Gujarati Film Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate Sees Unexpected Turnaround In Collections In Week 4 At The Domestic Box Office

Mumbai, November 7 - The Indian box office witnessed an unprecedented turnaround this week after Gujarati devotional drama film Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate, which turned into a sensation in its 4th weekend at the domestic box office. After scoring just around 35 lakh gross in the first week, followed by 30 lakh in the second week, and around 75 lakh in the third, the film's collection exploded in the 4th week to gross well over 10 crores. The unexpected growth came after the film was expanded to more screens across the state and beyond. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Laalo had a timid response initially, with hardly any movement in the collection. There were no signs of a potential breakout success as it failed to show any growth in the second week. It was reported that the makers showed the film in villages for free, which led to word of mouth spreading exponentially across the state. The Ankit Sakhiya's directorial grossed approximately 14.50 crores in its 4th week, jumping by over 4000% from the opening frame, which is something unheard of before. It had its biggest day on the 4th Wednesday (27th day) when it grossed approximately 3.25 crores, which is more than double the combined first three weeks' total. The total collection of the film is around 15.50 crores in 28 days. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As said, this is the second back-to-back blockbuster for Gujarati cinema, which otherwise has had a poor year so far. Earlier, action comedy Chaniya Toli, which is currently playing in theatres and bringing solid numbers, emerged as a blockbuster. It has grossed over 19 crores so far. Stay tuned...

As the next weekend rolls in, it is well-placed to keep adding steady numbers, and if this pace continues, a ₹90–95 crore worldwide finish looks comfortably within reach before the run starts slowing down.

Supreme Court Warns Multiplexes Over Exorbitant Prices

New Delhi, November 4 - The Supreme Court of India has raised serious concerns over the exorbitant prices charged by multiplexes for food and beverages. Over the last many years, theatres have struggled to bring the audiences, and the unaffordable prices are one of the major reasons for it. On Monday, a bench of the apex court, comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta, in an oral observation, said that exorbitant rates for tickets and food items at multiplexes could drive moviegoers away. They observed that the rates should be appropriately fixed so that people will come. According to Live Law, the apex court's observations came while hearing petitions by Multiplex Association of India against a recent Karnataka HC order to cap multiplex ticket prices at 200. The SC bench stayed the HC order, while issuing a notice on the petitions. Recently, the Karnataka Government passed an order that movie ticket prices in multiplexes shouldn't be more than Rs. 200. To challenge the order, the makers of Kantara Chapter 1 moved the high court, which stayed the order till further notice. The Karnataka HC had directed the multiplexes to keep auditable records of every ticket sold, both online and offline, so that refunds can be made if the multiplexes lose the case. The HC also ordered to maintain audit reports verified by a CA regularly, among other things. Stay tuned...

Yami Gautam recently highlighted that passing scrutiny in the UAE signals the film’s balanced, non-provocative approach to its subject.“If there are no problems there, it means this film isn’t here to antagonise any faith,” Yami noted in a recent interaction. Haq revisits the Shah Bano landmark case, one of India’s most pivotal legal battles around women’s rights and religious law. With themes rooted in justice, faith, and societal reform, the film walks a fine line — and its clean international clearances suggest a respectful treatment of the narrative. Director Suparn Varma reportedly focuses on courtroom intensity, personal trauma, and ethical debate rather than sensationalism — a choice that seems to have helped the film earn regulatory approvals smoothly. While the film has been cleared, controversy hasn’t stayed far. Shah Bano’s daughter reportedly issued a legal notice objecting to the use of her mother’s story without consent. As of now, the film’s release schedule remains unaffected. With a UA in India — allowing teenagers to watch with guidance — and 15+ in UAE, the film is positioned for a wide audience.Haq now walks into release week with the credibility of global approvals, a quietly confident cast, and a topic that continues to resonate decades later. If early signals are anything to go by, this courtroom drama may well spark conversations not just in theatres, but beyond them.

