The United Nations Development Programme Honored Sonu Sood With SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has recognized Indian actor Sonu Sood's selfless work of helping thousands of migrant workers and students stranded in the different parts of the country and world during the lockdown period caused by the covid-19 pandemic.
The actor has been conferred with the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which was presented at a virtual ceremony on Monday (September 28, 2020) evening.
After receiving the honor, Sonu Sood has joined the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Liam Neeson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Antonio Banderas, and Nicole Kidman who were similarly honored by different UN bodies.
Expressing his gratitude to the UN body for the award, Sonu Sood said, "This is a rare honor. UN recognition is very special. I have done whatever little I could do, in my own humble way, for my fellow countrymen without any expectations".
"However, to be recognized and awarded feels good. I fully support the UNDP in its endeavors to achieve the SDGs by 2030. Planet Earth and mankind will greatly benefit from the implementation of these goals".
The actor has gone all out to help the people who have suffered the most because of the covid-19 pandemic and is continuing good work.
