Don 3 Cast: Ranveer Singh Steps Back From Farhan Akhtar's Gangster Film

Mumbai, December 23 - The massive success of director Aditya Dhar's spy action thriller Dhurandhar has taken everyone by surprise, and actor Ranveer Singh is reportedly in no mood to let the momentum fade away anytime soon. The film has grossed nearly 900 crores worldwide, heading towards 1000 crores.

Ranveer Singh was supposed to start director Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 post Dhurandhar; however, the success of the film has made the actor rethink his strategy. According to the report by Pinkvilla, Singh has opted out of the gangster action drama, as he doesn't want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films.

It is said that the Gully Boy star has decided to back out of Don 3, and is now looking to fast-track his Zombie movie with director Jai Mehta. Since the actor already has Dhurandhar 2 scheduled for March 19, 2026, release, he asked Jai Mehta to prepone the shoot of the zombie thriller, reportedly titled Pralay.

The Applause Entertainment-backed film, Pralay, tells a human story about how far a man will go to save his family in the most difficult circumstances. He is personally involved in aligning dates and schedules for Jai Mehta's film to ensure the film moves quickly and starts production sooner than originally planned.

Meanwhile, the makers have already reportedly started scouting for a new actor to step into the role of Don, with the intention of taking the film on floors by the end of January 2026. The film has Kriti Sanon as the female lead.
