Ranveer Singh To Headline Director Aditya Dhar's Next Action Thriller

Mumbai, March 4 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is going to have a super busy next couple of years with back-to-back big-ticket entertainers coming his way. It is already known to everyone that the actor will be headlining Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 and also has superhero film Shaktimaan in the pipeline. ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the Gully Boy star is in talks to headline director Aditya Dhar's action thriller film before the aforementioned two films. Ranveer is already said to have given his nod for the movie and is on the verge of signing the project officially. ## "After URI, Aditya Dhar has been looking to create something special and is finally set to embark on a new journey with an action thriller led by Ranveer Singh. The film is set against the backdrop of Indian Intelligence Agencies and will see Ranveer in a completely new avatar - it's a real, heroic, and larger-than-life world", says the report. ## It is said that the duo of Ranveer and Aditya have met 3-4 times and the former can't wait to start this film soon. The actor couldn't say no once he heard the script and got all charged up to be a part of Dhar’s world in the first meeting itself. The filming is expected to begin in April/May this year. ## As planned, Don 3 will commence filming in August/September this year and by May next year, the ambitious Shaktimaan will start rolling. Box Office: Fighter Total Worldwide Collection After 5 Weeks

Mumbai, March 1 - Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's aerial action thriller Fighter is nearing its box office as the movie currently stands at over 350 crores gross at the worldwide box office after 5 weeks of its theatrical run. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter at one stage looked down and out but staying true to its title, the movie fought back to reach a respectable total. In its 5th week, the movie minted approximately 2.80 crores net (3.25 crores gross) at the domestic box office, pushing the total India net to around 211.75 crores (253.75 crores gross). ## While the domestic collection is decent, the movie has done well at the overseas box office by grossing over 100 crores at an estimated 101 crores in 5 days, pushing the total worldwide collection to 355 crores gross.## Fighter has become Hrithik Roshan's third-biggest grosser at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office and for Deepika Padukone, it is her 5th biggest domestic grosser and 7th worldwide. The drop from the second week is around 50% which is a pretty solid hold for a movie that was rejected by most of the critics. ## Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya started the third week with a good collection of 2.50 crores net on Friday on which ticket prices were sold at just Rs. 99, before scoring approximately 7.50 crores net in the third weekend. ## After the weekend, TBMAUJ showed a steady trend and scored around 3.15 crores net from Monday to Thursday for approximately 10.65 crores net third week. The total collection of the film is currently at around 76.70 crores net and the movie is heading towards finishing around 80-85 crores lifetime collection. ## TBMAUJ is also doing well at the overseas box office and has minted an estimated 38 crores in three weeks. Mumbai, February 29 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' political thriller Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the leading roles, scored a good first week at the domestic box office, scoring over 35 crores net collection.## The movie, based on the real events that led to the abrogating of Article 370 in J&K, was released on February 23 and opened to a good collection of around 5.9 crores at a discounted price. Due to positive word of mouth, the movie witnessed growth over the weekend and minted approximately 23 crores net in the first 3 days. ## Article 370 witnessed a drop of over 60% on Monday for around 3.25 crores net but since then, the movie showed consistency in collection and remained over 3 crores net during the weekdays. The first week collection of the film is around 35.50 crores net which is good considering the theme. ## The 35.50 crores net collection is the fifth biggest first-week total for a Yami Gautam-starrer in the leading role, after Uri, OMG 2, Bala, and Kaabil. Blockbuster 'Drishyam' Franchise To Be Remade In Hollywood

Mumbai, February 29 - The blockbuster Indian suspense thriller film franchise Drishyam is set to be remade in the English language. India's Panorama Studios has joined hands with U.S. companies Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to bring the movie to Hollywood. ## Drishaym was originally made in Malayalam language, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. It was remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles in 2015 and later, a sequel in both languages released in 2021 and 2022, respectively. ## Panorama Studios produced the Hindi version and also acquired the international remake rights to Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. The studio has already announced a Korean-language remake of the film in 2023 and is close to finalising a deal to remake the movie in Spanish-language. ## "Drishyam's clever narrative has a universal appeal and we are keen to celebrate this story with audiences worldwide. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection and Records

Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh marked his return to the big screen in 2023 with mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January, followed by ever-bigger success in the form of Jawan in September, and by the end of the year, the actor scored another success in the form of Dunki. ## Dunki was supposed to be SRK's biggest movie due to his maiden collaboration with Maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. However, the comedy-drama couldn't come close to the actor's previous two movies though it ended up as a successful venture due to a controlled production budget. ## Released during the Christmas 2023 weekend, Dunki scored approximately 29 crores net upon its Thursday opening but the film couldn't show much growth from thereon during the weekend. It still scored a good first-week collection of 160 crores net but due to the mixed word of mouth, the movie dropped heavily in the second week to around 46 crores net. ## Dunki competed with Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and the holdover Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, however, kept pushing at low levels and eventually was able to cross 200 crores net collection, which can be termed decent given the genre but a lot was expected from the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo. ## The movie also underperformed at the overseas box office with an estimated 182 crores. Mumbai, February 24 - After a good first day, Yami Gautam-starrer Article 370 shows a very good spike of around 30% on its second day. The jump today is a huge positive sign for the film as the opening day collection came due to discounted prices but today the film has normal rates. ## According to early estimates, the political thriller scored an estimated 7.50 (+/-) crores net collection, taking the total cume to approximately 13.40 crores net in two days. The movie has set itself up for a big Sunday as the first weekend looks to be around 22-25 crores net. ## The opening of the film was encouraging with discounted ticket prices but there were doubts about whether it could hold the collection with normal rates. Netflix Top 10: Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' and Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' Make Into The Top 10 Movies

Mumbai, February 21 - Director Rajkumar Hirani's comedy-drama Dunki starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan debuted in the top 5 most-watched non-English movies on Netflix during the week of February 12 - February 18. ## Dunki was made available to watch online after 8 weeks of the theatrical run on February 15. The movie scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days of its launch and was the fifth most-watched non-English movie globally on the platform during the week. ## Produced by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki is trending in the top 10 in 15 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Maldives, Oman, and Mauritius. ## Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram continued to be in the top 10 non-English movies on Netflix for the second consecutive week. The Telugu and Hindi versions of the film were in the top 10 in its opening week (Feb. 5-11) and scored 8.1 million viewing hours from 3.1 million views. ## In the film's second week (Feb. 12-18), the Hindi version continued to attract viewership with 4.8 million viewing hours from 1.8 million views. The total viewership of the film is now 12.9 million viewing hours from 4.9 million and it is trending in the top 10 in 7 countries. ## Meanwhile, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor failed to make it into the top 10 for the fourth consecutive week. Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanathara, Sandeep Reddy Vanga Take Top Honours At The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024

Mumbai, February 21 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won the Best Actor award at the Dadasahab Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) 2024. The actor won this honour for mega-blockbuster Jawan in which he played a dual role. ## The superstar said in his acceptance speech, "Thank you for accepting me as a best actor. I hadn't won the Best Actor award for a while now and thought that I wouldn't receive it now. But I am so happy I got this award. I am genuinely thrilled and touched".## While SRK grabbed the Best Actor, actress Nayanthara took the Best Actress award for the same film that marked her Bollywood debut. She was presented the award by Shah Rukh Khan himself for her super performance in Jawan, directed by Atlee. ## Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga won the Best Director award at the Dadasahab Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 for the movie Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. A Sequel To Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan In Development At Yash Raj Films

Mumbai, February 20 - A sequel to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's spy action thriller Pathaan is reportedly in development at Yash Raj Films. It is touted to be the 8th movie in the studio's ambitious Spy Universe. ## In January 2023, SRK made his Spy Universe debut with Pathaan and also marked his comeback to the big screen after 4 years. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie went on to gross over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing Spy Universe film and one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## It has been reported that YRF is now focusing solely on Spy Universe and has already lined up a couple of projects. According to Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra and his team have worked on the script of Pathaan 2 over the last year and planning to take it on floors by the end of this year. ## Reportedly, Pathaan 2 will lead the events of Tiger vs Pathaan which was earlier supposed to go on floors by 2024.
