Chakra Review: Vishal's Crime Thriller Gets Positive Response From The Audiences

One of the long-awaited Tamil movies, Chakra hit theaters on February 19 on around 1500 screens worldwide. Starring Vishal, the film was initially supposed to have its theatrical release on 1 May 2020 coinciding with May Day but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Even after the lockdown lifted and theaters reopened, Chakra had to face many challenges before it finally saw a release. ## Based on cybercrimes and e-commerce scams, the story of the film revolves around the robbery by a gang of hackers and cybercriminals on the Independence Day of India. The film is a spinoff to Vishal's 2018 action thriller film Irumbu Thirai. Directed by MS Anandan and produced by Vishal under his banner Vishal Film Factory, the movie also stars Shraddha Srinath, Regina Cassandra, Robo Shankar, Manobala, and Srushti Dange in key roles. ## Chakra also released in the dubbed version of Hindi as Chakra Ka Rakshak by B4U Motion Pictures along with dubbed versions of Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is eyeing a good run at the box office and will be looking to cash the opportunity before other biggies arrive in cinemas. As of now, Chakra is getting mixed reviews from moviegoers. ## Check out the public reaction on Chakra - ## #Chakra : A Cyber Crime Thriller like #IrumbuThirai How data security lapses are exploited by smart criminals.. @VishalKOfficial excels in action and as investigator.. @ShraddhaSrinath is no-nonsense police officer and she has done well..— Ramesh Bala (@rameshlaus) February 19, 2021 ## #Chakra: @ReginaCassandra is the surprise package.. Drishyam 2 Review: Check Out What Viewers Have To Say About Mohanlal Starrer

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's suspense thriller film, Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazone Prime Video on February 19. Directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, Drishyam 2 is a sequel to the 2013 film, Drishyam which starred Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sarath, Siddique, and Kalabhavan Shajon in key roles. ## The sequel of Drishyam was supposed to release in theaters in January 2021, however, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the makers decided to skip its theatrical release to make it available directly on Amazon Prime Video for the worldwide audience. The OTT release of Drishyam 2 invited sheer criticism among the Kerala Film Industry as the Film Chamber expressed its disappointment over this movie to skip theaters. ## The story of Drishyam 2 takes place six years after the events of Drishyam that follows the struggle of Georgekutty and his family, who come under suspicion when Varun Prabhakar, the son of the Inspector-general of police (IG), gets killed by the family after an attempt to physically harass Georgekutty's daughter. ## Check out what viewers/public have to say about this film -## #Drishyam2 [4/5]: To elaborate more about Actor @Mohanlal 's performance, he has not acted in the movie.. He has jus lived the character of #GeorgeKutty The brilliance of the screenplay is that so many scenes, that appear so random in the 1st half all tally nicely in 2nd half— Ramesh Bala (@rameshlaus) February 20, 2021 ## #Drishyam2 in theatres would have been a mega blockbuster. Even a bigger hit than the first part IMO. Kinda bummed that you miss out on the great response from the audience. Nevertheless, it’s unmissable even though it has released directly on OTT. #Drishyam2OnPrime— Haricharan Pudipeddi (@pudiharicharan) February 19, 2021 ## #Drishyam2 @PrimeVideoIN -Fantastic!A sequel as good as #Drishyam. #JeethuJoseph nailed it smart writing & taut thrilling moments. @Mohanlal as #Georgekutty is extraordinary along with #Meena & #MuraliGopy.Story opens 6 years after events of #D1 & police hasn’t closed the case... pic.twitter.com/ciAYV0J4LU— Sreedhar Pillai (@sri50) February 18, 2021 ## #Drishyam2: Mohanlal as Georgekutty is a character one just cannot get enough of. With a majority of stares and restrained dialogue delivery, the veteran simply steals the show once again. The fantastic final 45 minute stretch is a treat for sure, good load of thrills!— Siddarth Srinivas (@sidhuwrites) February 19, 2021 ## #Drishyam2: Brilliant! Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph together deliver one of the best sequels ever made in Indian cinema, a film that answers all your questions in style. Doesn't have too many wow moments like the first, but is an intelligently written film that does surprise. Win!— Siddarth Srinivas (@sidhuwrites) February 19, 2021 ## In awe of what #JeethuJoseph has managed to pull off with #Dhrishyam2 Total savage moment from #Georgekutty There might be a few lose ends, but this one is bloody brilliant 👏— S Abishek Raaja (@cinemapayyan) February 19, 2021 ## Quite impressed by #Drishyam2. One of those rare sequels that’s not just made to cash in on the success of the first part. The writing is absolutely top class and you can’t ask for a better development of #Georgekutty’s character. One of the best sequels. #Drishyam2OnPrime— Haricharan Pudipeddi (@pudiharicharan) February 18, 2021 ## For more and the latest news about Mollywood, stay tuned to us.

