Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, the makers announced the shoot wrap on Thursday (Jan 27) and also shared the first look of the lead pair.## Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram and shared a beautiful not and first look of the film. "Naam mein kya rakha hai, abhi toh wrap hua hai!!!" He continued, "Each day of filming this beautiful story has been memorable for me. Going to miss you guys terribly and all the madness involved. The makers of this sports drama held a pre-release event on Jan. 26, which was attended by Ram Charan as chief guest. ## Ram Charan spoke highly about the film and Keerthy Suresh at the event. He stated that "Good Luck Sakhi" is not just a normal sports drama film but a proper big-ticket movie that is being made by the national award winners.## The "Rangasthalam" actor heaped praise on Keerthy Suresh, who won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Mahanati (2018). Mumbai, January 27 - Goldmines Telefilms, headed by Manish Shah, has unveiled the Hindi teaser of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's 2017 blockbuster "Mersal". However, as speculated earlier, the Hindi dubbed version of the film won't be released in theaters. ## Directed by Atlee, "Mersal" is an action thriller film that stars Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role alongside S. J. Surya, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Hareesh Peradi, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in key roles. It is produced by Thenandal Studio Limited in their 100th production. ## Goldmines Telefilms has the Hindi dubbing rights and on Thursday (January 27), the studio unveiled the teaser and announced that it will air on the Dhinchaak tv channel soon. Mumbai, January 27 - Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer "Pushpa - The Rise" is showing historical trends at the Hindi box office. Having already become a trendsetter film among the masses, this Sukumar directorial has clearly refused to die down at the box office despite the early OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video. ## There weren't many films in the past that touched Rs. 1 crore single day mark in their 6th week, however, "Pushpa" is proving to be an exception on that front. On the Republic Day holiday, the action thriller witnessed a major jump of nearly 200% at the Hindi box office, by generating approx Rs. 1.55 crores on its 41st day, which is remarkable for every type of film, let alone the dubbed version. ## In the 6th week so far, "Pushpa - The Rise" for the Hindi version has earned approx Rs. 5.50 crores as full week likely to touch Rs. 6 crores. The film has reached approx Rs. 97 crores after 41 days at the box office. The jump in collection of the Hindi version has kept the movie's hope alive for reaching Rs. 100 crores net, which will be nothing short of historic achievement for a dubbed version.## The 100 crores mark now looks inevitable, especially after knowing the fact that the government of Delhi has permitted theaters to open with 50% capacity. Chennai, January 27 - Tamil superstar Suriya received wide acknowledgment for his role in "Soorarai Pottru", released directly on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was directed by Sudha Kongara, who will now reunite with the actor for another film. ## In a recent interview with Variety, Suriya confirmed that he would be teaming up with Sudha for one more film. It will, however, go on floors sometime next year after Suriya completes his currently in the pipeline projects. ## For now, the actor is gearing up for the first theatrical release in more than two years in the form of "Etharkkum Thunindhavan". It was supposed to release on February 4 but postponed due to the covid-19 third wave and will now release in the second half of the same month. ## Apart from the release of "ET", the next film that will commence shooting is with Bala, who previously directed him in "Nandha" (2001) and "Pithamagan" (2003). Mumbai, January 27 - Warner Bros.' New Line has greenlit a sequel to the 2021 martial arts fantasy film, "Mortal Combat". Based on the blockbuster video game franchise, "Mortal Combat" is Warner Bros.'s biggest hit to date on HBO Max. It was also simultaneously released in theaters and grossed approx $84 million worldwide. ## The studio has hired "Fantastic Four" and "Moon Knight" writer Jeremy Slater to write "Mortal Combat 2", according to Deadline. Slater serves as head writer on the Marvel/Disney+ superhero series Moon Knight, which stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and Gaspard Ulliel. It is slated to premiere on March 30, 2022. ## Since the release of "Mortal Combat" last year, the fans of this video game adaptation have patiently been waiting for its sequel. Since there was not much competition at the time of the "Mortal Combat" release, it easily opened to the No. 1 position at the box office with $23.3 million. ## However, this Simon McQuoid-directed got massive attention of HBO Max, becoming the biggest hit for the studio on HBO Max since the platform launched with 3.8 million views in the opening weekend. The "Bala" actress, however, has the jam-packed year of 2022 with as many as six releases, if all goes per plan. ## To begin with, Bhumi is gearing up for the release of the social dramedy "Badhaai Do". This Harshavardhan Kulkarni-directed serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film "Badhaai Ho". Co-starring Rajkummar Rao, "Badhaai Do" is about a couple in a lavender marriage. Produced by Junglee Pictures, the movie is slated for February 11 release in theaters. ## Apart from "Badhaai Do", Bhumi has five more films lined up to release this year. She has a romantic comedy "Govinda Naam Mera", co-starring Vicky Kaushal, and Kiara Advani, then she has "Raksha Bandhan", which reunites her with Akshay Kumar after their blockbuster "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha". This resulted in, the postponement of the release indefinitely. ## "Radhe Shyam" has been postponed multiple times due to the obvious reason, the pandemic. While the pandemic is already taking a toll on the makers and fans waiting for this film, the rumors around it also not helping either. Mumbai, January 26 - As Batman fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Robert Pattinson-fronted "The Batman" movie, it has been revealed that this DC superhero movie is going to be the longest film in the history of the Batman franchise. ## As revealed earlier, the version of "The Batman" fans will be seeing in theaters is 2 hours 55 minutes long, making it the second-longest superhero movie ever (excluding Zack Snyder cut of Justice League). However, what fans don't know is the original run time of this Warner Bros. movie was much higher than the final nearly 3 hours cut. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter (via IGN), the early test screenings of The Batman clocked in at a whopping four hours long, which would have made it the longest superhero movie, excluding "Justice League" Snyder Cut, which was released on HBO Max with a runtime of 4 hours 2 minutes. ## Meanwhile, even with nearly 3 hours of theatrical run time, "The Batman", directed by Matt Reeves, is still the longest Batman movie ever made, outpacing Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Tim Burton's Batman, and Batman Returns, and Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever.## The upcoming Batman movie, due on March 4, is touted to be the finest in the franchise. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has directed Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhiller's upcoming movie "Prithviraj", has been honored with the Padma Shri award, the fourth-highest civilian award of the country for his service in the field of art.## Dr. Dwivedi is humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award and dedicated it the the Republic of India. "I'm deeply humbled to have been bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri award. I have been fortunate enough to creatively collaborate with some of the best minds of the Hindi film and television industry", the filmmaker said in a statement. ## Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is best known for directing the historical tv show "Chanakya" in the 90s. His next directorial is the feature film "Prithviraj", which tells the story of valour of the fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay portrays the title role while the movie is produced by Yash Raj Film. ## "I have always been someone who has tried to tell a story that is immersed in our country's history and culture and I dedicate this award to my country. This recognition will drive me to tell stories that celebrate my motherland in its full glory like my next 'Prithviraj' in which we will honor the valour of one of the bravest warriors that India has ever seen", he added.## "Prithviraj" was supposed to release on January 21 this year but has been postponed amid the 3rd covid-19 wave. Suriya's 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' New Release Date Revealed

Chennai, January 26 - Suriya's first big-screen release after two back-to-back direct OTT premieres, "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" has been delayed due to the 3rd covid-19 wave. The action-thriller, written & directed by Pandiraj, was supposed to release on February 4 this year. ## According to Only Kollywood, Sun Pictures has pushed the film by a couple of weeks and the movie will now release on either February 17th or 18th. Even though the 3rd covid wave isn't as serious as the 2nd wave, the state government has imposed a weekend curfew to curb the spread of the virus. It was a wise move to push the release of ET by two weeks as makers are hopeful that the situation will be normal by then. ## "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" is Suriya's 40th film. It marked Suriya's 3rd collaboration with Sun Pictures after Ayan (2009) and Singam (2010) while Pandiraj earlier worked with Suriya, whose production company 2D Entertainment had backed his projects "Pasanga 2", which had the latter playing a supporting character and Karthi's "Kadaikutty Singam".## Suriya's 1st film as a lead hero with Pandiraj, "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" has a huge cast in place including Priyanka Arul Mohan, who plays the female lead alongside Sathyaraj, Vinay, and others. The film's music is composed by D. Imman, whilst cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu.## Meanwhile, Suriya also has a film with director Vetrimaaran titled "Vaadivaasal". This Kalaippuli S. Hyderabad, January 26 - Telugu star Nani hits the bull's eye with his big-screen comeback movie "Shyam Singha Roy". The actor is now gearing to begin the shoot of his next film titled "Darara". Set in Telangana will be directed by debutante Srikanth Odela. ## Meanwhile, the makers of the film are prepping a grand village set to shoot a few crucial scenes. It is reported that this huge village set will cost producers a staggering sum of Rs. 12 crores. Avinash Kolla, the art director who worked for "Shyam Singha Roy" will be overseeing the work for the "Dasara" sets as well.## The makers are trying to bring in the village ambiance which would resemble the Singareni coal mines in the Godavarikhani area of Telangana.## "Dasara" is said to be a period action drama film in which Nani plays a rural guy. Keerthy Suresh is the female lead and it reunites her with Nani for the first time after Nenu Local (2017). The makers had released the first glimpse of on Dussehra last year which showed the rustic getups of Nani and Keerthy Suresh and it looked very promising. ## Sudhakar Cherukuri is producing the film under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas.
