Rana Daggubati In Talks To Play Aurangzeb With Shahid Kapoor as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj In 'OMG 2' Director Amit Rai's Next
Mumbai, June 8 - Earlier this year, it was reported that Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor would be headlining OMG 2 director Amit Rai's next film on the legendary warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Now, the makers have initiated talks with other actors to come on board. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Amit Rai and his team are in talks with Telugu actor Rana Daggubati to play the role of Aurangzeb in the historical drama film. The actor is said to be the top priority of the makers, however, the logistics need to fall in place for the actor to come on board the film. ## It is said that the movie will chronicle key chapters of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life and the makers plan to treat it as a thriller, as the backdrop of the feature film is more on the lines of a jail-break by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the era gone by rather than treating it as a biopic. ## The shoot of the movie is expected to commence by the end of this year or early 2025. Shahid, meanwhile, will next be seen in director Rosshan Andrrews' action thriller Deva, scheduled to release in October 2024.
