The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has recognized Indian actor Sonu Sood's selfless work of helping thousands of migrant workers and students stranded in the different parts of the country and world during the lockdown period caused by the covid-19 pandemic. ## The actor has been conferred with the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which was presented at a virtual ceremony on Monday (September 28, 2020) evening. ## After receiving the honor, Sonu Sood has joined the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Liam Neeson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Antonio Banderas, and Nicole Kidman who were similarly honored by different UN bodies.## Expressing his gratitude to the UN body for the award, Sonu Sood said, "This is a rare honor. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to honor the legendary playback singer, the late S.P. Balasubramanyam, with India's highest civilian honour – the Bharat Ratna for his contribution to music and arts.## "As a tribute to the legendary singer for his outstanding contribution in the field of music and art, I request you to confer Bharat Ratna award upon him", wrote Reddy.## He reminded the Prime Minister that music stalwarts such as Lata Mangeshkar, Bhupen Hazarika, M.S. Subbulakshmi, Bismillah Khan, and Bhimsen Joshi were also conferred with the Bharat Ratna.## "This will be the highest recognition to his remarkable work which lasted for five decades and stays in our memory forever", he added.## Justifying his request, the CM said that the late singer was awarded many national and state awards and sung over 40,000 songs which is a record. ## "He won six national film awards for best male playback singer for his work, 25 AP state Nandi awards for his work in Telugu cinema, and numerous other state awards in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu", he said, among other awards.## Born in the Nellore district of southern Andhra Pradesh, Balasubramanyam passed away on Friday at the age of 74 in a Chennai hospital due to the covid-19.## Stay tuned...

We Will Try To Make England Series Happen On Indian Grounds: Sourav Ganguly

Despite the worsening coronavirus situation in India with the rapid rise in cases, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is hopeful that the England series to be played in India early next year as per the originally scheduled.## The England team is scheduled to travel to India for five Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, to be played between January and March. However, there have been some reports of the England series being played in the UAE where the ongoing season of the IPL is happening due to the covid-19 situation in India. ## However, BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly has reiterated the board's priority to host England early next year in India. ## "The priority is to make this (series against England) happen in India. We will try to make this happen on Indian grounds. The advantage in the UAE is they have three stadiums (Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai)", Sourav Ganguly said as stated by Cricbuzz. ## The intensify situation of covid-19 has already forced the Indian domestic season to postpone which should have been started by now. However, Ganguly said that the board continues to work on trying to 'make it happen as much as we can'.## "We are monitoring it (covid-19 situation). We want to have our domestic season. We have all the combinations, situations ready in our minds. We will try and make it happen as much as we can".## "Everything is fluid. It's been hard for the last six months to keep everything in order. You want your cricket to happen. You want lives to get back to normal, there are players involved. But you also want to have a close look at the Covid situation", he added.## Meanwhile, India is at the second number in terms of the coronavirus cases in the world, only behind the USA. No Aspect In Sushant Singh Rajput's Death Case Has Been Ruled Out As Of Date: CBI

After Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh expressed his displeasure over the speed at which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was carrying out its investigation, the CBI has lent clarification on the same and issued a statement regarding the high profile death case.## As per the statement, the CBI hasn't ruled out any of the possibilities as of the date as all the aspects of this death case being looked at closely with the investigation is continuing. ## "The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting a professional investigation related to the death of #SushantSinghRajput in which all aspects are being looked at and no aspect has been ruled out as of date. The investigation is continuing", said CBI officials as stated by ANI. ## Earlier, Sushant's friend, Ankit also expressed his disappointment on Sushant's viscera report getting delayed. Speaking to Times Now, Ankit said that it is a clear case of murder as Sushant can't suicide. ## "Why is there a delay in getting the viscera report? I have been saying since the first day that this is a case of murder and not suicide, bhaiya cannot do anything like this.
