The list includes films released between January 1, 2025 and July 1, 2025, that have an average IMDb user rating of 6 or higher with at least 10,000 votes. ## Determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide, all the top 10 popular films had a theatrical release. Of the top 10 titles, six are Bollywood films, followed by three Tamil films, and one Malayalam movie. ## 1. Chhaava (Hindi) - Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, the historical action drama features Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna in the leading roles. The film is now inching close to the ₹50 crore mark in international markets alone. ## Directed by Amar Hundal, the film collected approximately ₹9 crore during its second weekend, reflecting a solid hold with just a 40% drop from its first frame. Notably, this total excludes Pakistan, where the film had grossed ₹7 crore in its first week but saw no collections over the weekend due to cinema closures for Muharram. ## With a 10-day overseas gross of ₹42.60 crore (~$5 million), Sardaar Ji 3 now stands as the highest-grossing Punjabi film of 2025, surpassing "Saunkan Saunkanay 2", which had earned around an estimated ₹35 crore globally after its release on May 30th. ## Top Performing Territories ## North America is the biggest market for the film with approximately ₹18.75 crores ($2.2 million), followed by Pakistan with 7 crores ($830K), and the United Kingdom with ₹6.25 crores ($725K). Hyderabad, July 8 - Telugu heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda's much-awaited action thriller Kingdom, directed by "Jersey" fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, has been confirmed to hit the big screens on July 31st, after getting postponed on multiple occasions. ## The release date announcement of "Kingdom" has ended the wait for the fans, but the announcement comes with a twist. The movie was originally announced to be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi (as "Saamraajya"), but in the latest release date announcement, there is no mention of the Hindi version. ## While the clear reason for not releasing the movie in Hindi is not known yet, the reports say that it will be released directly on a streaming platform. Netflix is the streaming partner of the movie, and there was a different deal in place originally. ## However, the multiple delays led to a situation where Netflix asked the makers to release the movie in theatres as soon as possible. It is worth noting that to release a movie in a multiplex in Hindi, the film requires, at least, an 8-week theatrical window, and this seems not to be the case with Kingdom. ## To avoid these challenges, the makers have reportedly skipped theatrical release in Hindi. A Sequel To Tamil Crime Thriller 'Ratsasan' Confirmed

The actor dropped this big announcement at a recent promotional event for his upcoming film, Oho Enthan Baby, in which he plays an extended cameo role. ## Directed by Ram Kumar, Ratsasan is widely regarded as one of the finest psychological thrillers in Indian cinema. It is the prequel to one of the biggest Kannada blockbusters, Kantara (2022). ## The new poster features Shetty in full tribal-warrior mode, armed with an axe and shield, roaring amidst a fiery backdrop. With this latest update, Hombale Films, the production house backing this big project, confirmed that the release date of the movie remains set for October 2, 2025, with no changes despite rumours of delays. ## Significane of Kantara 2 release date ## The release date of Kantara: Chapter 2 is strategically chosen to coincide with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra festivities, which are national holidays. The movie, being one of the most anticipated one of the year, can take full advantage of the extended weekend as it will be released on Thursday. ## Shoot details and post-production ## The entire filming of Kantara Chapter 1 has been completed after months on the floors.
