Box Office: Blockbuster Pathaan Surpasses 1000 Crores Worldwide

Mumbai, February 20 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan makes his debut in the 1000 crores club at the worldwide box office, thanks to the historic blockbuster Pathaan. ## The spy action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, has been running riot since its release on January 25 this year. Keeping domestic box office aside, Pathaan's overseas box office performance is eye-popping with approx. $46 million (380 crores gross). ## When combined with the Rs. 620 crores that the film has earned at the domestic box office, Pathaan's worldwide total has now crossed 1000 crores in just 27 days. ## The Yash Raj Films production is the first Bollywood movie to breach the 1000 crores mark without China and with China, overall, it is the second. Previously, Aamir Khan's Dangal has scored over 21 crores worldwide, including approx. 1300 crores from China alone.## Pathaan is also only the 5th Indian movie to reach the historic figure. Tamil Blockbuster 'Love Today' To Get The Hindi Remake

Mumbai, February 20 - The blockbuster Tamil romantic-comedy film Love Today is set to be remade in the Hindi languages. Phantom Studios in association with its original producers AGS Entertainment will be producing the Bollywood remake. ## Directed by Pradeep Ranganathan who also made his acting debut with this film, Love Today followed two young lovers who are forced to exchange their phones for a day and the consequences of that. Released in November last year, the movie was a big blockbuster and grossed over 85 crores worldwide. ## Archana Kalpathi, creative producer, AGS Entertainment, said, "With its reputation of always striving to produce good cinema, joining hands with Phantom Studios was a no-brainer and we look forward to working with them. Mumbai, February 19 - The remake of the Telugu movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Kartik Aaryan's Shehzada has a low opening weekend at the box office. There were a lot of expectations from this action comedy, especially after the blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but it couldn't live up to those expectations. ## After scoring 12.65 crores net in the first two days, the Rohit Dhawan-directed scored an estimated 7-7.50 crores net on its first Sunday, pushing the total collection to around 20 crores. Shehzada scored around a 10% jump on Saturday and an almost similar jump is expected on Sunday. ## Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania witnesses a drop on Sunday for an estimated approx. 8 crores net. The superhero movie scored 17.70 crores net in all languages after jumping around 11% on Saturday. The total collection of Ant-Man 3 is around 26 crores net in 3 days. ## The performance of Ant-Man 3 in India is good but it is nowhere near to the previous MCU films that opened to much better collections. Mumbai, February 18 - Kartik Aaryan's action comedy Shehzada has had a decent start at the box office, scoring 6 crores net. The movie, however, needed a big boost on its second day for a respectable opening weekend but there wasn't much of growth in the biz. ## As per the early estimates, the Rohit Dhawan-directed flick collects around 7 crores net. There might be a few lakhs here and there but the big growth wasn't visible at all. The total collection of Shehzada is approx. 13 crores after the two days and the 3-day weekend is looking at around 20 crores. ## Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, on the other hand, has had a good opening with approx. 9 crores net. The studio also working on the biggest film of it yet with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan coming together. However, the letter might take some time to get off the ground. ## Now, according to Peepingmoon.com, the next film in the spy universe after "Tiger 3" will be Hrithik Roshan-fronted "War 2". It is said that the sequel has been written and the pre-production work has already started. "War 2" will be the massive crossover of the previous films in the spy universe. ## "The sequel has been written in such a way that it has a connection with the previous spy stories. Hrithik will return as Major Kabir Dhaliwal; however, it's yet unknown if the film will tell Kabir's backstory with Jim (John Abraham) or it'll be set in a completely new setting", report says.## Hrithik has reportedly given his dates for "War 2" which is said to be his immediate next after the currently on floor "Fighter". Mumbai, February 17 - Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's Shehzada is heading towards a decent opening day at the box office. As per the early estimates, the action comedy has scored around 7 crores net which might go a little higher depending on the night shows. ## Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Shezada had low pre-sales, however, the spot booking was reasonably better which saves the day for the film. Plus, a holiday on Saturday in the form of Mahashivratri also ensures better night shows. The word of mouth is mixed for the film. ## The advance booking for tomorrow is a little better than the opening day, however, there isn't much growth which could mean a decent opening weekend. The 3-day weekend collection is eyeing 27 crores (+/-) which wasn't even looking anywhere near considering the pre-sales.## Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania too couldn't get going, though it scored higher than Shehzada. As per the early estimates, the superhero movie scored 9-10 crores net with mixed word of mouth. Mumbai, February 16 - After the blockbuster start of the year with Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", all eyes are now on Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's "Shehzada" which releases on February 17. Kartik is returning to the big screen after delivering the biggest hit of his career in the form of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2". ## "Shehzada", which is the remake of the Telugu movie "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo", is directed by Rohit Dhawan whose last directorial was "Dishoom" (2016). "Shehzada" has been carrying a decent buzz, however, the advance booking which opened this week is really poor and doesn't give much hope as far as the opening of the film is concerned. ## The action comedy film will have a wide release on over 3000 screens across the country. As of 1 PM on February 16, "Shehzada" has sold approx. 22K tickets, including approx. 12K tix at three national chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) for the opening day. It is one of the lowest counts of advance tickets post the covid-19 pandemic for a well-known Bollywood actor. ## Kartik's last movie "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" had clocked approx. 6.50 crores gross in advance sales for the opening day and the movie opened at 14.11 crores net which was the second biggest opening post-pandemic for a Bollywood title at that time.## "Shehzada", considering its pre-sales as of now, is looking like a 5-7 crores net starter. As has been the case in the last couple of years, the film will heavily depend on spot bookings and positive word of mouth. The opening, however, can see a boost due to the Mahashivrati holiday the next day (Feb. 18). But, despite all the aspects, "Shehzada" doesn't seem like scoring more than 8 crores unless it gets extremely positive WOM.## Though "Shezada" is a family-friendly film, it is not a front-loaded one, so the makers will be hoping it gets positive reception from critics and audiences. The last time due featured in leading roles together was in "Karan Arjun" (1995), and since then, fans have been waiting for them to do the same again. ## Yash Raj Films is developing its original Spy Universe in which Salman Khan plays the role of Tiger. He was the first to get introduced in the ambitious universe before Hrithik Roshan took charge as Kabir, and finally, Shah Rukh Khan got introduced as Pathaan. Now, according to Pinkvilla, YRF is gearing up to pitch Tiger and Pathaan against each other in its biggest film yet. ## The report has claimed that the basic plot of this epic two-hero crossover film featuring Tiger and Pathaan has been locked. Aditya Chopra himself has developed the story along with Shridhar Raghavan. The movie will see the epic face-off between the two giant superstars of Indian Cinema, much like what happened between Iron Man and Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Batman vs Superman from the DC Universe, report says.## Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, however, have featured in each other's films in cameo roles. The spy actioner has grossed around 970 crores worldwide to date in all versions. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" has also become the first Bollywood movie ever to reach 500 crores net mark, and to celebrate this historical success, Yash Raj Films and National Cinema chains have decided to slash the ticket prices on Friday. ## According to reports, top theater chains of India - PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Miraj, Movietime, MuktaA2 & other participating cinemas have come together to celebrate this coming Friday (February 17) as 'Pathaan Day'. The ticket prices of Pathaan in these cinemas have been reduced to flat Rs.110 for a whole day on Friday. ## "Pathaan" also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, among others in key roles. Box Office: Blockbuster 'Pathaan' Hits 500 Crores Net In All Versions

Mumbai, February 15 - Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" is unstoppable and proving to be a one-horse race at the box office. The spy actioner is racing towards the epic box office milestone of 1000 crores worldwide. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" has become the first ever Bollywood movie to hit 500 crores net collection. The movie scored approx. 499 crores net through the 3rd Tuesday in all versions, and at the time of penning this piece, it has breached Rs. 5 billion mark. ## The Hindi version of "Pathaan" has earned approx. 482 crores net through 3rd Tuesday (21 days). It is already the highest-grossing Hindi title and has already scored more than 100 crores than the second-placed "Dangal" which scored approx. 374 crores net in Hindi. ## "Pathaan", meanwhile, is chasing history to become the biggest Hindi grosser ever at the domestic box office. Currently, SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2" is the number 1 grosser with 511 crores net. The SRK-starrer will be around 490 crores net at the end of the 3rd week and then, it will need approx. 20 crores more the beat BB2. ## The Yash Raj Films' production was enjoying a free run until now, but this weekend onwards, it will be up against "Shahzada" and "Ant-Man 3" which might dent its chances to go past BB2.
