Vijayendra Prasad, who had written the story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and won the Filmfare Award for Best Story, has confirmed that he is trying to crack Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 for Salman Khan. It is the first official confirmation from the writer himself, and it surely has got the fans excited. ## In his recent conversation with a leading entertainment portal, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad said that he told the idea of a sequel to Salman Khan and he is also excited about it. However, he said that he is looking for a proper team to carry the idea of the sequel and hope it will work out soon. ## Bajrangi Bhaijaan, directed by Kabir Khan, tells the story of Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, an ardent devotee of Hindu deity Hanuman, who embarks on a journey to take a mute six-year-old Pakistani Muslim girl Shahida, separated in India from her parents, back to her hometown in Pakistan. It won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 63rd National Film Awards. ## The movie stars Salman Khan along with Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and debutante Harshaali Malhotra in the lead roles. The US Theater Association Slams Disney For Simulatanous Digital Release Of Marvel's Tentpole Movie - Black Widow

Los Angeles, July 19, 2021: The US cinema association, the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO), has slammed Walt Disney Co. for simultaneous Disney+ and theatrical release of Marvel Studios' Black Widow, saying the decision has undercut the tentpole's box office potential and promoted piracy. ## After taking a record pandemic era opening, the Scarlett Johansson led superhero movie falls flat in the second weekend and recorded the decline of 67 percent, one of the biggest drops ever for a Marvel title, and the worst among the Marvel films released by Disney. The record decline didn't go well with theaters owners who come out hard on Disney for their two-way release decision. ## "Despite assertions that this pandemic-era improvised release strategy was a success for Disney and the simultaneous release model, it demonstrates that an exclusive theatrical release means more revenue for all stakeholders in every cycle of the movie's life", NATO said in a statement (via THR). ## In the second weekend (16-18 July), Black Widow recorded $26.3 million domestic gross and fell to no. 2, behind Warner Bros.' Space Jam: A New Legacy, which topped the chart with a better-than-expected domestic debut of $31.7. Space Jam, however, is also the simultaneous theaters and HBO Max release, coming in Warner Bros.' release plan of its 2021 movies. ## NATO thinks the standalone superhero offering from Marvel should have debuted in the $92 million to $100 million range domestically. The trade organization points to cannibalization from Disney+ and piracy as the prime culprits for Black Widow's performance.## "One can assume the family-oriented Disney+ household is larger. How much? How much password sharing is there among Disney+ subscribers? Combined with the lost theatrical revenue and forgone traditional PVOD revenue, the answer to these questions will show that simultaneous release costs Disney money in revenue per viewer over the life of the film", NATO says.## "Piracy no doubt further affected Black Widow's performance and will affect its future performance in international markets where it has yet to open", the release continued. "Pristine digital copies became available within minutes of release on Disney+. Black Widow was the most torrented movie for the week ending July 12. "It is also available on myriad illegal streaming sites all over the Internet". ## Meanwhile, Disney is all set to bring Black Widow directly on its streaming platform in India, skipping theatrical debut. The India Box Office Sees A Positive Sign As Salman Khan Starrer Radhe Released On Limited Screens

Mumbai, July 17, 2021: Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was put on hold for more than a year to give it a theatrical release. It was finally set to release in theaters on May 13, but the prevailing second wave of the covid-19 pandemic forced makers to change their plans. However, this time the makers were not in a mood to delay the release anymore, and hence, they opt for simultaneous OTT release via pay-per-view model and theaters on May 13. ## As theaters were closed in India when Radhe release, the movie automatic became a direct-to-digital release, leaving theatrical business gasping. It was in June when the Maharasthra government allowed theaters to reopen in areas where the covid-19 situation was under control. Upon the reopening of cinemas, Radhe released on the big screens, even though only limited screens were available. While the box office collection was nowhere close to the pre-covid era, it was still increasing to see the audiences stepping out from their houses to watch the movie. ## Recently, the Rajasthan and Utter Pradesh governments also permitted the reopening of cinemas with 50% capacity. Before started screening in Rajasthan on July 13, Radhe had collected around Rs. 1.80 lakh across theaters. From Tuesday onwards, Radhe witness a sharp growth in the collection. ## The movie premiered on iconic single-screen theaters, Raj Mandir, and collected approx 25k on Tuesday, 25.3k on Wednesday, 31.5k on Thursday, and around 36k on Friday. On the other hand, Radhe reportadly released at 5 properties in UP on Friday and collected around 60k from 10 shows. Including Rajasthan and UP's collection, Radhe has so far earned approx. 3.30 lakh. ## The box office collection of Radhe in India should be taken positively considering the fact that the movie is almost two months old and received negative reviews from every corner of the country. It shows that the audience is willing to go out to watch movies in theaters if they get a chance. Mumbai, July 17, 2021: Filmmaker Madhu Mantena is planning to take the Indian cinema to the next level, and his vision can't get a better and bigger start then kicking off with Indian mythological tales. The filmmaker on Thursday (July 15) announced that he is working on India's first cinematic universe based on Indian history and Mythology. ## Taking to his Instagram handle, Mantena shared a tinted red abstract photo that has a god and demon in it. The photo has 'Stories of Indian mythology' and 'Mythoverse' written on it. While sharing the photo he wrote, "Working on India's first cinematic universe based on Indian history and Mythology .. Our first film begins in Treta Yuga. 1.8 billion years have passed in this Kalpa so far..."## Meanwhile, Mantena recently opened up about his plans to make two epics, 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata'. While he is well aware that other filmmakers are also working on Indian epics, Mantena has promised a unique, world-class experience for all the viewers with regards to 'Ramayana', 'Mahabharata' and the Mytho-verse. "We are making it for the global audience. We want to tell these stories to audiences all across because the basic emotions are the same for everyone", he shared according to DNA. ## Currently, Mantena is working on Ramayana, for which, the casting will be announced around Diwali this year. Speaking about it, the filmmaker had told Pinkvilla, "The ambition that we have for Ramayana is larger than what our country has seen. The responsibility to tell this story is so larger that it requires a lot of work. We have taken it on ourselves to make it as well as anything else in the world".## "We are trying to follow the process that James Cameron did for Avatar. The ambition is so larger that we are going into the minute details of everything. We need to show the world what Ramayana is and it needs to portray all the magic that Valmiki wrote. This isn't a project, it's a purpose, a purpose to tell Ramayana in all its glory to the world", he added. ## It is said that over 200 artists from across the globe are working on various aspects of the film for the last 2 years. The pre-production team includes some Oscar-Winning Artists too. The film has already been mounted so high on a scale that we can't wait to experience this on the biggest possible screens.## Other than Ramayana, Madhu is also working on 'Mahabharata', which will be told from Draupadi's point of view.
