AEW Collision Results, March 30, 2024

AEW Collision opens with Tony Schiavone introducing Nigel McGuinness and Ian Riccaboni on commentary. TNT Champion Adam Copeland enters the ring and declares it "Copeland Country." He contrasts himself with "The Patriarch" (likely referring to Chrisitan Cage) by calling himself a fighting champion who will face any challenger. Matt Cardona's music hits and he disrupts Copeland, entering the ring to challenge for the TNT Championship.

Adam Copeland vs Matt Cardona In An AEW TNT Championship Match

AEW Collision erupts in a thrilling match between Matt Cardona and TNT Champion Adam Copeland. The early moments see them trade blows before Cardona gains control. He stomps on Copeland and slams his head on the announce table.

Cardona maintains the upper hand with a reverse neckbreaker but only manages a two count. Both wrestlers exchange blows before a high-flying maneuver by Copeland gets a near fall. Cardona fights back with an Impaler but again falls short. The champion ends the match decisively with a spear to retain his TNT title.

WINNER: Adam Copeland

Chaos erupts after the match! Lights go out and Malakai Black appears, unleashing his signature black mist on Copeland. House of Black attacks the champion, then takes down Mark Briscoe who tries to make the save. Eddie Kingston enters the ring, forcing House of Black to retreat. A tense standoff ensues before the lights flicker again. When they return, House of Black has vanished. A battered Copeland stands tall with the babyfaces as the segment concludes.

AEW Collision goes backstage for an interview with FTR before their Tag Team Championship tournament match.

Then, Tony Schiavone introduces the AEW World Trios Champions, The Acclamed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) with "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn.

Gunn expresses anger over Jay White's chair shot and home invasion. He challenges White to a match next week to prove himself.

Caster cuts a promo, telling The Gunns to stay back during Gunn's match with White. He assures victory for "Daddy Ass."

Bowens calls White a coward and references the Bullet Club Gold involvement in the home invasion. He vows The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn will remain champions.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. The Infantry (Capt. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo)

Cash Wheeler and Shawn Dean start the match, trading holds before tags bring Carlie Bravo into the ring.

The match sees back-and-forth action with both teams isolating opponents and attempting signature moves.

FTR utilizes frequent tags and double-team tactics, but Bravo remains resilient.

In the end, FTR overpowers The Infantry with a devastating Shatter Machine finisher on Bravo to secure the victory and advance in the tournament.

WINNER: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

Adam Copeland, the reigning TNT Champion, grabs the mic for a promo after his grueling title defense. The House of Black's sudden attack and the saves by Mark Briscoe and Eddie Kingston set the stage for an upcoming trios match. Briscoe also addresses the upcoming ROH World Championship Match against Kingston. The tension is high as we cut to the entrances for the next singles match.

Singles Match: Kyle O’Reilly vs. JD Drake

The match begins with a back-and-forth exchange. Drake misses a Vader Bomb and a cannonball. O'Reilly capitalizes with kicks, a leg sweep, a running forearm strike and forces Drake to submit with an armbar.

WINNER: Kyle O’Reilly

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: “Absolute” Ricky Starks and Big Bill vs. Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin)

The match opens with Ricky Starks and Darius Martin. Starks throws punches at Darius, but Darius responds with an arm drag. They exchange moves before Darius gets a two count with a backslide.

Dante Martin tags in and Big Bill enters for the other team. Dante chops Bill, but Bill catches Dante and chops him in the corner. Bill attempts a double chokeslam and a lariat, but is taken down. Bill lands a pump kick after Starks trips Dante Martin from outside the ring.

Bill misses a splash in the corner and Dante takes him down. Ricky Starks and Darius Martin tag in. Darius hits punches on both Starks and Bill and nearly pins Starks. Darius throws Dante over Starks, but Starks hits him with a spear.

Darius hits a tornado DDT off his brother's chest to win the match.

WINNER: Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin)

Christopher Daniels cuts a promo backstage. He acknowledges his long tenure with AEW since its founding, but emphasizes that wins are the true measure of success. Daniels then throws down a challenge to Malakai Black for a match on the upcoming episode of Rampage.

The show transitions to the entrances for the next match, a singles bout.

Singles Match: Thunder Rosa vs. Lady Frost

Thunder Rosa wastes no time, taking an early lead against Lady Frost. Frost battles back with a hurricanrana, nearly pinning Rosa. The fight intensifies as Rosa lands a corner chop and a running splash. The action explodes outside the ring with Frost slamming Rosa onto the announce table. Back inside, they trade blows before Rosa connects with a running elbow strike for a two count. She then applies a submission hold in the center of the ring.

Frost fights valiantly to regain control, but Rosa maintains the upper hand with near falls and back elbows. Rosa's momentum continues with a running dropkick on the ropes, but again only gets a two count. Frost rallies with a kick to Rosa's head, nearly stealing the win. However, Rosa proves too much to handle. She delivers a backstabber followed by her signature Tijuana Bomb to secure the victory.

WINNER: Thunder Rosa

Following her victory over Lady Frost, Thunder Rosa learns she will face Mariah May next week to determine the next challenger for AEW Women's World Champion "Timeless" Toni Storm. Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Storm about the announcement. Storm initially feigns betrayal by May, but then surprises everyone with a kiss and declares May a genius.

A video package highlighting Will Ospreay's career hypes his upcoming clash with "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynamite.

The show transitions to the entrances for the main event, a trios match.

The opening moments see Katsuyori Shibata trade blows with Lance Archer before taking him down with a dropkick. Archer catches Shibata's offense, but Shibata counters with a sleeper hold. They lock in a tense stand-off after Archer escapes.

Dutch enters the fray, facing off with Claudio Castagnoli. Dutch gains the upper hand with a slam and shoulder tackle, but Claudio responds with a slam of his own. Danielson tags in and lands some offense before Dutch overpowers him. Vincent joins the match and slams Danielson into the barricade, giving The Righteous control.

Archer pummels Danielson in the corner, but Danielson fights back with kicks. However, Archer overpowers him and sends him into the corner. The Righteous and Archer utilize frequent tags, allowing Archer to dish out cheap shots on Danielson.

Dutch enters and gets caught in Danielson's Labelle Lock, but Archer breaks the hold. Dutch charges at Danielson, who dodges and allows Dutch to get a near fall with a Bossman Slam.

Dutch and Danielson battle on the turnbuckles, with Danielson headbutting Dutch. He tags in Claudio Castagnoli, who unloads on Archer with punches, uppercuts, and a running bulldog. Claudio attempts his signature giant swing, but The Righteous intervenes. Shibata takes them out, allowing Claudio and Shibata to hit double uppercuts on Archer.

Claudio executes the giant swing on Archer and transitions into a sharpshooter. Archer escapes and connects with a chokeslam, followed by Vincent's Swanton Bomb attempt for a two count.

Shibata tags in and delivers a running dropkick to Vincent before attempting a submission. Dutch breaks the hold, but Danielson takes him out with a Busaiku Knee. Claudio throws Archer out of the ring, and Shibata lands a PK on Vincent to secure the victory for the Blackpool Combat Club.