100 Days of Mahavatar Narsimha: The Game-Changer That Could Redefine the Future of Indian Animation Bollywood

100 Days of Mahavatar Narsimha: The Game-Changer That Could Redefine the Future of Indian Animation

Mumbai, November 1 — Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films' Mahavatar Narsimha, the animation phenomenon that took the box office by storm, has completed 100 glorious days in theatres, marking a defining moment for Indian animation cinema. The film has defied expectations by grossing a massive around 327 crores worldwide, including almost 300 crores from India alone. With its remarkable run nearing completion, the Ashwin Kumar's directorial has proven that animation can command the same scale and respect as live-action blockbusters, even at the Indian box office, which hasn't seen much from the Indian cinema when it comes to animation. Released amid moderate expectations, Mahavatar Narsimha found attention through strong word of mouth, and once it got that, the film was unstoppable. It reimagined the story of Lord Narsimha — the half-man, half-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu — through state-of-the-art animation and cinematic storytelling. What set the film apart was its grand visual language and emotional depth, resonating with audiences across generations and faiths. For many, it was not just a film but an immersive experience brought to life on the big screen. The film's success also highlights the growing appetite for Indian devotional-driven content when told with technical finesse and universal appeal. Mahavatar Narsimha was praised for its animation quality, action choreography, and background score, which received widespread acclaim, making it a benchmark for what Indian animation studios can achieve when ambition meets innovation. It has been that kind of film. Beyond its box office numbers, Mahavatar Narsimha might have paved the way for Indian filmmakers to think in this way. For years, the Indian film industry has struggled to establish itself in the animation sector, with a sole focus on live-action cinema. This film's success has opened the door for large-scale animated features rooted in Indian stories, encouraging both filmmakers and investors to view the medium as commercially viable. Its impact is already being felt, with several animation films reportedly exploring divotional and fantasy-based projects. There will be at least seven films in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, with a few more already in production. The biggest animation project is likely to come in 2027, as maverick director SS Rajamouli has confirmed Baahubali: The Eternal War, which will be the continuation of the Baahubali franchise in animated format. The first part will hit the big screen in 2027. As Mahavatar Narsimha celebrates 100 days of dominance, it stands as more than just a blockbuster film — it's a milestone that could redefine the trajectory of Indian animation. By combining powerful storytelling with world-class visuals, it has shown that animated cinema can evoke the same awe, emotion, and patriotism as any live-action epic. The film's legacy will likely inspire a new generation of creators to dream bigger and take Indian animation to the global stage. Stay tuned...

Siddharth Anand Counters Sandeep Reddy Vanga's India's Biggest Superstar Tag For Prabhas With His Shah Rukh Khan Epic King

Mumbai, November 3 — The Indian cinema has produced many superstars over the years, but the debate about who is the biggest superstar among all took a fresh turn this week after director Siddharth Anand's subtle yet powerful statement celebrating Shah Rukh Khan. The Pathaan filmmaker appeared to counter director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's recent declaration that Prabhas is "India's biggest superstar," made during the announcement of his upcoming film Spirit. Vanga's remark instantly ignited a discussion among fans and industry watchers on social media. While Prabhas' supporters saw it as a moment of chest thumping, many considered the claim provocative. There is no doubt that Prabhas has emerged as one of the biggest crowd pullers in recent times and has the right to be called one of the biggest stars in the country, but stardom often transcends mere box office numbers. When stars go beyond being “just a superstar” they are called 👑 Happy Birthday INDIA’s KING pic.twitter.com/NZmChE3OIy— Siddharth Anand (@justSidAnand) November 2, 2025 Shah Rukh Khan's fans, in particular, expressed disappointment over Vanga's claim, arguing that SRK's unmatched global reach and cultural influence make him the truest embodiment of Indian superstardom. As the conversation gained traction on social media, Siddharth Anand — who has once again joined hands with SRK for the much-awaited action thriller King — appeared to weigh in on the matter. Posting a photo with Shah Rukh Khan on the actor's birthday, Anand wrote, "When stars go beyond being just a superstar, they are called KING." The statement, though nonprovocative, was seen as a confident reaffirmation of Khan's enduring dominance in the cinematic landscape. With King now officially announced through a powerful first-look glimpse, Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan seem poised to redefine the limits of Indian stardom once again — reminding audiences that some legends don't just hold titles, they become them. The movie will release in 2026. Stay tuned...

Alpha Release Pushed YRFs Female-Led Spy Thriller Locks April 17 2026

Yash Raj Films has officially shifted Alpha, the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe, to April 17, 2026. Headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the high-octane action drama was earlier expected in 2025, but the makers have opted for more time in post-production — mainly to refine heavy-duty VFX work and maintain the franchise’s signature scale. Alpha is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films in the spy universe. From large-scale action blocks to high-end digital effects, the scale seems massive, and the studio doesn’t want to rush it. Given the benchmark set by titles like Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan, the call makes strategic sense — polish over pressure. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari headline Alpha, the first female-led chapter in the YRF Spy Universe, marking a landmark shift for the franchise that has so far featured male protagonists like Pathaan, Tiger, and Kabir. The film is said to feature Bobby Deol in a pivotal antagonist role, adding serious star power to the showdown. Principal photography has already been completed, and the team is currently deep into post-production, focusing heavily on action design and visual scale to ensure the film delivers a sleek, stylish spy-action experience. With YRF reportedly determined to “leave no stone unturned” in achieving world-class execution, Alpha is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in the studio’s celebrated spy universe.
