case in the Bombay High Court. The matter became serious as all the contracts were signed, and then suddenly Maddock backed off. Hence, this is a case of breach of contract", says the report quoting a source. ## Directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. Los Angeles, May 10 - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the official first look title of its next Monsterverse film, the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). ## Directed by Grant Sputore, the film has been titled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and it is currently in production. The movie will hit the big screen on March 26, 2027, the studio re-confirmed its previous release date announcement. ## Along with the title announcement, a short teaser was also released, which shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organisation that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. Mumbai, May 9 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-fronted crime drama thriller Raid 2 has topped 100 crores net collection, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie of the year to do so. It achieved the milestone of 100 crores net on its second Friday (9th day). ## Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the sequel is looking to score around 5 crore net today, which will take its total collection to around 101 crore in 9 days. The movie has shown a strong hold with almost zero drop today, which indicates a strong second weekend. ## Raid 2 is the 4th Bollywood film of 2025 after Sikandar (110 crores), Sky Force (113.50+ crores), and Chhaava (600+ crores) to enter the coveted 100 crores net club. It has become the 129th Hindi film and 15th for Ajay Devgn to achieve the feat. ## It is among the very few Bollywood titles of the year to emerge as a box office hit. Mumbai, May 9 - Indian actor and politician Kangana Ranaut is all set to step into the Hollywood cinema as the National Award-winning actress has grabbed the leading role in the horror drama Blessed Be the Evil, reports Variety.## According to the report, Ranaut will star alongside Tyler Posey ("Teen Wolf") and Scarlet Rose Stallone ("Tulsa King") in the film. The production is set to begin this summer in New York, with producers specifically noting they chose U.S. locations to avoid recently announced Trump industry tariffs.## The film will be produced by Anurag Rudra ("New Me", "Tailing Pond") from a screenplay he co-wrote with Gatha Tiwary, president and founder of Lions Movies, which is producing the project. Mumbai, May 8 - Critically acclaimed action thriller film Kill director Nikhil Bhat is reportedly in talks for a Hollywood superhero movie in a groundbreaking development for Indian cinema. ## According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, Bhat is in discussions with Universal Studios. It is still unclear if there have been any draft deal papers yet, but the report claims that negotiations have been underway for some time. ## The filmmaker is reportedly represented by the Hollywood talent agency WME (William Morris Endeavor), which is said to be negotiating the deal on his behalf. In this process, it has become the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. ## Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum has crossed Tovino Thomas' 2023 survival thriller 2018 Movie (180 crores) as I type this on its 14th day to become the third biggest grosser, behind only Manjummel Boys (241 crores) and Empuraan (266.50+ crores). ## Thudarum had scored approximately 120 crores gross in its first week, while the second week is heading towards around 65 crores with less than 50% drop, which is excellent. Mumbai, May 8 - Maddock Films has called off the theatrical release of its comedy drama film Bhool Chuk Maaf in the light of recent events and heightened security drills across the nation. The movie was scheduled to hit the big screen on May 9. ## Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in the leading roles, will now be released directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 16, a week after its proposed theatrical release. The film is directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios.## The studio took to social media platforms to share the update and confirmed the direct-to-digital release of the movie on Prime Video.
