Tere Ishk Mein Box Office: Becomes Dhanush's Highest-Grossing Film, Beating Raayan

Mumbai, December 23 - Tamil star Dhanush has achieved a major milestone as his Bollywood film Tere Ishk Mein has become his highest-grosser, surpassing the lifetime box office performance of Raayan (154 crores) at the time of writing this piece in 16 days.

Directed by Anand L Rai, Tere Ishk Mein commenced the third weekend with decent hold on Friday, scoring approximately 1.25 crores gross (1+ crore net) domestically. Heading to the 3rd Saturday, the film minted 153 crores worldwide, including 130.50 crores in India in 15 days.

After the solid opening week, Tere Ishk Mein encountered Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which has stolen all the limelight with a sensational box office performance. The Dhurandhar wave affected TIK badly as the latter witnessed a harsh 70% drop in the second week to score around 25+ crores net (30 crores gross).

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom for TIK as it still managed to weather the Dhurandhar storm, due to the strong word of mouth. While the film did witness a sharp drop in its second week due to the arrival and dominance of Dhurandhar, its early gains proved decisive and ultimately took the film past the 150 crore mark at the end of week two.

While the full potential of Tere Ishk Mein may have been cut short by Dhurandhar, it proved to be a remarkable success for Dhanush. TIK has delivered Dhanush his biggest success in the Hindi belt, expanding his box office footprint beyond his traditional strongholds in the South, particularly the Tamil market.
