Mumbai, September 6, 2021: Bollywood filmmakers continue to make Hindi remakes of South Indian films. Keeping the trend going, producers, Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani recently announced the Hindi remake of Tamil hit, Thadam. The movie went through casting changes as Sidharth Malhotra opted out of the project and Aditya Roy Kapur stepped in as the lead. ## While Sidharth Malhotra was out of the project, Mrunal Thakur remained attached to this project from the very beggning. The makers have now reconfirmed her appearance as the female lead in the movie. Mrunal will play a fiery cop in the actioner that revolves around two lookalikes who are the primary suspects in a murder case. ## "When I heard the story, I instantly knew that I needed to be a part of this film. My character is intriguing, and playing a cop has been on my checklist. It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani under their respective production banners T-Series and Cine 1 Studios. Marvel Studios Locks Diwali 2021 Release Date For 'Eternals' In India

Mumbai, September 6, 2021: Marvel Studio is once again paving the way for a strong box office recovery worldwide amid the covid-19 pandemic. After "Black Widow", the latest Marvel release, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings" is doing strong business worldwide including India. On its opening weekend, "Shang-Chi" has earned approx Rs. 10.50 crore in India, becoming the first choice for cinemagoers. ## Now, Marvel Studios announced the release date of its next superhero movie, Eternals. The rural entertainer, Viruman, will be produced by Karthi's brother Suriya and Jyotika under their banner 2D Entertainment.## Acclaimed director Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar, has been paired opposite Karthi in "Viruman". Mumbai, September 5, 2021: Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" succeed box office expectations in a big way and has made a memorable debut in the superhero universe. A movie, which was called an "experimental" release in theaters by Disney CEO, has debuted with a mighty $75 million in the opening weekend (Fri-Sun) at the domestic (North America) box office. ## "Shang-Chi" was anticipated a debut of between $45 million to $50 million in the opening weekend, but now, it is on course for $84 million four-day Labor Day weekend. With a $75 million 3-day weekend debut, "Shang-Chi" takes the second-biggest domestic opening, falling just behind "Black Widow's" $80.3 million opening. Universal Pictures' "F9" is at number 3 with a $70 million opening. ## Overseas, "Shang-Chi" earned another $56 million, making it a $130 million worldwide debut. The movie opened in key international markets such as France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and India. In India, where Marvel has a huge fanbase, "Shang-Chi" is turning out to be the first choice for moviegoers. The 40-year old actor, who always looked fit and fine, died of a heart attack on September 2, Thursday. ## Sidharth was at the peak of his career from the last couple of years. The "Broken But Beautiful 3" actor's sudden death has not only left his family in tears but also shaken the television actors, who didn't even know the late actor personally. They are saying that it's been a wake-up call for them as they confront the ghost of life's unpredictability. ## Actor Sharad Malhotra, who played the lead in the show "Naagin 5" said to IANS, "I was at work at that time and there was a message that had come on my friends' WhatsApp group about his death. For a minute, I could not understand what had happened. The first thing that came to my mind was that it must have been a rumor, but then my phone started ringing constantly and the news turned out to be true. Sidharth's passing has left me, like most of us, numb and shocked, although I did not know him personally". ## Returning from Sidharth's funeral on Friday, Aly Goni said, "I can't still believe that such a happy and hearty person is no more among us. He was so full of life. I have known him socially and he always came across as a warm person. I can't even imagine the pain his family and Shehnaaz are going through". ## Ronit Roy, too, did not know Sidharth that well, but the actor's death did not leave him unaffected. "I am really heartbroken. He had a great career ahead of him. The unconditional love that his fans showered upon him in the last few years was truly phenomenal. Mumbai, September 5, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who will be seen on the big screen in the upcoming movie Thalaivi, has praised multiplex chains for allowing the movie to screen in their theaters. The actress had earlier urged the multiplex chains to help each other during these tough times after multiplex owners refused to screen the movie as it has only two week theatrical window for the Hindi version. ## While multiplex chains won't screen Thalaivi's Hindi version, they agreed to screen Tamil and Telugu versions as they have four week theatrical window before going to Amazon Prime Video. Calling it a ray of hope, Kangana took to Twitter and said that she was moved by the decision and penned a long note. ## She wrote: "PVR's decision to screen the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film is a ray of hope for Team Thalaivii as well as all those cinegoers who are waiting to rush back to their favourite multiplex chain for a cinematic experience. I am personally moved by the kind words used for me and Team Thalaivii". ## The actress hopes that the Hindi version of the film also gets to see the light of day. "And I hope with talks, and a passion for the theatrical experience, we can come together to find a solution so that the Hindi version can also find love and appreciation on the big screen @pvrcinemas_official - Lots of Love, Kangana".## A statement on behalf of Kamal Gianchandani, CEO, PVR Pictures Ltd, Chief of Strategy, PVR Limited read, "We are thankful to 'Thalaivii' team for offering a 4 week theatrical window for its Tamil and Telugu language versions. We are delighted to be able to play 'Thalaivii' in Tamil and Telugu language at our cinemas, however, we are disappointed that for the Hindi language version, 'Thalaivii' team has decided to offer only a 2 week window". ## "We would like to appeal to Ms Kangana Ranaut, Mr Vishnu Induri & Mr. Shailesh Singh to keep a uniform window of 4 weeks across all language versions and therefore allow all cinemas across the country to showcase 'Thalaivii' to audiences, on the big screen. Considering the severe impact of the ongoing pandemic on our business, PVR cinemas has already agreed to reduce the 8 week theatrical window to 4 weeks, for all films releasing in the near future". ## "This is a temporary step by PVR cinemas to assist our producer partners in realizing full commercial potential of their films, while keeping the sanctity of theatrical experience, intact", the statement conclude. ## Thalaivii is a biopic based on the life of late Jayalalithaa, actress and former Tamil Nadu chief minister. It is directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under the banners of Vibri Media, and Karma Media And Entertainment. Mumbai, September 3, 2021: Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi, which is scheduled to release in theaters on September 10, has found itself in hot water. Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri has decided to release the Hindi version of the film on Netflix only after two weeks of its theatrical release, which is not going well with theater owners. ## Disappointed with the makers' decision, the national multiplex chains have decided not to release the movie on multiplexes and have jointly chosen to insist on a minimum exclusive theatrical window of four weeks until normalcy returns. ## A top officer of a leading multiplex chain was quoted as saying, "Two weeks is simply not acceptable to us. If we make a concession in the case of one film (in this case, Thalaivii), another producer would ask for a similar or a new concession. This will never stop. We recently finalized our agreement with Yash Raj Films. That agreement also stipulates an exclusive cinema window of four weeks. After that, we will revert to the pre-pandemic 8-week theatrical window".## To this, Kangana took to her Instagram handle and shared a message for the multiplex owners, requesting them to help each other during the testing times. She wrote, "No films are choosing theatres, very few and very brave like my producers @vishnuinduri @shaaileshrsingh are compromising on huge profits and letting go of exclusive streaming options only for the love of cinema". ## "In these times we must support each other and not bully or arm-twist; it's our fundamental right to recover the cost of our film which we did, we may have two weeks window for Hindi version but for South, we have four weeks window yet multiplexes ganging up on us and stopping our release there as well…This is unfair and cruel in these testing times when major territories like Maharashtra are also shut…Please let's help each other in order to save theatres", she added. ## Thalaivi will also release in Tamil and Telugu. The south versions of Jayalalitha's biopic will stream on Amazon Prime Video after four weeks. The movie, directed by A. L.