Phones Are Never Going To Give Collective Experience Which Theater Provides: Filmmaker Nitya Mehra

Filmmaker Nitya Mehra made her debut as a director with the 2016 Bollywood feature film 'Baar Baar Dekho', starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif. Despite the decent buzz, the film fared below expectations at the box office. Mehra then focussed on the OTT space and struck gold with the popular show Made In Heaven. She also directed one of the stories of the anthology film Unpaused which premiered on Amazon Prime Video last year. ## Mehra, who hopes to return to the big screen next year, is unmoved by the rise of OTT platforms and said that digital platforms should be accepted as a natural progression. She also feels that theaters are not going anywhere as people need a collective experience which mobile phones can't provide .## "When television came, people on the radio were worried. As we evolve, there will always be new things that come out and they may give a run for the money as they say. OTT platforms have given theatres a run for the money but I think each one of these formats finds its own space. There are enough human beings on this planet to consume it all", Mehra tells according to TOI. ## "The audience is becoming accustomed to viewing things on their phones, tablets, and laptops, but I do feel that theatres will survive. Human beings by nature require a collective experience. I am personally dying to go to the theatre because of the feeling of going to the theatre and consuming a piece of entertainment with other people who you perhaps don't know, and yet (there is) the collective laughter and tears, which is an experience in itself".## "Your phones are never going to give you that. I do feel that human nature will prevail because at the end of the day we all need collective experience", she added.## Stay tuned...

Actors Have A Moral Duty Towards Movie Theatres Which Elevated Them To Their Present Level: Kerala Film Chamber

The Kerala Film Chamber has continued to express disappointment over the direct OTT release of the films. With just a few days left for the OTT release of the most awaited movie, 'Drishyam-2', the Kerala Film Chamber has called this move disastrous for the film theatre owners.## Expressing disappointment, the Film Chamber President Vijayakumar told the media that there is a moral responsibility for actors towards theatres that have actually elevated all of them to the level they are at the moment. ## "It's the movie theatres which elevated all of them to their present level and hence it's not just Mohanlal alone, all the stars have a moral responsibility as all of them gained everything from movie theatres", said Vijayakumar.## Vijayakumar added that the chamber is not against anyone particular 'actor' but speaking for the movie theatres, as that in itself an industry which is losing ground due to various reasons and all those attached to these movie theatres is facing tough times. "This film (Drishyam 2) was registered as a theatre release," reminded Vijayakumar.## Also Read - Mohanlal Hints Theatrical Release of Drishyam 2 After OTT Premiere ## Stay tuned...

Vijay Sethupathi Clears Why He Withdrew From Aamir Khan's Lal Singh Chaddha

Vijay Sethupathi was all set to headline in Bollywood with Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chaddha which is scheduled to release on Christmas this year. However, the southern star is now no longer part of the project, and his Bollywood debut gets longer. ## It was reported that Aamir Khan offered Sethupathi an important role in his upcoming film after seeing his meritorious performances in his movies which have made a crazy fan following of him. However, the reports came as a shocker for his fans that he is not a part of Lal Singh Chaddha. It was reported that Aamir Khan had asked him to reduce weight according to the character's demand, and Vijay failed to do so, hence he was asked to back out from the movie. ## While the reason for Sethupathi backing out from the project wasn't made official until the actor himself cleared what exactly went behind the scene. Recently, in an interview, Vijay cleared the air around his relationship with Aamir Khan and why he withdrew from Lal Singh Chaddha. ## Started off by praising Khan, Sethupathi said that he is the sweetest and kindest gentleman. He further said that Aamir Khan himself flew down to a village where Vijay was shooting and narrated to him the script of LSC and offered him to do it. Vijay, who is a big admirer of Khan agreed to the movie.## However, this entire scene happened before the covid-19 pandemic arrived, and once the pandemic hit India, it halted the complete schedule of the film industry including the movies' release and shooting. Since dates became messed up, Sethupathi couldn't give suitable dates for LSC as he was busy with 5 of his projects. Hence it was all the case of a tight schedule and not of some issues with Sethupathi's weight as claimed by several sources.## "I am very comfortable with my body and my mind. Whichever project I go into, they go with me", said Sethupathi when asked about the rumor of his departure from LSC. ## Talking about Lal Singh Chaddha, it is the official Hindi remake of the classic "Forrest Gump" which starred Tom Hanks. LSC is being directed by Advait Chandan and it also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the female lead. Produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Radhika Chaudhari under the banners of Aamir Khan Productions, and Viacom18 Studios, the movie was earlier scheduled to release on 25 December 2020 before it was pushed to December 24, 2021, due to the pandemic. ## Stay tuned...
